14 best washburn acoustic guitar strings

Washburn is a well-known brand in the musical instruments industry, including guitars. While we don't have specific details about Washburn acoustic guitar strings, we can provide some general information on what to consider when looking for guitar strings:

  1. String Types:

    • Acoustic guitars typically use steel strings. There are different types of steel strings, such as phosphor bronze and 80/20 bronze, each offering a unique tone.
  2. Gauge:

    • Gauge refers to the thickness of the strings. Lighter gauge strings are easier to play but may sacrifice some volume and tone. Heavier gauge strings can provide a fuller sound but may be harder on the fingers.
  3. Coating:

    • Some strings come with coatings (e.g., phosphor bronze coating) to prolong their lifespan by protecting against corrosion and dirt. Coated strings often retain their brightness longer.
  4. Tension:

    • The tension of the strings can affect the playability and feel of the guitar. Higher tension strings may provide more volume and projection.
  5. Brand Compatibility:

    • While you may choose Washburn strings for a Washburn guitar, many guitarists mix and match brands to find the strings that best suit their playing style and preferences.
  6. Playing Style:

    • Different strings may be better suited to various playing styles. For example, fingerstyle players might prefer different strings than those who predominantly use a pick.
  7. Washburn Recommendations:

    • Washburn may offer specific recommendations for string types and gauges that complement their guitars. Checking the official Washburn website or consulting with the manufacturer can provide guidance.
  8. String Changing Frequency:

    • The frequency of changing strings depends on how often you play and the environmental conditions.Regular string changes are necessary to maintain a fresh, vibrant tone.

When selecting Washburn acoustic guitar strings, consider your playing preferences, musical style, and the specific sound characteristics you desire. Experimenting with different string types and gauges can help you find the combination that best suits your playing style and enhances the tone of your Washburn acoustic guitar.

User questions & answers

Question: Is it shipped safely? I have had alot alot of problems lately with damaged instruments
Answer: Although mine came undamaged, it could have been packed with more cushioning...
Question: Does it include strap peg at bottom of neck
Answer: No, but I was going to install strap locks anyway...
Question: Is the wood used for this guitar solid or laminate? I know what the description says, but one reviewer felt misled, so I thought I'd ask
Answer: This is a laminate guitar all the way around. Koa wood, but laminate Koa. Solid Koa wood acoustics are thousands of dollars. Today's laminates are incredible in tone compared with guitars from 10 years ago. Very hard many times to tell the difference. Technology has improved vastly in the last decade.
Question: so the rosewood is 41 x 16 x 5 inches, and the ovankol is 20 x 8 x 50 inches? it's quite significant difference in sizes, can anyone confirm this
Answer: These should be exact same size .. whatever is standard grand auditorium size. I rarely see accurate dimensions on Amazon .. prob shipping size. I believe the styles, rosewood and ovangkol refer to the fretboard wood; where it indicates the ovangkol is newest version.

User questions & answers

Question: what kind of cable should I purchase for this guitar
Answer: Look for guitar cable with quarter inch jack. You should also buy a guitar jack extender for the guitar. The input jack on the Washburn acoustics tend to come loose but a jack extender won't allow that to jappen. If you're not sure how to put it on, you should take it to a guotar store. It takes about a minute to install. Good luck!

User questions & answers

Question: Does the washburn have a radiused fingerboard? Or is it flat? Thanks
Answer: I checked.. It is Flat.
Question: How sturdy is the case? I plan to use this guitar on a rafting trip (in a waterproof bag). Would the case be strong enough? Thanks
Answer: I put mine in a plastic garbage bag and tied it down on my motorcycle!!! The case is very sturdy. When I took it out to play it wasn't even out of tune!! It's a great case. Enjoy.
Question: Where can I purchase a hard case for the guitar
Answer: Don't believe there is a hard case available for this model/style, there is a gig bag which comes with it and is pretty durable though not a hard case. You may want to contact Washburn to see if they do have a hard case available on the market or see if they plan on bringing out a model that does.
Question: how much does the guitar weigh
Answer: I measured it on a kitchen scale (could balance the entire unit on it surprisingly well) with my light weight Ernie Ball strap attached, and it weighed in at 2 lbs. 4.8 oz. For comparison, the Washburn strap that it came with weighs in on its own at 2.4 oz. Why the Ernie Ball strap? The Washburn strap is fine, unless yours smells like a an off-gassing rave at the chemical plant.
