User questions & answers
Question: | Does this hi hat swivel for double bass pedal placement |
Answer: | They are the sturdiest stand I have ever owned. I am 5'11" and they can be adjusted close to head-high. ABSOLUTELY worth the money! |
Question: | Hello friend! How are you doing?> What is the box size |
Answer: | Excellent quality - heavy duty. I have a 70's 11 piece Slingerland set & I prefer to use DW equipment for my cymbals & not the Slingerland brand, which I possess! The stand is sturdier to handle the heavy ride cymbals and the multitude of other cymbals I have acquired over the decades. You will not regret paying "a little more" for outstanding quality and longevity of this product. I have one non DW stand left & when my wife isn't looking I'll swap it out for this stand! |
Question: | Does anyone know what the double round plastic piece is for that came with it? It came with no instructions for that or any of the adjustments |
Answer: | never happened to me, I don't know |
Question: | What type of wing nut does it come |
Answer: | It has the older style fine tooth tilter. |

Question: | It is compatible with a Sonor Hi Hat |
Answer: | I’m pretty sure, but you might want to double check the dimensions it’s compatible with. |
Question: | Is it compatible with the dw ultralight hi-hat stands? the stock one is terrible |
Answer: | I don't have an ultralight hi-hat stand but this clutch with its' clamp has a lot of flexibility in the size of pull rod it clamps to. I have this clutch, it's awesome. I keep my hats loose for some slosh-y garage rock and I've never had an issue with the nuts backing out of place. I would without a doubt buy this product again if I had to. |
Question: | anyone know if it will compatible with gibraltar hihats? Thanks |
Answer: | Yes. |
Question: | Anyone know if this will fit an Iron Cobra's clutch rod |
Answer: | Sorry it doesn't. i have an Iron Cobra and a DW hi-hat, and the Iron Cobra rod is a bigger diameter. I will tell you that I love the DW 9000 series (which I'm shocked that this clutch wasn't included with). And no, I'm not a huge DW "guy". I have a Tama B/B Starclassic set that I absolutely love! |

Inspired by the hardware of the 50’s and 60’s, 6000 Series hardware features a lightweight aluminum flush base and music stand-style folding design. It’s the lightest hardware We offer, yet performs surprisingly well for rock players as well. A scaled down version of the popular line-up of 6000 series retro-styled, flush-base hardware, 6000 series ultralight stands utilize smaller diameter, lighter gauge steel tubing and a low mass tube joint for optimal portability. Other Marquis features include a new Glide Tilter for exacting adjustment of cymbal and snare drum angles. An “old-school” snare basket design get a modern, spring-loaded make over and the hi-hat stand is as smooth and effortless as its 6000 cousin. Ultralight hardware is a perfect for bop kits, vintage sets and gigging drummers everywhere.
- Low-profile and lightweight aluminum flush base design
User questions & answers
Question: | Does the base swivel so I can use the footboard at an angle? Is the bottom "fixed in place |
Answer: | Base is fixed so it doesn't swivel. |
Question: | Can this stand offer fast response on heavier/bigger hats |
Answer: | I use medium to heavy cymbals and I get really good response. There is an adjustment you can make but I didn’t have to change anything for mine. |
Question: | Given the light weight, would this stand support an auxillary snare attached with an L-rod adapter |
Answer: | I wouldn't recommend attaching any L rod adapters to this stand. The base feet which lie flat on the floor are light weight and its possible the stand would fall over with any more weight. |
Question: | Item weight is listed here as 5.7lbs, but the regular CP6500 is listed as 4.2 pounds. Is this one really the heavier of the two |
Answer: | The DW6500 HiHat stand weighs 2.6kg's and the DW6500UL weighs 2.3kg's. I have both and recommend them. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it possible for the hihat pedal to dri e the left drum beater with this stand |
Answer: | Yes it has the ability to be a slave pedal to the left beater |
Question: | It appears in the picture that the secondary bass pedal is on the outboard side of the hihat is that correct? and if so can it be switched |
Answer: | No...this is a casting and it can not be switched over...only comes on the left side of the hi hat board |
Question: | Why doesn't the hi hat stand assembly have rubber padding on the bottom? Why does it have velcro |
Answer: | Absolutely to grip carpet better... Though, the fact that the left bass pedal is a part of this hi-hat rig helps keep it in place much better than a standalone double pedal and hi-hat stand. I have made brackets in the past to stabilize my left pedal by attaching it to a leg of my hi-hat stand. Ultimately, I'm happier screwing the left bass pedal to the floor -- it's hard to beat that... If this is an option for you (I understand it can sometimes be a rare option to screw into the floor) I suggest saving the money and purchasing exactly the stand and pedals you want. |
Question: | Does this setup come with dw5000 double pedal and high hat stand |
Answer: | Yes, just like the picture. |
