User questions & answers

Question: How can we carry this without case? :o
Answer: I have a case for another pedal, so this is not a problem to me. But not have a case is a problem.
Question: there is a case included
Answer: The HP310LW does not come with a case.
Question: can it be used as 2 separate pedals on 2 bass drums or not
Answer: No you want two single pedals.
Question: Do these pedals have a spring under the footboard
Answer: No they do not, honestly I wouldn't buy these unless you really need pedals, you could attach the springs if you buy them but wouldn't really recommend these unless you are on a serious budget. Not anything like actual speed cobras would recommend getting dw3000 if you are on a budget about the same price I'm sure you'll find cheaper ones as well but the 3000's kill these cobras.

User questions & answers

Question: dose it swap to left foot and the out rig to the right side
Answer: As far as I can tell, no. You cannot switch the main pedal to the left instead of right.
Question: does this ship to australia
Answer: Thank you for the question. I can ship, if the address of Australia is known. I will inform you the shipping date once I confirm your payment. Please purchase by Amazon.com.
Question: I have used the iron c. rolling glide that is $399 in amazon's site, what is the difference? i have heard that the beaters tendo to drop when u play
Answer: I have used both for a fairly good amount of playing, although not back-to-back. I have found very little difference between the two. There have, so far, not been any fasteners coming loose, or parts needing re-adjustment after setting them the first time. Tama has always been, for me, very consistent even in their 'budget grade' equipment. This pedal plays extremely well and I recommend it.
Question: What is the difference between these and the IC
Answer: Other than the different finishes in the posts (600 has black anodized, 200 has polished silver) AND the 600 features a double-link chain for both pedals vs. the 200's single chain... I don't notice very much difference at all. Actions are very similar, both are equally adjustable and versatile. Both are TAMA-tough as well (great quality).

User questions & answers

Question: does this have a cobra coil under foot board
Answer: This model does not come with the cobra coil. BUT, you can buy the coil attachment kit for about $50, which is considerably cheaper than buying the 900. Also, from what I've heard from other drummers the coil is basically marketing propaganda. I bought the 600 series and they are phenomenal. I only wished I had bought the speed cobras for the longer footboard (big feet problems). Other than that you won't have any problems or regrets with these awesome pedals. I am not sponsored or affiliated with Tama in anyway, but everything I use is Tama and for good reason.
Question: can you use these for electric sets
Answer: Yes they mount up to the bass drum with no problem. I have the Roland 25 electric drum set. It works great. Hope this helps..
Question: What does it come in
Answer: A cardboard box.
Question: How long can the driveshaft be extended? Basically, how far apart can you put the pedals
Answer: I've had mine extended as fare apart as it will go 2 feet. Or think if you have 14" and your two knees, about 5" each.It will exstend about another 5" more. If your were asking can it go to far and strip or something, not a problem. I'm very hard on pedals and the Iron cobra is yet to fail. Happy drummingP.S.I regret not getting the anniversary edition. And yes the cobra coils do make a difference.

Tama Iron Cobra 900 Power Glide Double Bass Drum Pedal

Tama

Based on 25 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Iron Cobra 900 Power Glide Double Bass Drum Pedal. This Iron Cobra Power Glide is a twin kick pedal for the serious player. The pedal's solid foundation can be attributed to its Super Stabilizer design that incorporates a wider baseplate and frame for absolute stability. At each pedals heel, the specially designed 3-piece Hinge Guard Block provides a more durable hinge point and also lengthens the footboard for increased leverage. At the heart of the Iron Cobra is the Power Glide cam, which is now the lighter, smoother, more natural feeling LiteSprocket design. This cam is an offset double-chained Power Glide cam, which accelerates the stroke powerfully as it travels toward the bass drum head. The Speedo-Ring rocker cam is yet another example of streamlining, eliminating spring friction with a high-quality, built-in ball bearing rocker. The Quick-Hook spring attachment eliminates wobbling, provides maximum power transmission to the Speedo-Ring, and helps facilitate quicker setup. To further improve speed and beater stroke action, the adjustable Cobra Coil spring-return constantly works to push the footboard back to its original position, tightening the relationship between players foot and the pedal. Perhaps one of the most innovative developments of the HP900PWN is its Swivel Spring Tight tension-locking mechanism, which are designed to rock or swivel, allowing freer spring movement and a smoother overall feel. The smartly redesigned Power-Strike Cobra Beater provides a fatter, yet more focused sound and optimizes beater action for strong, precise impact. Finally, the Iron Cobra brings an end to makeshift methods of trying to protect the bass drum hoop: the Para-Clamp II Pro holds the pedal securely to the bass drum hoop without scratching it or slipping, thanks to an enlarged rubber padded clamp piece. The Iron Cobra HP900PWN includes a custom hardshell carrying case for safe transport.

  • Rolling Glide Cams
  • LiteSprocket
  • Quick-Hook spring attachment
  • Cobra Coil return springs
  • Speedo-Ring rocker cams

User questions & answers

Question: Do it comes with a hard case
Answer: Yes it does
Question: Is this strictly a double pedal or can you convert it into two individual pedals
Answer: Strictly double
Question: Does it come with case
Answer: yes it does come with case -Markale
Question: To anyone who’s tried both, which do you recommend this or the speed cobra and why? Thanks
Answer: I have an Iron Cobra and i had a Speed too... I sold my Speed Cobra cause i didn't adapted to it... it was a bit light, even in the heaviest spring setting.. So, i felt a miss of response to playing fast. The positive point in Speed is the longboard, but even so, i still prefer the Iron Cobra.. in my opinion, is the best balanced and powerful pedal ever.

Answer: For me it doesn't. I can't tell it's even there.

Question: what makes these better thtan the
Answer: the clamp adjustment to hold on the bass drum is much better, for drummers that move their kits around constantly for gigs these will hold up much longer. there are a few other changes that are hard to catch but basically this is a longer lasting pedal. the beaters are also a higher quality. for a casual, non-traveling drummer the 310s are a great cheaper alternative

The Iron Cobra 200 series was developed using the same design principles as the Iron Cobra 900 series, and offers remarkable performance at an affordable price. The Power Glide cam provides a smooth, light feel without sacrificing power or speed. Both the HP200P and HP200PTW can be fitted with TAMA's Cobra Coil for an even faster footboard return.

Power Glide Cam

The Power Glide features a double-chained offset cam which increases power and speed as the beater reaches the end of the stroke.

Beater Angle Adjustment

You won't find adjustable beater/footboard angles on most pedals in this price range. But our HP200P comes standard with an angle adjustment system linked to the footboard angle.

Spring Tension Adjustment

Inspired by Iron Cobra 900 series drum pedals' "Spring Tight" feature, this specially shaped nut prevents the spring unit from loosening.

Spring Tight

Twisting springs severely reduce pedal smoothness. Spring Tight, a clever half-moon shaped spring tension rod, keeps the spring from twisting so there's never any loss of power transmission.

User questions & answers

Question: What's the difference between this peak and the 910? Is it worth the $200+ in savings
Answer: I have both. I can't tell any difference between the two. If you want to spend a little more money then get a Tama Speed Cobra double pedal if you want more speed and power.
Question: What are the beaters made of? I've been told the luck from on the TD-17kvx will get worn out with felt beaters
Answer: It's made of Felt. However, if this is the board you want, you could always purchase it and get a better if different material to replace it. Eg. The accu-strike beater made by Tama also. The beater material i butadiene, said to be less damaging to electric bass drum heads. Good luck!
Question: Does this pedal include a case
Answer: Does not include case.
Question: Does the long board accomodate Heel down player with size 13 shoe
Answer: I just measured one of my pedals it is 13 1/2 inches, but that is from the chain to the very end of footboard on the Tama symbol. It may work for you. I play heel up so not really sure.
