User questions & answers
Question: | How wide is the neck of the guitar around the top 5 frets |
Answer: | About 2 inches. |
Question: | does the 1/2 size have a two tone top? The picture shows a slight line running down the middle that appears to be two tones/two pieces |
Answer: | Yes, the top is two pieces of laminated spruce. This is a standard practice for just about every guitar manufacturer. |
Question: | I'm a 4'10" adult with tiny baby hands. Looking for smaller guitar so certain chords are easier to play. Which size should I get |
Answer: | This probably won't do, as the fretboard is rather wide. A parlor guitar is more your fit. The Little Martin or be the Peavey Composer is small, but sound good. Check them out. |
Question: | Is there an option to have it strung for a left-handed child |
Answer: | You can always string a guitar backwards, but as a lefty who plays right-handed, I'd strongly urge having the child learn the normal way. So many times you wind up at a party where there's a guitar, and if you can't play it because you've learned a non-standard way, you've severely limited your opportunities. Besides, the left hand which does the fretting has an advantage for a lefty. |

Question: | This may be a dumb question but, is this for both right and left handed players |
Answer: | Right handed |
Question: | I am purchasing as a gift for my husband and I am wondering about the different between nato, mahogany, and rosewood |
Answer: | I bought the mahogany because I play more mellow jazz and mahogany has a more mellow sound to me. Rosewood has a brighter tone more fitted to rock. |
Question: | Hi. is it really solid top? love the guitar sound, but i see a little seam going across the top dividing it into two halves? tnx |
Answer: | It is a what is called a solid top guitar. It is two pieces of solid wood. Its hard to find a tree big enough to cut a one piece top out of. This is normal for all guitar manufactures even big name brands. Oh and by the way Yamaha is a big name in guitar. Probably the most consistent in quality an construction. Best bang for the buck out there. I have many guitars and in a blind test of family and friends all say my A1R sounds the best. Yes I have more expensive other brands one is all solid top and body but none compare. The sound will only get better with age with your FGX830C YOU HAVE CHOSEN WISELY. |
Question: | Which is the best fgx830 or fgx |
Answer: | even better than fgx830 and fgx830 is the fgx830 |

A Modern Parlor Guitar
The Yamaha CSF1M combines the portability of a travel guitar with the focused tonal characteristics of a parlor guitar—making it ideal for both the road and the destination. Special forward-shifted scalloped bracing enhances bass response while increasing the overall resonance of the solid Sitka spruce top, resulting a surprisingly big acoustic and amplified sound.
- CSF is available as a solid-top CSF1M and CSF-TA (TransAcoustic), or all-solid CSF3M.
- All models feature solid Sitka spruce mopboards, and mahogany back & sides.
- Guitars come with a durable deluxe gig bag for easy transport.
For the Road and the Destination
CSF series guitars can be inspiring alternatives to full-size dreadnought guitars when recording, providing a full, rich, and resonant sound that can stand alone even on recordings where the acoustic guitar is prominently featured.
CSF guitars feature passive undersaddle pickups that utilize the same sensor found in Yamaha L-Series acoustic-electrics—enabling players to easily plug into an amplifier or PA system when performing live.
With their compact size and included deluxe gig bags, CSF series guitars make ideal travel companions.
Compact body, full-size sound
Despite their compact size, which some guitarists find more comfortable to play than larger instruments, CSF series guitars feature an all-new design that increases bass response and overall loudness, resulting in a surprisingly full, rich, and vibrant sound.
CSF series guitars utilize newly-designed scalloped bracing that delivers rich, full-bodied resonance comparable to that of a full-size guitar. Additionally, the use of a forward-shifted construction maintains the strength of the body while maximizing the resonance of the guitar top.

User questions & answers
Question: | How do you attach the guitar strap? There aren’t instructions for it and I don’t see attachments |
Answer: | There is a place on the bottom of the guitar to attach one end. The other end has a smaller string that can be attached to the strap using the little metal clip. I just used the smaller loop to make a loop around the end of the neck of the guitar (under the strings) and attached it that way. Most guitars have another button on the other side of the main body behind the neck, but this one does not. |
Question: | Do you have to put the strings on |
Answer: | No. The strings are already on. |
Question: | Please share the Return policy on this item |
Answer: | I don’t know. It came in perfect condition. |
Question: | Can this guitar be hooked up to an amp |
Answer: | Sorry, no this one can not. It's a beautiful sounding guitar, but no amp connection. |
