Answer:	It varies. I put one on a '78 American Jazz, a 2 year-old Squier '77, and a 4 year-old Squier VM Jaguar and they were all very different heights at minimum setting. But each one fell right into place after about 20 minutes of adjusting each one.

Answer:	I'm assuming you meant 6L6 tone. The answer is no. EL84 tubes do not sound like 6L6 tubes. While they both their respective cleans with crisp and chime or distortion under amp gain, they do not sound alike.

Answer:	I don't know about zinc axe hardware, I wouldn't buy it just because it is more corrosive. Brass is an alloy of zinc and copper. They both have almost the same density. Brass in comparison to zinc is super stable (corrodes much more slowly) and is more malleable (less brittle). I chose the Fender HiMass to upgrade a Player Mustang Bass, mainly for the appearance and how it is close in design to the original Leo Quan Badass, which I've used before. I'm thumpin' happy with this bridge and some fatter Diadarrio 50-105 flats. It looks like they jacked the price a little, so that sucks.

Answer:	I believe they are balanced. I cannot say for sure, but I know they are a matched set. My Jr. hasn't sounded as good as it does now since I can remember.

Answer:	Check the tube life monitoring section in the manual but basically it says when this happens to replace the power amp tube immediately but also says it can be due to many issues.

Answer:	Vox AC30 to fender champ in tone, reverb is decent. I actually like the tone better than my fender super champ X2 head. Install some JJ’s if you want it to sparkle. Not much bass, phat switch sounds muddy to me. Works well with a tube screamer and a properly scaled 1x12 or 1x10 cab. It will be very dark though a large cab. Bedroom volume only, it gets very hissy at high volume. Acoustic drums will drown it out. Real tube tone using headphones, but you cannot run it into a PA.

Answer:	Yes, I think you have 4 in that amp of the el84. If so, make sure you replace all 4 with matched quad set. Read & check on the biasing of the amp. A lot of great tutorials on you tube.
Question:	I received my tubes a week or so ago. instead of three 12ax7 tubes i received three ecc83s tubes. i have not installed these. are they legitimate

Answer:	Jon, Thank you for the enquiry. Hughes and Kettner Grandmeister 36 is a great system with 3 12AX7s (ECC83) preamplifiers and 4 EL84s push-pull power Amplifiers. Looks like JJs are matched pairs output Valves. This would definitely be a replacement to your Hughes and Kettner Grandmeister 36.My question is as to why you need to replace all the valves, at once?What seems to be the issue here?I have come across owners of such great systems asking me to help them replace all the Valves because of some odd distortion ghost sounds etc etc. Most of the issues are NOT the Valves, themselves. The issue, normally, is the ELECTROLYTIC FILTER CAPACITORS, in the power supply, pre-amp section and input Mylar or polyester Capacitors and also BIAS capacitors. Please have your system diagnosed by a sincere Audio Engineer and obtain his opinion.As far as your enquiry goes, these JJs are exact replacement for your Hughes and Kettner Grandmeister 36.Cheers and keep me informed.

Answer:	When you say "more" that indicates that there is a comparison being made, and without a second option to compare to, we cannot say these will provide more headroom that what is currently in your amplifier. You can always request higher plate current ratings for more headroom if desired.
Question:	Are each tube individually secured inside their original mullard printed box when purchased as quad
Answer:	They should. The glass is a little larger than other EL84's, so they don't fit in some amps, like the Marshall DSL401. IIRC, the Blues Jr has a normal access....

Answer:	These are the correct power tubes for this amp. You need to have a technician bias the amp to the new tubes when you get them.
