User questions & answers

Question: Does this come with the accesories in the picture
Answer: Everything that is in the picture comes in the case.
Question: If my daughter is 10, what size should I get
Answer: I got the 4/4 size however my grandaughter has the 7/8 and she is 10. The violins are so close in size its hard to tell the difference however her bow in lenght is shorter.
Question: Would this 1/4 fit a small 7 year old
Answer: 5 -7 yrs about 18"arm span 1/47-9yrs about 20"arm span 1/2
Question: Can this be used as a fiddle
Answer: The bridge is the difference. A fiddle is a violin with a flatter bridge and a violin with a rounded bridge is played in the classic style and just called violin. Fiddle, as some mentioned is related to folk, country western, zydeco, bluegrass, folksy types of music. This is because the flatter bridge allows one to play chords more easily by making it easier to bow two or more strings at once. Whereas a standard violin with rounded bridge is easier to bow single notes as one would in an orchestral setting.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this tune a banjo
Answer: 4 3/8 " w x 2 7/8" h x 1/2" d
Question: Will this tuner stay in the tuning I calibrate it to? E.g. if I set it to 432hz will it remain there each time it's turned off and on
Answer: Well, I just bought one and haven’t used it yet but it looks to me like you can tune anything with it. The device merely shows the frequency Of the notes it “hears”. You stilll have to “tune” the instrument to the proper frequency, which you can see on the device.
Question: Learning cello 1st position. need a device to show if I'm spot on. Quick response? Attach to bridge? Handles harmonics accurately
Answer: Yes, you can plug your electric guitar directly into this tuner without an amp and tune it. The input on the right side is used for this.
Question: Can I easily calibrate this to 432 Hz
Answer: Yes

User questions & answers

Question: Can this violin play with earphone? Does it include the fine adjustment on the strings
Answer: I have a small kong for a small dog. I inserted the milk bone into the kong and it did not fall out. It only took my dog, a Shitzu-French Poodle mix, about 3 minutes to get the treat out.
Question: Is this violin can play without electric too? can it play a regular violin
Answer: Distributed by does not mean 'Made in the USA.' They are distributed by Del Monte, but nowhere on the box does it say where the treats are currently baked, where the origins of the ingredients come from, etc. When in doubt, they're likely Made in China. Taken from the back of the box, "We made our first biscuit over a century ago in a little bakery on the Lower East Side of New York City. We still use the same high quality and wholesome ingredients to make the original bone-shaped dog treat." This wording is deceiving if you only read this statement once. Sure they WERE made in NYC more than 100 years ago, but do you think they are doing that now? I found no website (except for the unreliable Wikipedia) stating that Milkbones are made in the US. Can someone prove otherwise?
Question: How would you plug this in for headphones? I don't want to disturb my housemates
Answer: Yes these expire but i takes more than a year the ones i got, Well they are all ready gone my dog love them
Question: Does this violin kill demons
Answer: These are made for dogs. I don't think a human would want to eat them or like them.

How to choose violin sizes

Violins are available in 8 different sizes: 4/4 (also called full size), 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/10, 1/16 and 1/32. Size 4/4 is the biggest and size 1/32 is the smallest. All adults, regardless of their size, use the size 4/4 violin.

To measure what size violin best suits you, you need to know the length between your neck and the middle of your left-hand palm (when your hand is fully extended and raised perpendicular to your body, just like holding a violin). Most of the teachers prefer students to use the length from the neck to the wrist for measurement instead of the neck to mid-palm approach. The violin size determined by the neck/wrist approach would be the size that is more comfortable for students to hold. The violin size determined by the neck/mid-palm approach would be the biggest size students should use. The following table lists the length of each violin size. Find your length using your preferred approach and use that to determine the size of violin to get.

If you have a teacher, you should ask for your teacher's recommendation. If you don't have a teacher, we would recommend using the neck/wrist approach for students not using full size; for students who are deciding whether to used size 3/4 or size 4/4, use the neck/mid-palm approach. This is because it is always better those students feeling comfortable holding and playing the violin. However, while deciding between size 3/4 and size 4/4, if neck/mid-palm approach allows for size 4/4, then buying a size 4/4 is more economical since you don't have to buy another bigger size violin later. This is completely based on economical consideration. You should still decide what best suits your need.

Question: It's wood pegs
Answer: Hi , this violin no play with earphone. Para afinar as cordas precisa de um aparelho de afinar cordas. Esse nao vem incluso neste violino.
Question: Tiene clavijas de madera
Answer: You can absolutely play this violin acoustically. The Electronics are just there if you happen to ever want to plug it in!
Question: Does the bow really touch the wood
Answer: It's easy! Get an amp to headphone jack converter, just plugs into the amp port on the violin and provides headphone ports. You'll also need a muter, it's a big rubber thing that slips over the strings and bridge, that reduces sound allot, but not so much that the headphones wouldn't pick it up. User questions & answers

Question: Do you plug the headphones directly into it or plug it into an amp and the headphones out of the amp
Answer: You can plug your headphones directly into it.
Question: Can you attach shoulder straps to the case or does the case come with straps
Answer: There were straps on the case already attached but I never loosened them because the violin was cracked.
Question: Hi, I'm really interested in this product, but will the strings of the violin be tuned
Answer: Hello Firas A. I saw your question about the violin strings, and I did a ton of research on this before I got it, so I'm to help another person do the same. I got this thing earlier this year, being a newbie at the violin thing, so I'm not an expert critic on the product. However, when I received mine, my strings were installed, but not in tune. The bridge had also fallen over (the light-wood thing that holds the strings up), but that was easy to re-erect. I found a free violin tuner app for my phone, and used that to tune my violin. The strings aren't the greatest quality, but they will work until you can get them replaced with a set of good ones. Over all, the whole deal wasn't bad. Just be sure to buy a shoulder rest....
Question: Someone told me that this violin does not come with strings when you buy it, is that true
Answer: This violin comes with all the strings. I am very satisfied with the purchase as I play every week for my church and since I'm the only stringed instrument I need to be heard!

User questions & answers

Question: What is the difference in sizes between 1/4 1/2 and 4/4 Am thinking of getting one, just not sure about the size
Answer: No. There are tutorials online, or booklets and tutorials you can buy through Amazon in order to learn how to play the instrument. This is only the instrument, and extra accessories.
Question: Hello, I am a Double Bass player in my school orchestra. I am new to the violin, and wanted to know if the bridge/strings will be placed already? Thx
Answer: No case, with one extra string
Question: What size is for children
Answer: It is not ready to play when it just got out the box. You have to do the followings in order: 1) slide the damper under the two strings at the bottom of the python skin (I remove this damper afterward and the instrument still sounds fine, will double check with other erhu players). 2) put the "bridge" in the center of the python skin, under the two strings, make sure the strings sit in their notch on the bridge 3) tune up the strings to D (the left one) and A (the right one) (assume you are looking at the python skin) 4) add tension to the bow to the horse hair it taut, then apply the rosin on both side, this takes a while as it is a new bow 5) release the tension, take out the horse hair at one end (where you would hold the bow), slide the hair between the two strings. There are two ways to insert the hair, and ONE is WRONG !!! If you hold the erhu in playing position, the hair should be inserted such that the tip of the bow pointed backward to your left side and the "hand holding" end point forward to the right. Then turn the screw to increase the hair tension. Now, it's really ready to play.

User questions & answers

Question: can you plug it into a amp because the images do not show a jack
Answer: Yes. There are 3 sockets on the back of violin. One is "Line out" (for amp). One is "Mic" and one is "Phones". The Included cord for the amp is a little over 9 feet and is decent quality. There is no static backround noise and my violin comes in clear. *In the stock photo the amp cable is to the right of the headphones.
Question: How can I plug it to my laptop? There is a chord but it doesn't fit the computer outlet
Answer: It has a quarter inch plug, look for either an A to D connector, or (more easily a rocksmith cable) a USB interface. Electric instruments are almost all the same you'll never have the same sound as an acoustic. But it will give you a unique and interesting sound. Especially at this price point.
Question: how quiet is it? I would be practicing during my toddlers nap time and need it to be very very quiet/silent with out an amp or head phones
Answer: I get about 81 dB playing open strings. It’s not so quiet.
Question: Does the kit come with strings attached or must you string them yourself
Answer: The strings come attached. In fact, as soon as my violin came in, I took it to my local music store (who strung my acoustic violin) to have him check it out to see if the violin and strings are of good quality. He thought is was decent quality. I couldn't be happier with it, especially for the price. When you first get it, you will have to re-tune the strings every 10 minutes or so while you are playing, but after about a week of re-tuning (and it does need tuning less frequently with time) you are good to go. It doesn't hold a tune as well as my acoustic...I tune it before I begin playing usually, but it does hold well and the sound is fantastic. You can play it through an amp or into headphones and I think the sound quality is awesome. Hope this helps. :)
