14 best tuner metronome for violins
A tuner metronome for violins is a versatile accessory designed to assist violinists in tuning their instruments and maintaining proper timing while practicing or performing. It combines the functions of a tuner and a metronome, making it a valuable tool for musicians. Here are some key features and information about tuner metronomes for violins:
Tuning Function: The tuner aspect of the device helps violinists ensure that their instrument is in perfect pitch. It typically displays the current pitch of the played note and indicates whether it's flat, sharp, or in tune. The user can adjust the tuning pegs on the violin to achieve the correct pitch.
Metronome Function: The metronome function provides a rhythmic beat to help musicians keep time while playing. It can be set to various time signatures (e.g., 4/4, 3/4) and tempos (e.g., beats per minute or BPM). This is especially useful for practicing and improving timing, as well as for ensemble playing.
Display: Most tuner metronomes have an easy-to-read display that shows the current note being played, the pitch accuracy, and the metronome settings. Some models may have a visual indicator, such as a needle or LED lights, to help with tuning.
Sound Feedback: In addition to visual feedback, tuner metronomes often produce audible tones or clicks for tuning and metronome functions. The sound may change in pitch or rhythm to indicate whether the note is in tune or whether the tempo is consistent with the set BPM.
Metronome and Tuner Modes: These devices typically allow users to switch between metronome and tuner modes, making it convenient for musicians to use both functions as needed during practice or performance.
Portability: Tuner metronomes are usually compact and portable, making them easy to carry to rehearsals, performances, or music lessons. Some models even come with clip-on attachments that can be secured to the violin's scroll or music stand.
Power Source: They are powered by batteries, which are often included with the device. Some advanced models may have rechargeable batteries or even a power-saving feature to extend battery life.
Additional Features: Depending on the model, tuner metronomes may offer additional features like transposition capabilities, a built-in microphone for tuning, and customizable metronome beats.
Overall, a tuner metronome for violins is a valuable tool for violinists, helping them maintain precise tuning and rhythm in their practice and performance, which are crucial aspects of playing the instrument effectively.

Answer: | does it work for an autoharp |
Question: | What are the dimensions of the korg tm-60 tuner itself (not the package it's shipped in |
Answer: | Yes, I believe it would be the best choice. The ST-2 is an all instrument tuner. I hope this was helpful. |
Question: | Can this be used to tune a tenor saxophone |
Answer: | According to Snark's website, the ST-2 has a mic and vibration sensor, the ST-8 appears to be vibration only, the ST-8Hz adds Hertz Tuning for 1/10th of 1 Hz Accuracy. The ST-2 replaces the SN-2, the ST-8 replaces the SN-8, etc. They do still show the originals on their website. However, Snark doesn't show the SN1X, SN5X, or SN6X on their website any longer. I assume they are discontinued. |
Question: | Will this work to tune an electric guitar without an amp? Or do you have to use a clip on to pickup vibrations |

User questions & answers
Question: | How accurate is this for vocal tuning |
Answer: | You can adjust the calibration on the frequency to some degree but not nearly enough to accomplish what you want which is one whole tone. This is the problem you will encounter with any standard electronic tuner. About the most any of them can be adjusted is less than a half tone. |
Question: | Does this have polyrhythms |
Answer: | Yes. It gets pitch from acoustic instruments through it's microphone, electric instruments through it's input. |
Question: | How do I tune my cello? Do i use the violin part? Or does it has a different letter/number |
Answer: | It works with this range. A0 (27.50Hz) - C8 (4186.01Hz): Sine wave |
Question: | Does this metronome have ac/dc capability |
Answer: | Yes, it’s chromatic so it will work. We have found proper placement is key in order for it to register well. Like clipping it to the bridge for example. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Would this work for tuning harmonica |
Answer: | I can’t swear to it but I got this tuner and the clip that attaches to the instrument. I did not attach the clip to the instrument and it still worked just fine. So it could ”hear” pitch. So I would say yes it will work for voice. |
Question: | will it tune a harp |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | Does this work for woodwind instruments, specifically a clarinet |
Answer: | I've never used it on a trumpet, but because of the clip on mic, I believe it can be. If I did play trumpet, I would probably clip it to the bell of the horn. |
Question: | What sound does this use for the beat? Can you change it |
Answer: | The MetroPitch has a built-in mic which will detect the notes you sing, and show you whether you're flat, sharp, or in tune. Like all other tuners of this kind, it works a lot better with longer sustained notes versus staccato singing. I hope that helps. |
Product description
The Korg TM series which lets you use a tuner and metronome simultaneously, has been revamped. The TM-60 is the newest model and features a larger display that can show the tuner and metronome simultaneously. The battery life has also been dramatically improved. With the all-new TM-60, you’ll be able to enjoy pitch training and rhythm training without having to switch functions or be concerned with battery life.
Convenient and Easy to Use
Tuning and rhythm training are indispensable for brass band or orchestral practice. In addition to letting you use the tuner and metronome simultaneously, the TM-60 features a display that’s approximately 1.3 times larger than the previous model, allowing easy viewing even when the unit is placed on your music stand, and also allowing the tuner and metronome functions to both be viewed simultaneously. You’ll be able to use practicing techniques that are idiomatic to orchestral instruments, while varying the tone in time with the tempo, or checking the pitch of chords while using the metronome.
Excellent Response Meter
Korg's proprietary technology accurately detects the pitch without any time lag. The pitch drift that is prone to occur during long tones played on a wind instrument can be detected before it happens, letting you train yourself to produce unwavering tone with stable pitch.
Wide Detection Range
The TM-60 can detect note names and pitches for a variety of orchestral and other instruments. The range from C1 to C8 can easily be detected. Even acoustic instruments that are difficult to detect because their sound contains a significant amount of low-frequency energy or a large number of partials, such as guitar and ukulele, can be tuned easily and accurately. By attaching the CM-200 clip on microphone to your instrument, the vibrations can be sent directly to the tuner for more accurate tuning.
- KORG TECHNOLOGY: High precision, simultaneous use tuner and metronome with Instant pitch detection response
- CONVENIENT: Large, backlit LCD display, adjustable calibration and marked third intervals
- VERSATILE: C1-C8 detection range for variety of instruments, 15 rhythm variations and 3 types of tempo settings
- PRACTICAL: Memory backup, auto shut off and long battery life
- PRECISE: CM-200 clip on microphone ensures accurate tuning every time
User questions & answers
Question: | Do they sell the clip on part |
Answer: | Are you getting that speed directly connected to your modem, or via wireless? If it is via wireless, the wireless router you have COULD be the issue (not necessarily, but potentially). If those are the speeds that you're getting when hard connected to the SB6190 modem, then Comcast likely isn't providing the bandwidth they promised. You also need to know your computer's network card capabilities, which may limit the DL speeds, even when hard connected to the modem.I have this modem and I have the Comcast 150MB/s plan. I usually get DL speeds that are surprisingly over 150MB/s when hard connected to the modem. This modem can handle DL speeds much higher than 250MB, so if you're hard connected to it, the problem is likely with Comcast. |
Question: | will this tuner work on voice |
Answer: | Its definitely not true that it has "no RAM" as you can see at the link below even the older SB6183 has 128MB of DDR3 RAM (and 16MB Flash for the firmware/OS). However people are correct in saying that how much dosen't really matter since this is only a modem. Unless you are only connecting one device straight into it you're going to be using a router, so the RAM/CPU specs of it your router are far more important. This modem will not be your bottleneck at any point. If I had to guess though since its designed to support up to 1.4 Gbps downstream speeds my guess would be around 128 to 256MB of DDR3 RAM. I do know it uses the intel puma 6 chipset which is based on a 1.2Ghz atom CPU.In general though I say just go with whatever you can afford that supports the largest numbers of bonded channels so you have a more future proof modem. I decided to go with this Arris because that's the brand my small local cable co seems to always use so I feel there is a better chance of them updating the firmware of it. The Netgear CM600 would be a good choice as well since its close to the same number of bonded channels supported (24x8, vs the 32x8 of this Arris modem).https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r29783073-SB6183-Naked-SB6183-DG1670A-Latency-Shootout (the RAM chip on the mobo is 128MB of Samsung DDR3 RAM) |
Question: | Includes the CM-200 clip on microphone |
Answer: | Just off the phone with Xfinity to get this provisioned (can't do it on your own, they have to add it in via MAC address before it will work). As previously mentioned in these answers this does NOT support Gigabit speeds with Comcast/Xfinity. Gigabit requires DOCSYS 3.1, this is 3.0. It does work with the 150Mbps (what I have), 250, and 400 plans. Xfinity site says "Up to 644 Mbps" - https://mydeviceinfo.xfinity.com/device/arris-sb6190-461 |
Question: | Can it be used for a trumpet |
Answer: | Yes, it comes with a 3ft. coaxial cable and a 3ft. RJ45 cable... |

Answer: | Yes this book stand folds nearly flat and should fit in any backpack. I fold mine and keep it on the bookshelf. I really like mine and may even purchase another one. |

User questions & answers
Question: | does it display the register of the note? for example it displays c4, g5, e7 instead of just c, g, e |

Question: | Did this work for guitar |
Answer: | It uses 4 AAA batteries, standard alkaline. |
Question: | Does metronome use voice or just beeps |
Answer: | No |
Question: | Can someone provide me with a how-to guide or manual for this? i'm totally blind |

You can tune by just playing into it or you can plug your instrument directly into it. Also the color screen is a great feature if you play gigs where you may not have enough light. Finally, the metronome is a great feature when it comes to practice sessions. This thing although small it’s a powerhouse for any beginner or seasoned musician to have in the toolbox. |
Question: | Can you use this for a viola |
Answer: | (2) AAA batteries. The battery life, of course, will depend on how often it is used... it has good battery life in my opinion. |
Question: | Can It tune a voice? Actually show what pitch you are singing |
Answer: | It is about 7 inches or 18cm. Thanks. |
Question: | Do the pitch up/down buttons just change the frequency (like from 440 to 433), or will it change it to the next semitone |
Answer: | I don't see why not. I used my dell laptop that turns into a tablet and the venting is on the sides and it seemed perfectly fine since the cutouts are on the side. And I used it for several hours because I was illustrating. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I buy a replacement clip |
Answer: | I don't know. It is a heavy duty clip (maybe too large) It seems most durable between my other tuners. I have snarks, delta labs, fender tuners too. The clip is held to the tuner by a strong magnetic ball, so it is adjustable to any angle. It is a little too big for me. I use this mostly for the metronome feature. it clips better to a Ovation than my other tuners. Fast clear easy tuning, just a little big for when performing. Too big looking for my ukuleles and Merlin dulcimer. |
Question: | Does metronome make sound to the beat |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | is them Metronome audible |
Answer: | This product was never delivered!!!! |
Question: | how do i know when this tuner is finshed charging and how long do i let it charge for |
Answer: | There is an orange charging icon which will blink as it is charging. It shows how much charge the battery has. When the unit is being used to tune, a red icon shows the battery status. |
