11 best metronome for piano guitars
Metronomes for piano and guitars are indispensable tools for musicians and are commonly used to help with timing and rhythm during practice and performance. Here's what you need to know about metronomes in the context of musical instruments:
Timing and Rhythm Control: A metronome is a device that produces a regular, steady beat at a set tempo (beats per minute or BPM). Musicians use metronomes to establish and maintain precise timing and rhythm while playing their instruments.
Practice Aid: Metronomes are particularly valuable for musicians, including pianists and guitarists, during practice sessions. They provide a consistent and audible reference point, helping musicians develop a strong sense of timing and rhythm.
Tempo Adjustment: Most metronomes allow users to adjust the tempo to their desired speed. This flexibility is essential for practicing at varying tempos, from slow and steady for beginners to fast and challenging for advanced players.
Time Signatures: Metronomes often have settings for different time signatures, such as 4/4, 3/4, 6/8, and more. This versatility accommodates various musical styles and genres.
Subdivisions: Some metronomes offer the option to subdivide the beats, which is especially helpful for practicing complex rhythms. For example, a musician can set the metronome to provide subdivisions of quarter notes, eighth notes, or sixteenth notes.
Visual and Audible Indicators: Many modern metronomes feature both visual and audible indicators. The visual component typically includes an LED light that flashes in time with the beat, while the audible component produces a click sound. Some metronomes even include additional sounds, like woodblocks or drum samples.
Portable and Battery-Powered: Metronomes are usually compact and portable, making them easy to carry to rehearsals, gigs, or music lessons. They are often powered by batteries, ensuring they remain operational without needing an external power source.
Metronome Apps: In addition to standalone metronome devices, there are numerous metronome apps available for smartphones and tablets. These apps offer similar features and are convenient for musicians who prefer digital tools.
Metronome for Different Instruments: While metronomes are commonly used by pianists and guitarists, they are versatile tools suitable for virtually any musical instrument or ensemble, including drums, violins, and bands.
Improving Musical Performance: Regular use of a metronome can significantly enhance a musician's ability to play with precision and accuracy. It helps musicians develop a strong internal sense of timing, which is crucial for musical excellence.
In summary, metronomes for piano and guitars are valuable accessories that aid musicians in practicing and performing with precise timing and rhythm. They are available in various forms, from traditional standalone devices to digital apps, and offer a range of features to accommodate the needs of musicians at all skill levels and across different musical genres.

The Korg TM series which lets you use a tuner and metronome simultaneously, has been revamped. The TM-60 is the newest model and features a larger display that can show the tuner and metronome simultaneously. The battery life has also been dramatically improved. With the all-new TM-60, you’ll be able to enjoy pitch training and rhythm training without having to switch functions or be concerned with battery life.
Convenient and Easy to Use
Tuning and rhythm training are indispensable for brass band or orchestral practice. In addition to letting you use the tuner and metronome simultaneously, the TM-60 features a display that’s approximately 1.3 times larger than the previous model, allowing easy viewing even when the unit is placed on your music stand, and also allowing the tuner and metronome functions to both be viewed simultaneously. You’ll be able to use practicing techniques that are idiomatic to orchestral instruments, while varying the tone in time with the tempo, or checking the pitch of chords while using the metronome.
Excellent Response Meter
Korg's proprietary technology accurately detects the pitch without any time lag. The pitch drift that is prone to occur during long tones played on a wind instrument can be detected before it happens, letting you train yourself to produce unwavering tone with stable pitch.
Wide Detection Range
The TM-60 can detect note names and pitches for a variety of orchestral and other instruments. The range from C1 to C8 can easily be detected. Even acoustic instruments that are difficult to detect because their sound contains a significant amount of low-frequency energy or a large number of partials, such as guitar and ukulele, can be tuned easily and accurately. By attaching the CM-200 clip on microphone to your instrument, the vibrations can be sent directly to the tuner for more accurate tuning.
- KORG TECHNOLOGY: High precision, simultaneous use tuner and metronome with Instant pitch detection response
- CONVENIENT: Large, backlit LCD display, adjustable calibration and marked third intervals
- VERSATILE: C1-C8 detection range for variety of instruments, 15 rhythm variations and 3 types of tempo settings
- PRACTICAL: Memory backup, auto shut off and long battery life
- PRECISE: CM-200 clip on microphone ensures accurate tuning every time
User questions & answers
Question: | Do they sell the clip on part |
Answer: | Are you getting that speed directly connected to your modem, or via wireless? If it is via wireless, the wireless router you have COULD be the issue (not necessarily, but potentially). If those are the speeds that you're getting when hard connected to the SB6190 modem, then Comcast likely isn't providing the bandwidth they promised. You also need to know your computer's network card capabilities, which may limit the DL speeds, even when hard connected to the modem.I have this modem and I have the Comcast 150MB/s plan. I usually get DL speeds that are surprisingly over 150MB/s when hard connected to the modem. This modem can handle DL speeds much higher than 250MB, so if you're hard connected to it, the problem is likely with Comcast. |
Question: | will this tuner work on voice |
Answer: | Its definitely not true that it has "no RAM" as you can see at the link below even the older SB6183 has 128MB of DDR3 RAM (and 16MB Flash for the firmware/OS). However people are correct in saying that how much dosen't really matter since this is only a modem. Unless you are only connecting one device straight into it you're going to be using a router, so the RAM/CPU specs of it your router are far more important. This modem will not be your bottleneck at any point. If I had to guess though since its designed to support up to 1.4 Gbps downstream speeds my guess would be around 128 to 256MB of DDR3 RAM. I do know it uses the intel puma 6 chipset which is based on a 1.2Ghz atom CPU.In general though I say just go with whatever you can afford that supports the largest numbers of bonded channels so you have a more future proof modem. I decided to go with this Arris because that's the brand my small local cable co seems to always use so I feel there is a better chance of them updating the firmware of it. The Netgear CM600 would be a good choice as well since its close to the same number of bonded channels supported (24x8, vs the 32x8 of this Arris modem).https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r29783073-SB6183-Naked-SB6183-DG1670A-Latency-Shootout (the RAM chip on the mobo is 128MB of Samsung DDR3 RAM) |
Question: | Includes the CM-200 clip on microphone |
Answer: | Just off the phone with Xfinity to get this provisioned (can't do it on your own, they have to add it in via MAC address before it will work). As previously mentioned in these answers this does NOT support Gigabit speeds with Comcast/Xfinity. Gigabit requires DOCSYS 3.1, this is 3.0. It does work with the 150Mbps (what I have), 250, and 400 plans. Xfinity site says "Up to 644 Mbps" - https://mydeviceinfo.xfinity.com/device/arris-sb6190-461 |
Question: | Can it be used for a trumpet |
Answer: | Yes, it comes with a 3ft. coaxial cable and a 3ft. RJ45 cable... |

User questions & answers
Question: | How long will it run on a single winding |
Answer: | I haven't timed it, but it will go for at least ten minutes on a single wind. |
Question: | What does the bell do? Or can I just use the tick tick |
Answer: | The bell is to accent the first of a 4/4 rhythm, 3/4, etc. |
Question: | Is this wooden |
Answer: | Yes, the 811M has a wooden case as all the 800/810 models. Their plastic models are 800K/810K or 845/855 series. Still, it includes plastic parts - check the reviews on Amazon. Also, pay attention to the model numbers, as only the 804/814 series is genuine walnut, the others are stained wood. Check their metronome website at http://wittner-gmbh.de/metronome_e.html. Good luck. |
Question: | The item weight is 17.6 lbs, but the shipping weight is only 1.2 lbs. Is the 7,600 L of helium required to lift the remaining 16.4 lbs included |
Answer: | Haha, it definitely doesn't weigh 17.6lbs. 1.2 lbs is probably the correct weight or close to it. |
