Answer:	I use a large cat pan for my rabbit's litter box (lined with newspaper and filled with hay) and keep her in an exercise pen - check out midwest life stages pens. I've used this set up with other rabbits before and they are nearly 100% litter box trained. Spaying/neutering also helps them consistently go in one place and makes them lose the desire to mark.
Question:	How deep is the pan
Answer:	The mesh is perfectly safe and has been the mainstay of caring breeders of rabbits for ages. Removing it will cause serious harm to the animal. Urine (ammonia) burns them and mats their fur. They cannot sit in their own feces, this would be cruel. If you put in carpet, wash it daily or they will sit in urine on there as well, and they can eat the fibers which will kill them. If you do not already know these things then perhaps owning a rabbit is not for you. read thoroughly on how to care for creatures BEFORE purchasing one. If you have purchased said animal for a child, may I remind you animals are NOT toys! Rabbits need removed from their cages once a week for bathing, and once a day for at least an hour of exercise time. If you plan to keep it caged 24/7, then take it to a local shelter or return it to the store where you bought it. Also be reminded that animal cruelty is now a felony in all 50 states.
