13 best silent guitar with gigs

A silent guitar with gigs is a musical instrument designed for quiet practice and performance, especially in situations where traditional acoustic or electric guitars might be too loud. This type of guitar is related to Solid Body, Electric Guitars, Guitars, and the broader category of Musical Instruments. Here is what you should know about a silent guitar with gigs:

  1. Silent Guitar Concept:

    • A silent guitar is typically an electric or acoustic-electric guitar that has been engineered to produce minimal sound when played unplugged. It achieves this through various design features and materials.
    • The primary goal of a silent guitar is to allow guitarists to practice or perform in situations where low volume or silence is required, such as in apartments, recording studios, or quiet venues.
  2. Solid Body and Electric Guitars:

    • Silent guitars often have a solid body, similar to an electric guitar, which contributes to their reduced sound production. This design minimizes acoustic resonance.
    • Some models of silent guitars are entirely electric, allowing the player to connect them to amplifiers or headphones for sound amplification and effects.
  3. Gigs (Gig Bag):

    • The reference to "gigs" in the context of a silent guitar likely pertains to the gig bag, which is a padded carrying case designed to protect and transport the guitar.
    • Gig bags for silent guitars are specially tailored to fit these instruments and provide adequate protection during travel to gigs, rehearsals, or practice sessions.
  4. Musical Instruments:

    • Silent guitars are considered a niche category of musical instruments, primarily catering to guitarists who need a portable, quiet, and versatile practice and performance solution.
    • They often feature headphone jacks for private practice and may include built-in effects or modeling technology to mimic various guitar tones.

In summary, a silent guitar with gigs is a specialized musical instrument designed for low-volume or silent playing. It incorporates features of both solid-body and electric guitars and is a practical choice for guitarists who require a quiet practice or performance option. The reference to "gigs" may pertain to the gig bag used to transport and protect the instrument during travel to various musical engagements.

User questions & answers

Question: I've heard some complaints about the action, have people tried adjusting the truss rod
Answer: I have some frett buzz that I suspect to be because of the action. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a way to adjust it without adjusting the trust rod, which voids the warranty :/
Question: Since it's considered as a Acoustic-Electric... How so? I mean Acoustic wise? Does it even sound loud enough to practice? And is a jack for headsets
Answer: I'm really not sure how it's considered an acoustic electric. It's not very loud without being plugged into an amp, mainly because it's lacking a sound chamber. My recomendation would be to get a small amp which you could clip on. And to answer the other question. No it does not have a headphone jack. To solve that i would recomend buying a headphone amp to use. To summarize this, the guitar is rather quiet without being plugged in, and does not include a headphone jack. But it is small and very light.
Question: is that sound the real sound coming straight from the guitar in the video, showing umm no hook ups?..or is it decieving
Answer: Without being plugged into an amp, it sounds a lot like an electric does when not plugged in, though the heavier strings (elevens) give more than enough sound to practice or play quietly in hotel rooms. I use a VOX AC30 AmPlug (http://www.amazon.com/Vox-amPlug-AC30-Guitar-Headphone/dp/B000ZMYRJS) to get the full acoustic sound and this allows you to blend with music from an MP3 player so as to play along.
Question: Hi, is this an electric guitar
Answer: Yes. It has a piezoelectric pickup underneath the bridge (the dark wood piece near the bottom that the strings stretch over). I use mine with both regular amplifiers (e.g. marshal, fender) and headphone amps (e.g. vox amplug) and it SOUNDS GREAT. It sounds clean for country and acoustic songs, and it is powerful enough to drive amps for heavy metal sounds. The piezoelectric pickup is like many that are installed on fullsize acoustic guitars (that have a 1/4 jack for the guitar cable). If you do not plug the Traveler Ultralight into an amplifier, you can barely hear the strings. It sounds like "tink tink tink", it is like when an electric guitar is not plugged in, but the Ultralight's body is so dense that un-plugged it is much quieter than an un-plugged electric (e.g. tele, strat, or les paul). Traveler sells a "sister" model (Ultralight Electric) that looks almost identical, except it includes a "blade" electric guitar pickup between the bridge and the tuning keys. They also have another model ("Pro-Series") that includes both the piezo and blade pickups, but it has a removable wooden arm that includes knobs so you can adjust how much of each different pickup is heard. Go to their website, http://www.travelerguitar.com/ In the USA you can buy them at GuitarCenter stores. You can also buy them via Amazon. The basic Ultralight is $280-300, the "Electric" is appx $380, the "Pro" is $400.I LOVE mine. I can practice almost anywhere (even Not plugged in), I travel with it alot, I watch TV with my wife as I practice, I watch my son at his kung-foo class as I practice, I take it to bars and sit in the corner and practice to myself, I join jams with a minutes notice, I use at lunch at work... its great!

User questions & answers

Question: whats the dimensions
Answer: I'm same no problem
Question: Can it pair with a Bluetooth speaker, or with an iPhone to a speaker for amplification
Answer: IMHO, i believe it to be the blend of materials they use in making the shirt that keeps it from maintaining the odors. it is not 100% cotton (and cotton is known to stain in the arm pit area thus hanging onto odors if not creating the image that it does). it is slightly more moisture wicking than the normal T-shirt.
Question: What is the width at the nut in mm
Answer: The xl shrinks after a couple of washes and they are good if you are between 1.84-1.90 height and between 88-95kg
Question: Does it need to be connected to sound well? Or it Also works as a normal acustic guitar
Answer: Yes it does.

JOYO ZOMBIE II Amplifier 20 Watt Hybrid Mini Tube Head Bluetooth BanTamp XL Series with Foot Switch

JOYO

Based on 20 reviews Check latest price

Product description

The NEW BanTamP XL series is now available! Retaining the original tones and functions, BanTamP XL series features a channel switching footswitch, 6 knobs – specifically, both channels have independent control, giving you have better control over the volume, gain, and tone of the CLEAN and DISTORTION Channels. BanTamP XL series is a great choice for musicians who want to perform live with BanTamP series!

The Zombie II features the same tone as the classic Zombie which is built on the iconic tone of an American 150 watt head.

The FX loop enables you to put your time based effects or modulation effects behind the drive section and keep the effects sharp and prevent them from sounding too muddy. Because of the high gain structure of this amp a noise gate is a good idea to make your heavy chords nice and tight. The amp also has a CLEAN channel that can take pedals really well, which makes it flexible and a great little companion for many situations where your "big" head is too much. The amp has a speaker out rated at 8Ω. Careful, the amp is small, but very loud! Its 20 Watts can be quite a handful, enough for a rehearsal or small gig. If you want to practice quietly, use the built in headphone out with speaker emulation. The icing on the cake is the BLUETOOTH connectivity.

Features:

Preamp circuit: Operational amplifier + 1 x 12AX7

Power amp: CLASS D

User questions & answers

Question: Can you use just the headphones with no load
Answer: I do not see why not. 4 string tenor CGDA or if you like Irish tuning try the GDAE string both cheap enough to try them out. The 5 string sets will not be good
Question: Will it run with a Marshall half stack
Answer: The 'E' stands for 'Environment', any strings with this prefix should have no plastic packaging.
Question: Can I use a 24 volt/4 amp dc power supply to power the amp
Answer: To me they fit pretty casual. I think I’m more of a medium and I buy my shirts large so they always fit casual though.

User questions & answers

Question: Do you plug the headphones directly into it or plug it into an amp and the headphones out of the amp
Answer: You can plug your headphones directly into it.
Question: Can you attach shoulder straps to the case or does the case come with straps
Answer: There were straps on the case already attached but I never loosened them because the violin was cracked.
Question: Hi, I'm really interested in this product, but will the strings of the violin be tuned
Answer: Hello Firas A. I saw your question about the violin strings, and I did a ton of research on this before I got it, so I'm to help another person do the same. I got this thing earlier this year, being a newbie at the violin thing, so I'm not an expert critic on the product. However, when I received mine, my strings were installed, but not in tune. The bridge had also fallen over (the light-wood thing that holds the strings up), but that was easy to re-erect. I found a free violin tuner app for my phone, and used that to tune my violin. The strings aren't the greatest quality, but they will work until you can get them replaced with a set of good ones. Over all, the whole deal wasn't bad. Just be sure to buy a shoulder rest....
Question: Someone told me that this violin does not come with strings when you buy it, is that true
Answer: This violin comes with all the strings. I am very satisfied with the purchase as I play every week for my church and since I'm the only stringed instrument I need to be heard!

Cecilio Electric Violin

Whether you're practicing, recording in studio or performing on stage, the Cecilio electric violin outfit offers excellent functionality and style. It provides violinists of all levels with the ability to practice confidently without disturbing others. The outfit features a 1/8 output jack that allows you to connect to most guitar amps or PA systems (1/4 to 1/8 cable included), volume control that allow you to choose the ambience you want, headphone jack for practice and a line-in jack for practice with a background track. This violin package includes a well-padded lightweight hard case, a bow, rosin, bridge, pickup, aux cable, and headphones. Great for Student, Intermediate and Professional Violinist.

How to choose violin sizes

Violins are available in 8 different sizes: 4/4 (also called full size), 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/10, 1/16 and 1/32. Size 4/4 is the biggest and size 1/32 is the smallest. All adults, regardless of their size, use the size 4/4 violin.

To measure what size violin best suits you, you need to know the length between your neck and the middle of your left-hand palm (when your hand is fully extended and raised perpendicular to your body, just like holding a violin). Most of the teachers prefer students to use the length from the neck to the wrist for measurement instead of the neck to mid-palm approach. The violin size determined by the neck/wrist approach would be the size that is more comfortable for students to hold. The violin size determined by the neck/mid-palm approach would be the biggest size students should use. The following table lists the length of each violin size. Find your length using your preferred approach and use that to determine the size of violin to get.

If you have a teacher, you should ask for your teacher's recommendation. If you don't have a teacher, we would recommend using the neck/wrist approach for students not using full size; for students who are deciding whether to used size 3/4 or size 4/4, use the neck/mid-palm approach. This is because it is always better those students feeling comfortable holding and playing the violin. However, while deciding between size 3/4 and size 4/4, if neck/mid-palm approach allows for size 4/4, then buying a size 4/4 is more economical since you don't have to buy another bigger size violin later. This is completely based on economical consideration. You should still decide what best suits your need.

User questions & answers

Question: On the NW (classical), can you tell me if the bridge saddle is perfectly 90 degrees to the fretboard/parallel with the nut? Or is it slightly angled
Answer: It’s 100% parallel to the nut on mine but I never noticed any intonation issues. My other classical guitars have very slight (and unadjustable) angles, so the manufacturer is just guessing about the difference in gauge between strings anyway.
Question: does it include a headphone
Answer: Headphones, no. It includes ear buds.
Question: Does this one include the gig bag
Answer: Yes, this includes the gig bag
Question: Does it comes with the gigbag
Answer: Yes. It's a special compact bag for that guitar. The upper part of the guitar are detachable, so in the bag this part and the guitar are stored separately. As the result the bag is more compact comparing with the regular bag for a classical guitar. The quality of the bag is Ok - it is made from hard nylon, but it's thinner than the regular bag, so I guess it's not very protective. Works ok for me to store the guitar at home.

User questions & answers

Question: Does it work with Nylon strings
Answer: The guitar is designed for steel strings. Since the neck is 3/4 size, I do not think it will work with nylon strings. The good news is that the action with steel strings is very light, and it is easier to play than a standard steel string guitar. The action is more like an electric guitar. I am using a small Roland Cube 30X amp, and the sound is great. I really like this guitar, and I am using it as my primary instrument now. Hope these notes help.
Question: How do I get a manual for my guitar or at least a link to a manual? I requested one from traveler with no response
Answer: It is pretty much like any guitar
Question: Is this guitar "comfortable" to play with? Can I rest my arm on the body of this for strumming? I can't with the Ultra-Lite - my arm starts to cramp
Answer: I upgraded to this guitar from the Escape Original. It certainly is more comfortable and natural to play than the original. I would say the body is not thick enough to rest your arm as such when strumming or picking but it is better balanced when sitting than original. Have had no issues with arm cramps. The upgraded electronics is a big plus with specific input for headphones, onboard tuner and aux input for an Mp3 source while playing. No regrets on this upgrade.
Question: Is It silent when I put on the headphone? So I could practice without disturbing my family at mid-night. Thanks
Answer: Hi, with headphones you will hear it as loud as you put its volume. Out of headphones is as silent (or not) as an electric guitar with solid body unplugged.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this particular model come with a stephoscope headphone such as the headphone that comes with the traveler guitar pro-series hybrid acoustic guit
Answer: Nope, this model does not have it...
Question: Since this guitar is a hybrid, acoustic/electric guitar, which headphone amp should one buy to go with it
Answer: There is no mistaking that this is an electric guitar... (which just happens to have a piezo pickup). Pick headphone amp accordingly (I use an iPad with Garageband).
Question: Does the coil split (on the black model) make the dual rail humbucker sound as clean as a single-coil pickup
Answer: Well ... sort of. It does make a difference but the overall sound depends a lot on the amp you are plugging into. Remember that everything about this guitar is a compromise, but hey, it fits in a suitcase and that was the main criterion for me. Cheers.
Question: Does this model require an amp or can you use headphones only thru a vox ap2bl or similar
Answer: You can play directly into a headphone amp and then to headphones. I use a VOX AP2AC on it (very similar to the AP2BL, but lacks the distortion option from the BL) and it works great.

User questions & answers

Question: If have noisey rig will it keep it clean?, i run my stuff through a guitar amp but i play bass
Answer: No it won't. It is really only designed to cut the disconnect and reconnect popping noise from happening. You know that noise from you amp when plugging in. It has to do with the collar at the base of the jack. In the case of the one you are looking at, enlarging the red 90 degree one. That collar remains disengaged up till the Jack is fully seated. If your rig is making noise no plug will fix it. It's either power supply. Ambient lighting or house not grounded or adequately grounded amp switches or pots grounding issue or even the guitar not properly grounded. Eliminate the easy stuff first by using another amp, plug to different location if things change you found your issue. If not and still get noise search EBtech Hum X. Better place to start with.

User questions & answers

Question: Why would anyone buy this as a travel guitar when it won't save you a bit of space, and without a full body the sustain will be horrible
Answer: The smaller the gauge, the thinner the strings are. Usually, people refer to them as "9s, 10s, 11s and sometimes 12s." That refers to the high E string (the smallest one) at 0.009mm thick, 0.10mm thick, 0.11mm etc... If you're a beginner, 9s will be the easiest to play, but you may be better off using 10s right from the start so you can build up some strength. But you don't want playing to be uncomfortable. To be honest, the best way to learn and to gain finger strength would be by playing acoustic guitar
Question: Any tips to avoid crushing the whammy bar into the Volume knob on dive bombs? Is a aftermarket whammy bar that helps
Answer: That is correct. These go from .011 to .049. Best, -Brian
Question: can it fit a carry on luggage
Answer: I would say they are closer to the light than the medium gauge. They are bright in tone. You might explore the topic further in the forum on www.banjohangout.org. Lots of information there.
Question: why do you supose they did not do something with the look of the bridges tone block? MHP unsightly
Answer: Yes, indeed-O! These are great strings (I prefer the medium weight).
