12 best keyboard sound module
A keyboard sound module, also known as a sound module or MIDI sound module, is a device used in electronic music production and performance. It is designed to produce a wide range of musical sounds and is typically used in conjunction with an external MIDI controller, such as a keyboard, synthesizer, or drum pad. Here's what you should know about keyboard sound modules:
Sound Generation: Keyboard sound modules are equipped with sound synthesis engines that generate a variety of musical sounds, including instrument sounds (e.g., pianos, guitars, trumpets), percussion sounds (e.g., drums, cymbals), and electronic sounds (e.g., synthesizers, effects).
MIDI Connectivity: Sound modules are MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) compatible, which means they can receive MIDI data from an external controller. This data includes information about which notes to play, their duration, and the velocity of each note.
External Control: Musicians use an external MIDI controller, such as a keyboard, to trigger and control the sounds generated by the sound module. The controller sends MIDI signals to the module, which then produces the corresponding sounds.
Sound Libraries: Sound modules often come with built-in sound libraries that include a wide variety of instrument and sound presets.Users can select and customize these presets to create the desired musical tones.
Expandability: Some sound modules allow for the expansion of sound libraries through the use of additional sound cartridges or software updates. This enables users to access new sounds and features over time.
Portability: Sound modules are typically compact and lightweight, making them easy to transport and integrate into a musician's setup.
Studio Recording: Keyboard sound modules are commonly used in recording studios to add high-quality instrument sounds to musical productions. They offer a convenient way to access a vast array of sounds without the need for physical instruments.
Live Performances: Musicians use sound modules in live performances to recreate the sounds of multiple instruments or to add electronic and synthesized elements to their music.
Synthesis Methods: Sound modules can use various synthesis methods, including sample-based synthesis, subtractive synthesis, and wavetable synthesis, to generate sounds.
Effects Processing: Some sound modules include built-in effects processors for adding reverb, chorus, delay, and other audio effects to the generated sounds.
Compatibility: Sound modules are compatible with a wide range of MIDI controllers, including keyboards, MIDI drum pads, MIDI wind controllers, and more.
Budget and High-End Options: Sound modules are available at different price points, from budget-friendly options for beginners to high-end models with advanced features and sound quality.
Software Sound Modules: In addition to hardware sound modules, there are also software-based sound modules (virtual instruments or VSTi) that run on computers and integrate into digital audio workstations (DAWs).
Keyboard sound modules are versatile tools for musicians and music producers, offering a convenient way to access a vast palette of sounds and expand the creative possibilities in music composition, production, and live performances. The choice of a sound module depends on the specific needs and preferences of the musician or producer, as well as the types of sounds they wish to incorporate into their music.

Question: | I am new to the world of midi - does this unit have a speaker of some sort, or do i need to connect it to an external speaker |
Answer: | You need a MIDI keyboard(or computer) and a speaker. |
Question: | Can this be connected to external speakers using headphone jack |
Answer: | Rule of thumb: if you can connect your speakers to your PC or laptop via its headphone jack, you can connect the miniEngine in the same way via its headphone jack. |
Question: | will it work with a kindle tablet power supply |
Answer: | Mine seems to charge with just about any mini usb charger or usb computer connection. I don't think you'll have trouble finding a source to charge it. When the battery gets low, the unit starts malfunctioning, wrong voices will come up, and the buttons don't work properly. Once charged it works properly. |

Everything You Love About Vintage JUNOs—In One Synth
For many, vintage Roland JUNO synthesizers define the sound of the ‘80s. Increasingly popular on the used market, many keyboardists either want one, or deeply regret selling one back in the day. With the JU-06A you get the sound, look, and features of both the JUNO-60 and JUNO-106 in one reliable, modern instrument that you can take anywhere.
The JU-06A is compact, yet comfortable for long studio sessions and epic live performances. It runs on batteries and has a handy built-in speaker, so JUNO goes where you go. The tough metal panels and smooth sliders with metal shafts feel great and stand up to the rigors of life on the road (even if it's just your daily commute). And it totally looks the part, with the authentic vintage styling we all know and love.
Two classic JUNOs in one
The JU-06A is the best of the JUNO-60 and JUNO-106 in one synth. It has the continuous high-pass filter of the 106, the envelope-controllable pulse-width-modulation of the 60, and the unique filter behavior of both, instantly switchable from the front panel. The sound is indistinguishable from its vintage counterparts, even while tweaking controls or using extreme settings. And no vintage JUNO would be complete without the swirling sound of its legendary chorus, faithfully recreated, right down to the lovable (and thankfully adjustable) noise.
Arpeggio, chord memory, and step sequencer
While you may prefer the filter of the JUNO-106, you might miss the arpeggio function on the JUNO-60. The JU-06A has both—and throws in chord memory and an onboard sequencer to boot. Creating sequenced lines with chord memory results in polyphonic phrases so thick they have no business coming from something that fits in your backpack.
MIDI, USB and external clock input
With USB audio/MIDI and full-sized MIDI jacks, you play and synchronize with just about any piece of gear. There’s also an external clock input, so you can sync to vintage analog instruments or modern Eurorack systems. Not only is this convenient, but using external clock to drive the onboard sequencer can result in unexpected phrases, rhythmic variations, and other happy accidents.
Add keys and more
Its compact size means the JU-06A fits just about anywhere, easily controlled from a master keyboard or DAW. Add a DK-01 Boutique Dock for a polished look and three convenient tilt positions. Or add a K-25m Keyboard Unit and you have a totally self-contained, portable instrument offering an unleashed experience free of wires and other complications.

User questions & answers
Question: | How does this S-engine compare with the little midiplus sound module (the blue one)? Are the sounds the same? the s-engine is a little more expensive |
Answer: | I don't have the small one so can't make a direct comparison. Before I ordered, I downloaded the manuals from the manufacturer's website. The S Engine has more features and seemed more "professional "Now I have it, I am sure I made the right decision |
Question: | can I use my ewi with this |
Answer: | yes |
Question: | What sounds does it make |
Answer: | It has two banks of 64 sounds each. I usually use the GM bank because my midi controller does not allow me to switch to the EMU bank automatically. I rarely use the 100 drum patterns. |
Question: | It does Work whit cakewalk or any software |
Answer: | This is an external sound module plugged to a contoller. This is not a software base sound module that can be installed in PC. You can record the sound coming out from it's audio out to your cakewalk software. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this have 1/4” audio out for a amp connection |
Answer: | The Korg DS-Dac 100m works fine with my Sennheiser HD 598 headphones, sounds great. You will need an adapter for the front plug. Earbuds willwork very well to, I use both. Hope this helps! |
Question: | Is there a difference between the pianobox and the pianobox pro in terms of the quality of the sounds? does the pianobox pro has orchestral sounds |
Answer: | According to Korg it is essentially the same thing in a compact design with different connections. However, Korg touts the DSDAC100 as being of higher quality than the Dsdac100M version so there could be something that they are not telling us about the differences. The inclusion of different connectors with a different impedance, as an example, could have resulted in slightly different circuitry inside to accommodate them. It would not surprise me if the converters were different as well. |
Question: | If my keyboard also has a sustain pedal, does the pianobox also play the pedal |
Answer: | RCA on the back are line level, headphone output on the front is controlled by buttons |
Question: | does it come with the usb dc power adapter? if not, where is the power adapter available |
Answer: | You may have to get a pair of mini -jack 3.5mm to XLR inputs or the 1/4 inch TRS to XLR inputs. And it all depends on what's the inputs on your monitor. |
- Provides 128 standard GM tones, up to 64 polyphony output.
- 16 bit sampling accuracy of the data, 48kHz sampling frequency, 24dB sound digital filtering.
- Data rotary knob to adjust Volume, Program, Reverb effects.
- Support all the MIDI devices that have MIDI output or USB output.
- Support MIDI IN and USB HOST working simultaneously.

Question: | What's the difference between 'style 2' and 'style |
Answer: | External required. There are a few choices there. |
Question: | Can I use this on my car audio system |
Answer: | The dimensions on the official site are the correct ones: 56.42” x 14.61” x 5.83”. |
Question: | Does it have a charger |
Answer: | The keyabord is just 4 months old, and I think it does have a fan to cool it off inside and the boot-up is only 30 to 45 seconds only. |
Question: | Does it have a charger included on the product |
Answer: | The K2 has double the SSD size, double the RAM(not 100% sure on this one), the keyboard is angled better for viewing, contains extra program add-ons such as the Berlin Pianos(which by themselves are pretty expensive) as well as considerably more combinations and programs. It also has a vented rear top (older ones were more prone to overheating), gold plated connectors in the rear for higher quality connectivity. Has a different and so far a better motherboard than the others. This is what comes to mind so far. Hope it helps! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I somehow substitute a TD-50 or TD-30 v-drums sound module for this Integra-7 one? I play piano and drums and want to use ONLY one sound module |
Answer: | Hi, sure no problem, just place your order and be sure to put all her info into the shipping section including her arrival date at the hotel so they can hold it for her if it arrives earlier than expected. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you |
Question: | Do the piano voices support half pedal |
Answer: | No, you'd need to hook your turntable into your phone, record onto that, separate the sample you want and then transfer to the Volca Sample. |
Question: | Which Orchestral instruments can the Integra-7 create |
Answer: | With regards to your first question, no, the MIDI implementation is not the same as the VOLCA BEATS (or the BASS or KEYS for that matter). Whereas the BEATS/BASS/KEYS each work off a single MIDI Channel (default for BEATS is 10 and default for KEYS/BASS is 1) the SAMPLE uses MIDI channels 1 - 10, 1 channel for each of the 10 usable samples. I'm sure you could overcome this with whatever DAW you're using, but your mileage may vary. Hope that helps. |
Question: | Are the 6000 sounds listed anywhere |
Answer: | You can use iTunes File Sharing. Also, the Volca Sample SDK was recently released. This enables user to build their own data input tool. If you don't know how to code it turns out that any tool created by the community will be shared. See more at: http://www.korg.com/us/news/2014/1118/#sthash.GFL0tV4X.dpuf |

Powerhouse Rack For Fast, Fluid Workflow
With the development of SuperNATURAL sound and Behavior Modeling technology, Roland has blurred the boundary between acoustic and electronic instruments. Built upon these core technologies, the new INTEGRA-7 gives musicians a gold mine of the latest SuperNATURAL sounds in a fast-access, fully stocked 16-part module. The powerhouse rack comprises a “greatest hits” collection of sounds from Roland’s flagship keyboards and V-Drums modules, plus a coveted lineup from the legacy SRX library. It also introduces a new technology called Motional Surround, a 17-part ambience engine that lets you graphically control the distance and position of each part within 360-degree sound field. With the immense power of the INTEGRA-7, you can create amazingly realistic and detailed orchestral arrangements, immersive, spatial sounds, and beyond.
SuperNATURAL Synthesizer
The INTEGRA-7’s SuperNATURAL powers reach beyond acoustic instruments. It’s loaded with SuperNATURAL synth tones that meticulously recreate the fat sounds of beloved vintage synthesizers, including their expressive filters and unique envelope behaviors. Hundreds of PCM waveforms are on board as well, providing a treasure trove of>INTEGRA-7 plug-in editors for Mac (AU/VSTi) and Windows (VSTi).
SuperNATURAL Drums and SFX
Thanks to Behavior Modeling Technology, the INTEGRA-7 SuperNATURAL drum engine can groove like a real drummer. Drum kits respond smoothly and naturally to velocity, with seamless tonal transitions from soft to loud. Play fast drum fills that don’t sound like fake machine-gun fire, and create fluid snare, tom, and cymbal rolls with real-time control of their speed and volume via mod lever. The drum engine even has its own ambience effect, plus six COMP+EQ sets, which you can apply to the drum instruments individually.
Motional Surround
The INTEGRA-7 introduces a new era of spatial sound design. Motional Surround — derived from Roland’s proprietary RSS (Roland Sound Space) technology — lets you control not only the left/right panning of sounds, but also their depth, even placing them behind you! A solo instrument can be placed nearby, for example, while the backing or percussion instruments can be placed at a distance, thus creating a sound field with natural width and depth. Motional Surround is particularly stunning when applied to orchestral simulations.
First-Class Hardware
The hardware design of the INTEGRA-7 is stylish and sturdy. Housed in a rugged metal chassis, it’s beautifully designed and built to withstand decades of use, whether in a studio or a touring road rack. The INTEGRA-7’s internal components are premium grade, including high-quality, low-noise D/A converters. It’s also equipped with dedicated effects engines, so you don’t have to worry about CPU load; each of the 16 parts can have their own MFX and EQ, rather than sharing the same effects for all parts.

Built from the same technology found in MOTU's flagship MIDI Timepiece, the micro lite is a professional MIDI interface that provides portable, plug-and-play connectivity to any USB-equipped Macintosh or Windows computer. The micro lite provides 5 MIDI IN, 5 MIDI OUT, 80 MIDI channels and compatibility with all Macintosh and Windows software. Large front-panel LEDs illuminate to indicate MIDI activity. The micro lite takes full advantage of USB, giving you high-speed MIDI throughput, sub-millisecond timing accuracy, support for "hot-swapping" and plug-and-play expansion. Need to connect another sound module or synth? No problem. Just add another MOTU USB MIDI interface via any available USB port. And the micro lite is powered by the USB port -- no wall wart or AC plug. With its attractive yet rugged metal casing, the micro lite slides easily into a shoulder bag or briefcase for ultra-compact portability and convenient desktop operation. Removable rack attachments, as well as a custom center-joint fastener, are included and allow you to easily mount two micro lites side by side in a standard 19-inch equipment rack.

User questions & answers
Question: | would this work in addition to my novation audio interfacer. at the same time thru seperate usb |
Answer: | No, you can,t. It has more features (non documented) when connecting to a midi keyboard. |
Question: | Will this interface work with Cubase |
Answer: | garbage |
Question: | Does it include the USB cable |
Answer: | The adapter that I purchased did not work |
Question: | Sounds like what I need...Does it work on Win |
Answer: | Me too! I was contemplating this arrangement just the other day, because the Integra-7 does indeed have all the sounds from a TD-50 or TD-30 (and then some). What it's missing, though, is the ability to capture the trigger signals from v-drums, which is what the TD-50 or TD-30 give you. The thing I was looking for that the TD-30 is missing is digital audio output, which the Integra-7 has. So, this is the highest-quality but cheapest arrangement I came up with: Use the TD-30 for capturing the triggers, but use MIDI OUT to the Integra-7 for sounds. This gives you one sound module for audio, but you still have the TD-30 (or other head) which is necessary to capture the performance data and convert that into MIDI signals that drive the sound module. I hope this helps! |

Question: | Does this have or any one figure how to do 3/4 time or 6/8 time? or is it based strictly on |
Answer: | I've never managed to get 3/4 or 6/8 out of the unit and I've tried. |
Question: | Is the power cord included |
Answer: | No |
Question: | Can I plug it into my amp |
Answer: | Yes, William, you can plug it into your amp. There's a headphone output on the back, a miniature jack, so you'll need to get an adapter to 1/4 inch phone jack for your guitar amp input, and off you go, dude. |
Question: | What cable do I need , my amp takes |
Answer: | What I like about this thing is it has a decent internal speaker so you don't necessarily need to plug it into an amp. The korg uses a 1/8" jack for the headphone/line-out. To plug the device into your guitar amp, I use a 1/8" cable to a 1/8 to 1/4 adapter. There are two 1/4 jacks on the back of the KR mini, but these are designated for the optional foot switches. As for the other answer, I'm hoping he maybe knows something that I don't. |
