Question:	Will this get damaged during shipping? It seems kind of fragile when it comes to being dropped and thrown by shippers because it is a hollow drum
Answer:	Drilling in the front (playing surface) of a Cajon will affect the tone. If the outer case (box) is plastic, drilling a small hole should have minimal effect on the sound. I love the deep resonance sound this instrument creates.

If you look through the sound port, you'll see a hex key located on the center post of this cajon. Remove the hex key and turn the two screws located on the bottom of the cajon to adjust tension on the strings.

Tight strings give you a sharp snare drum sound while looser settings deliver a lax snare effect.

These strings are made of micro-coiled steel, similar to guitar strings. The vibrations from your playing activates them to provide a snare sound wherever you strike the playing surface.

Rear sound port

A 5" circular sound port is cut into the back side of the Baltic birch resonating body to allow air flow to escape the cajon as you play.

Question:	Does the cajon arrive already assembled
Answer:	This product is extremely durable. I wouldn't be worried about damage during shipping. I have had mine for about four years and have not been gentle with it at all (has been dropped from about shoulder height). The only bit of "damage" that could be said about this is a little bit of crayon in the texturing of the top (so your bum doesn't slip off). My son was about two years old and took a crayon to the top of it. Most of that came off, but there's just a little that has stayed.
Question:	Is the sound port in the box located in the back or on the side
Answer:	The resonating body and frontplate are made of Siam Oak (Hevea brasiliensis Muell.-Arg.), which is nicknamed Rubber Wood because it is used in other industries in the production of latex. The wood comes from environmentally controlled wood plantations, which preserve the valuable rain forest eco-system.

Answer:	No, I don’t believe so. I don’t see any adjustments on mine.
Question:	Are the fixed snares actually metal snares, like a snare drum? Or are they wooden dowels or guitar strings
Answer:	This model is not designed with removable snares but we do have other models (SCP100AWA and SCP100WN) that allow you to turn the snares on and off. We also now offer a PA-CAJ cajon preamp that allows you to add a preamp to any of our cajons. Hope that helps!
