Question:	If this is placed in an outdoor screen porch, will the chimes move and playwith a little bit of breeze? Or are they only functional if you touch them
Answer:	No a 3/8" is not large enough. It needs at least a 3/4".
Question:	Can this be broken down for transport
Answer:	No. It's a high density plastic.

Answer:	This clamp fits a standard 1.5" Gibraltar Rack tube. Note that many of the Amazon descriptions incorrectly list Gibraltar rack tubes as being 2" in diameter. They are always 1.5"--not 2!

Question:	Can the stand be broken down for travel
Answer:	There are two main components. The wood bar with the chimes, which can be stored in the supplied long canister. The steel rod stand, you just have to hold it
Question:	No mallet ? With what do you use to hit the tubes
Answer:	I dont know for sure if they are perfectly in tune but it surely seems like diatonic scale... It always sounds pleasant from high to low wherever I start to play.
Question:	Can this stay out in the rain without being weathered or get rusted

Answer:	Run your fingers gently along the bottom edge... from the short to long tubes

Answer:	They are indoor chimes.
Question:	Could this be played with a mallet/beater? Would this play a scale
Answer:	I suppose you can get them off individually but they are not made to be detachable. The set will detach from the stand. No, they don't come in a case.
Question:	Compatible with 432hz or just concert 440hz
Answer:	They may move a little in a breeze, but I would be worried about moisture in the air causing rust. We use this as a musical instrument in my bell choir, so my gut feeling is no, don't use them on the porch.

We do not recommend using a beater or striker to play this chime because of the contact sound it creates.

The metal chime bars are made of TreeWorks' exclusive Aluminum/Titanium alloy, comprised of 11 different metals melted together. They are heat treated for 8 hours to create a crystal clear tone, then the bars are polished to a brilliant finish. The unique chromatic-like tuning has been described as ethereal and shimmering. It blends beautifully in all musical settings. The wooden mantle is crafted from solid Tennessee hardwood. The deep color is brought out with a hand-rubbed oil finish that is high-end, yet understated. Each chime bar is hand-tied to the mantle one at a time with super-durable braided CordLoc, which is capable of holding up to fifty pounds.

As you have probably noticed by this point, TreeWorks is serious about the quality of the instruments that they build. This level of craftsmanship has attracted musicians from all walks of life. The Mantle

We use locally-source Tennessee hardwoods to make the mantles for all TreeWorks Chimes. Our selections consist of Black Walnut (juglans nigra) or White Ash (fraxinus americana), both of which are sourced from managed forests in the middle Tennessee region. For our Black Walnut mantles, a proprietary steaming process intensifies the color by forcing the dark pigment of the heartwood to move throughout the board. Cut selections are then individually hand-picked from rough, kiln-dried stock. The boards are cut and drilled before being sanded not once, but 16 times. The mantle is complete when the final oil finish is applied and the mantle is branded with the TreeWorks Chimes logo.

The Bars

The true quality of TreeWorks' chimes comes from the colorful sound that our bars produce. We never paint, tint, dip, anodize or plate the bars, as this adversely affects the sound. We also reject stock, off-the-shelf, aluminum bars. TreeWorks uses only custom mill runs, certified to spec and quality tested. The alloy is an aluminum/titanium composition that is T-6 tempered at 350°F for 8 hours. Tempering provides a more consistent grain structure at the molecular level and imparts the clear, distinctive sound that has come to be associated with TreeWorks' products. As our final step, the bars are cut and precision drilled before undergoing polishing that bevels the edges to minimize friction against the cord. The chimes are tuned by ear by gradually changing the pitch, one at a time, bar by bar. No preset, assembly-line cutting.

The Cord

You've no doubt seen the chimes that hang from plastic clothing ties, and you've probably experienced the frustration of finding your bars at the bottom of your case, so it is no surprise to you that the strength of the cord is an important piece of the equation. TreeWorks' CordLoc is a select composition of fibers chosen for extreme strength then braided and individually hand-tied to each bar. Every cord is locked and sealed to render it virtually indestructible. But even more than strength is the fact that anything that touches the bar affects the sound. The length of our cord insures that the bars never strike the mantle and every knot is tucked inside the hole on the mantle where it cannot touch the bar and impede the sound.

The Brand

The final process for any TreeWorks Chimes product is the branding and labeling process. At TreeWorks, build quality is our main initiative and our guiding focus. From burning our logo into the wooden mantles to applying our brass foil logo stickers to our iconic black and wood grain packaging, every product is hand-finished and packaged with care. Each product comes with a small label that is signed by the person who assembled the product. TreeWorks Chimes. In the summer of 1996, was created by Mitch McMichen. It began in his garage in Nashville, Tennessee. The first set of chimes was made with a hacksaw and a hand drill. It didn't look like much, but that was the first step to crafting the perfect set of chimes. When asked about the early days of TreeWorks, Mitch replies, "I wasn't trying to start a company. I was trying to find a sound." Since then has grown to become the most respected chimes in the percussion world -- used by top studio and touring drummers and percussionist as well as the top 24 drum corps. These instruments are still handmade in Nashville, Tennessee and are unmatched in craftsmanship and sound quality. (It is of note that Mitch McMichen has earned Gold and Platinum records for his recording work in Nashville.)

• MYSTICAL AND SOOTHING TUNING | With its doubled rows of seven tones that repeat five times each, this 69-bar double row chime is strung to provide maximum projection and a longer rising or falling effect when played. Because each tone lasts longer than our normal tuning, you are left with a calming soundscape that stays with you long after the bars have stopped ringing.
• PROUDLY MADE IN THE USA | Each TreeWorks Chimes product is made from Tennessee hardwood and locally sourced aluminum/titanium and is assembled in our workshop just north of Nashville, TN.
• HAND-CRAFTED FOR SUPERIOR DURABILITY | Long-lasting braided CordLoc is used to susped our 3/8" thick Aluminum/Titatnium alloy bars on a hand-finished Tennessee hardwood mantle. Each TreeWorks Chimes bar chime features a 7/16" hole in the mantle for mounting on cymbal stands or our unrivaled TRE52 chime mount. Unlike other brands, we always source our materials locally and reject the use of plastic ties to secure our bars to our mantles.
• DIMENSIONS | The TREzen is 28 x 4 x 4 inches in dimension.

• HEARD WHEN YOU NEED IT, QUIET WHEN YOU DON'T | As a variation on our large single row bar chime, the TRE630 provides more customization to your set up by providing dampening capabilities. Simply loosen the knobs on both sides of the swing arm to move the dampening rod towards or away from the bars. The dampener features a piece of soft felt that rests against the bars, effectively eliminating any chime sound.

Is there a way i vould hang this on my wall and still be able to have the chimes work properly

Answer:

Old answer: The pitches are so high that it would be hard to pick out the scale even if it were tuned. It's supposed to be played in an upward or downward glissando. Update: Checked mine today and the pitches are pretty distinct. Starting in a F minor scale, then going up in a combination of whole steps and half steps, the pitches on mine, starting on F6 (third F above middle C on a piano) are: F, G, Ab, Bb, B, C# (Db), D, Eb, F, Gb, Ab, Bb. They aren't too hard to play individually if you have a small mallet.
