Answer:	it does not have onboard digital effects. I use it to mix drums and use outboard effects boxes (DBX compression etc) I really appreciate its silence and transparency. It does a great job handling the frequency extremes of drums and cymbals( good mics help of course but the mixer does not get in the way.) It does a great job for the money.

Question:	The output is line or mic level
Answer:	This item is more of a "line-in selector/mixer" that lets you mix and control inputs from keyboards, stereo sources like tape decks, samplers etc., and/or line sources you need to mix and combine into a controlled output. This is not really used as a speaker out" mechanism, as it only mixes the sources into a main stereo output and a monitor output (at line level, not a speaker L&R amp or anything. The main or monitor ouputs can control speaker levels and be split to several monitors or speakers, but there would be no way to have different control of each set of speakers individually, if that makes sense, as it only as one monitor and one main level output. If your desire is to have several pairs of speakers and select between them, I would suggest a dedicated speaker control unit or if you need a higher grade of control, perhaps a studio monitors control unit. These range from professional-level studio monitor control units like one I sell, (the PreSonus Central Station Studio Control Center ~ ASIN B00066NAQ4) which has several inputs and control for 3 speaker (line) outputs. Remember, these outputs are line-level and have no amp-like power to speakers. Separate amplification is required to power the speakers with this application, whether from additional amps, or using self-powered speaker/monitors. If you just want a box that goes between your speaker outputs of your amp/receiver, so that you can use and control multiple speaker pairs, there are less expensive options. One I found on Amazon is the ASIN B00066NAQ4 (Professional 5-Zone Stereo Speaker Distribution Controller With Volume Controls) which lets you control 5 pairs of speakers with a speaker-level (L&R) source coming from two different source (receivers). Though I have not used this and don't have anything to do with the seller, it looks like all 5 speaker outputs can switch between "A" and "B" input source power. Therefor if you combined 2 units, it would really add some control with 4 inputs into 10 speaker pairs, though control would still be a double 2 into 5 scenario. (check out the listing for wiring charts). Without getting too winded, the "Theater Solutions TS6DV Six Zone Dual Source Selector with Volume Controls" (ASIN B00K2GAZI4) might be more what you are looking for, which allows you to add control for 6 additional pairs of speakers around your home. It sounds pretty good, but remember to check and make sure this draw doesn't overload your output receiver's amp and/or change the ohm ratio drastically enough to fry your amp output. I have no way to view the manual on this selector, but I believe it says it stays with an 8ohm level with all those speaker pairs hooked up, but I would double check that is is not dropping the ohm load to an unsafe level for your amplification, which would be stated in your receiver or amp’s manual in the specs.
