They are descent quality and hold the string tension pretty well. Not a set of Grover tuners, but not that bad for about 65% less than a used set of Grovers. If you are referring to a locking button, as a small or large button as you call them, then these are neither, you will find those only on some expensive tuners. Hope this helps! |

| Answer: | Not sure what you are looking to have answered, but if you are looking to use the neewer type tuning pegs on a 12 string, they will work with normal modifactions. I use them to build cigar box guitars and they work fine! |

| Answer: | Another thing is Charles, in using a step up bit it is important to work a little at a time, work from the front and then the back, slowly and use the tuner as a guide for a tight fit, do not open the holes to much especially in the front of the headstock, if you do the washer will slide down too far and not seat the tuner correctly. And try to keep a 90 degree when drilling them out, a drill press is ideal, but a Electric hand drill will work as well, JUST GO SLOWLY!!!!! Btw the pictures of the tuners in the request for info shows 12 tuners unless you are building a 12 string guitar consider buying 6, plenty of those available for sale on eBay!
