User questions & answers
Question: | Why is the price $899 on my order but the guitar is listing for $1199 ...is there a difference |
Answer: | 3/8ths what... deep. ...wide??? |
Question: | I thought the 602 had the bone breaker pickups |
Answer: | The sound hole on my BC Rich guitar is 3 7/8". The diameter of the plug where it fits in the sound hole is 4". It is flexible enough that I can fit it into my guitar, but with extra effort. Note that my guitar has a brace under the fingerboard where it meets the sound hole, so I had to flatten that part of the rubber (at the top in the photo). Depending how close your guitar's top braces come to the sound hole edge, you may have to do the same if your sound hole is 3 7/8". |
Question: | Why is there such a difference in price between the black and purple versions |
Answer: | Probably a little - but the purpose of it is too reduce feedback when your acoustic/electric guitar is plugged in. |
Question: | Does this guitar come with a case? amzn product title: esp ltd kh-602 signature series kirk hammett electric guitar with case, black |
Answer: | We do recommend pre-drilling to help avoid twisting off the heads of the screws during installation, particularly when using a powered drill. We've found that a scratch awl with a fine or sharp point works well to make the initial mark and a 1/16" drill bit to pre-drill the holes. |

Question: | Does this come with a soft carrying case |
Answer: | Mine did not come with a case. I am currently using a base guitar case to take it out. It does not fit in my other electric guitar case. |
Question: | How long does this take to ship if I ordered with prime |
Answer: | Typical Prime Shipping. |
Question: | Is this guitar suitable for anything but metal, as-is? I like goth, shoegaze, and some sludge metal |
Answer: | Baritone guitar was originally designed for country music and surf music. It just added more depth to the sound having mastered octaves within the group. Think if a baritone guitar this way; it’s basically playing a seven string without the seventh string. Same basic tuning and range. It just has a longer scale allowing for it to tune to B standard instead of E standard. To me it sounds gorgeous clean and even better distorted. It’s PERFECT for sludge and shoe gaze. In fact most recordings you hear where the band is tuned lower it was most likely a baritone guitar used to make that recording. If you try to tune to the B or Dropped A race on a standard 24.75-25.5” scale guitar you’re going to have to use crazy heavy strings so it doesn’t sound flubby and then you’ll most likely run into intonation problems as well as having to slit the nut for tuning stability. A baritone guitar (26.5” scale and above ) is ALWAYS preferable to down tuning a standard guitar just because the sound and stability are far far superior |
Question: | baritone guitar"??? I have been playing for over 40 years and never heard of a baratone guitar. What does baratone imply |
Answer: | Baritone guitar was created in the 1950’s for country and surf music. Actually I believe the Fender bass VI came first and then was basically converted to a baritone guitar. Baritone guitar is a longer scale guitar beginning at 26.5” and your standard range to truly be a baritone is generally 27.7”. The longer scale allows for more string tension and is generally tuned in B standard. When it was created it was just to give a layered octave within the total band mix for more depth. Baritone guitar actually sounds extremely gorgeous both clean and dirty. Generally when you down tune below drop C on a standard guitar you have to exponentially go up on your string gauges to eliminate flubby tone and string tension. Then you have to slot the nut to accommodate the larger string gauge but you generally still have intonation issues because of the shorter scale on a standard guitar. So in essence a baritone guitar is a 7 string guitar without the 7th string. It’s the same low B tuning with superior playability, tone, and stability. It’s the unholy union of bass and guitar to create the Mecca of tuning low. When I say tuning low though don’t let it fool you. The sound is gorgeous and full. Nearly any and every recording you’ve ever heard with a lower tuned guitar was most likely made using a baritone guitar. It’s a must own for any studio |

ESP Guitars - About the Company
In 1975, a new musical instrument shop called Electric Sound Products opened in Tokyo, Japan. In the back of the store was a small area for making custom replacement parts for guitars and basses. Today, ESP’s Custom Shop, Original Series, E-II, Signature and LTD brands make guitars, basses, and cases for every style of music, and are available in more than 100 countries.
ESP has been recognized for its high quality standards and meticulous craftsmanship since the company was founded. Every ESP instrument is inspected thoroughly by our quality control technicians prior to shipping to your local dealer. All ESP instruments are covered by our limited lifetime warranty so you can rest assured that your new instrument will bring you many years of enjoyment!
For our 40th anniversary in 2015, we’ve created a selection of very special limited-edition guitars to commemorate this important milestone in our history.
