Cecilio is a brand known for producing a wide range of musical instruments, including cellos, violins, and other orchestral string instruments. They are often associated with affordable yet quality instruments suitable for beginners and intermediate players. Here are some key points about Cecilio cellos:

  1. Affordability: Cecilio is renowned for providing cost-effective options for aspiring cellists. Their instruments are often priced lower than those from more established and high-end brands.

  2. Quality: While Cecilio instruments are budget-friendly, they are generally regarded as having good build quality and playability, especially for beginners and students. They are crafted with attention to detail and often feature solid spruce or maple woods for the body, contributing to a decent tone.

  3. Variety: Cecilio offers a range of cello models to cater to different skill levels and preferences. They produce full-size cellos for adults as well as smaller sizes for children. You can find various styles and finishes to suit your aesthetic preferences.

  6. Upgrades: As players progress and their skills improve, they might consider upgrading to higher-end cellos from more specialized manufacturers.Cecilio's instruments serve as an excellent starting point for beginners, allowing them to gauge their commitment to the instrument before making a significant investment.

It's important to note that while Cecilio cellos can be suitable for beginners and students, professional cellists may prefer instruments from more renowned and specialized luthiers for their advanced features and superior craftsmanship. Nevertheless, Cecilio offers a cost-effective entry point into the world of playing the cello.

Answer: As of right now, I've had the camera in the woods for one month, and the lithium batteries are still at full after taking hundreds of pictures.

Cecilio CCO-100 & Colored Cello

Cecilio CCO-100 cello is ideal for beginner or student cellist featuring a crack-proof spruce top, maple back, neck and sides. This cello is outfitted with a padded lightweight carrying soft case with pockets and adjustable backpack straps (making it convenient to carry to school or orchestra), a Brazilwood bow with unbleached horsehair, cello stand, rosin cake, and an extra set of cello strings. How to choose Cello size:

Measuring yourself or a child for cello size: Seat the child (or yourself) so that the knees are bent at a ninety degree angle. The instrument should rest such that the upper rim of the cello body rests on the sternum (breast bone), and the left knee contacts the curve below the lower bout corner. The C string peg (for the thickest string) should be near the left ear, with the neck a few inches away from the shoulder, and the left hand able to reach both ends of the fingerboard with ease.

Hand size is also the primary consideration when determining the proper size to purchase. Too large an instrument can throw your balance off and/or induce tension in the left hand. If the choice between two sizes of instrument is close choose the smaller. Refer to our recommended ages and sizes on the right.

Please keep in mind that this is a rough scale, and may not necessarily work for your child. Also, don't forget to consider your child's growth pattern, which might be an important factor!

User questions & answers

Question: Does this come in set up or do we have to set it up
Answer: Cecilio cco100 does come with a bridge. For safety in transport it is not set up but it is with the cello when it arrives.
Question: We just bought one of these cellos for my 5th grader. It showed up with a wooden dowel of about five inches rolling around indide the body. Why
Answer: We shipped ours back the same day we received it. Nothing but junk!
Question: Does it feel like a quality cello? Or does it feel like a thin piece of plywood
Answer: There is no place for the bow to hang from the stand.
Question: What is th difference between cco 100 and cco
Answer: The dowel is the sound post and it is supposed to connect the top and the back of the cello it goes slightly behind and under the treble foot of the bridge and is held in place by the compression of the top by the strings. It must be in place for the instrument to work and so there is structural support under the treble foot take it to a luthier and he will set the post and tune the instrument.

User questions & answers

Question: Will I have to take it to the shop alot
Answer: We are sorry to tell you that USPS does not ship this oversize package to APO address.
Question: What is the hard case material? It's possible have one extra box? I will get a international airplane with the cello
Answer: We don't make any electric viola, but we have electric cello and electric violin.
Question: I admit,, I don't know a lot about cellos,at least not yet ! & i am very Interested But at the bottom of the cello does the pin unscrew & come out
Answer: There are three entrances, all for the headphone size wires. I hope that answers your question.
Question: Can you guarantee that the product, the cello, and the covers , - are not damaged
Answer: It's like an electric guitar, except it has its own preamp so you can practice or listen to your own performance using the earphones and it sounds like the real thing. In small spaces (e.g., living room), people can hear you. For live performance, you need an amp. The better the amp, the more realistic it sounds. I use a Roland keyboard amp.
Question: Can this product ne shipped to an APO address
Answer: You have to set the bridge (not hard) and then tune it. The strings will streatch for about a week so retuning will be constant at first, but that's about it
Question: Do you make any electric violas
Answer: Since the sound post is not glued in place, it can become loose during transit if the carrier does not handle the package with enough care. Please contact us directly at 909-581-6190 for further assistance.
Question: Does it have an auxiliary in
Answer: The feel is quite substantial. The wood is indeed carved wood. No plywood involved. The fingerboard is not ebony but is good and playable. Strings are a good investment, but the body, neck, scroll bridge etc are quality. You might look at this... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kpNBSTCVEx4 To get a better idea of how these are made.
Question: Can you play this cello with only the included equipment? Or do you need an amp as well
Answer: 100 is basically plywood. Not. A good sound. 200 has metal tailpiece and 300 wood tailpiece and better pegs

User questions & answers

Question: Does it come strung
Answer: I'm just a beginner, so keep that in mind -- I've not had a reason to take it to a shop. It's actually a much better cello than I expected.
Question: What are the pegs made of
Answer: Its a nylon like material that is fitted around some sort of hard shell. It is a good case and cello for the money. The case has a place for accessories. I don't know about the rules and bringing a cello with you, and I don't understand what you mean by "Its possible to have one extra box."
Question: Would this cello be suitable for an eight year old
Answer: The endpin is adjustable by adjusting the screw, but it won't come out all the way since there is a pin stopper at the end of the endpin.
Question: Can the fingerboard points be removed once you have mastered the position
Answer: One of the reasons I chose the CCO-500 was because of the semi-hard case. The case (containing the cello) was itself placed in a large carton box. Though the carton was a bit damaged upon arrival, the case and the cello arrived in perfect condition. It was my understanding that the models with the lower numbers would be delivered in soft cases (though presumably also in a carton shipping box), and I did not want to run the risk. I think that the 600 comes in a true hard case, so that might be even better shipment-wise - but then you would want to go for the different sound quality of the 600 and the associated price. My order was shipped to Miami, and from there to Suriname, South America.

Eastar EVC-1 Full Size 4/4 Cello

  • Eastar's EVC matte maple wood cello was originally designed to meet the basic requirements of beginners for cello, accurate pitch, medium tone, low process, and the ability to achieve maximum benefits with less money.
  • Outstanding points:

1: The fingerboard point of the EVA-2 violin that we introduced for this beginner cello has a strong guiding ability for cello learning.

2: The EVC cello comes with a stand and the gap between the exercises can be placed on it.

Finger Guide

There are many advantages of fingerboard points.

First, many beginners will choose to use fingerboard stickers. Transparent fingerboard stickers have detailed instructions. It is undeniable that these instructions are very helpful for the study of cello. However, many customers react to the fact that when the stage is played, there is often a reflection of the light and it is not clear that the bit or the fingerboard sticker will be torn off, which will damage the body. Our products will not have such problems.

Second, musical instrument learning is a long-term muscle memory. Strict adherence to the position of the position can make the playing skills more exquisite.

Practice Bow

Unbleached Mongolian horsehair, natural, tough. The violin bow is a consumable item, please pay attention to two points.

1: The bow is a relatively fragile accessory. If it is used improperly, the bow of the bow will break or partially fall off. The bow lacking part of the bow can be used continuously.

2: The new bow is not able to sound, you need to rub the rosin powder to have a sound.

Adjustment Knob

The function of the fine adjustment knob is to help the violinist to make parts for tuning. Brass fine-tuning is more upscale and will not rust.

First, loosen the fine adjustment knob, and then adjust the violin neck knob to about 10 cents lower than the standard tone. Press the top knob to fix the pitch, then gently Tighten the fine adjustment knob until the pitch is exactly positioned.

It is recommended to adjust AD first and then adjust GE.

Set a Bridge

The bridge should be left high and low right, and the bridge should coincide with the midpoint of the f hole of the cello. When you follow the bridge, you must loosen the violin string. After placing the bridge in place, the string is inserted into the limit of the bridge, and the tuning can be used normally.

End Point

Tail adjustment system, the longest property is 13inch/33cm, nickel-plated brass, good quality, high strength, no rust, convenient for players of different heights to adjust the cello to the ideal performance height. During the indoor symphony orchestra playing and outdoor jazz performance, the performer can also choose to stand or sit in accordance with his own habits.

EAC-RO1 3 Pack Rosin

This cello set is equipped with the Eastar EAC-RO1 3 Pack Rosin Set. When using rosin, please use a sharp blunt to scratch the surface of the rosin. After some traces, use the bow and bow to rub the rosin. Make sure the rosin is evenly applied to the bow.

User questions & answers

Question: Can the hard case be used for travel? is it resistant enough
Answer: Yes, the cello does come strung, but you will have to place the bridge yourself. This is fairly simple to do, by lining up the bridge centered on the cello body and equidistant from the mid-point of the f-holes - making sure to keep the bridge perpendicular to the body as you add tension the strings.
Question: I may be over thinking this but what do they mean by “hard and soft case” is that two cases or one case that has that good hard case w/fabric over it
Answer: Not sure, but you must push them in firmly as you turn them to tighten the strings.
Question: Where's it made
Answer: Dear Regina S,For children who are eight years old and are about 135 cm tall, we recommend buying 1/2 size which will be more suitable.
Question: How does it sound
Answer: Yes.. However you'll need a very good Luthier to do so. Considering how much that would cost.. One would be better off saving your money for a more expensive one.

User questions & answers

Question: Sound from the strings is ok through the pickup when strings are plucked, but when using the bow, I could barely hear it. Why
Answer: When I bought my Cello, it was not broken in the sense that the neck snapped like you see in some older posts. My problem is that once the bridge is set up, the cello no longer fits into the hard case. The company was great to work with when I made a complaint about this and some scratches in the wood. I had to send everything back and they sent me a new set. The new cello was in perfect condition but the second case had the same problem of my first one where the cello would not fit into the case after the bridge was set up. I gave up after that as I didn't want to go through the motion of sending things back and forth. Nice cello after the strings are changed. I have a full set of medium Helicores'.
Question: Regarding the curved "knee rests" -- are they flexible? Do they detach (so you can use one side only
Answer: I've been playing this model for about 4 years. The sound is very good, but it's better if you change the strings. I get a better sound using Jargar medium. The color is similar than published. The bow is good, it's a little havier, but compared with other bows that I've used is best than them. You should apply rosin properly. For me, the space between strings and fingerboard has exact length to play easily with less effort. Taking into account the price is an excellent cello. Recently a friend asked me to play it, she liked its sound and comment that used less effort to play.
Question: What is the distance in millemeters between the end of the fingerboard and the "A" string
Answer: My Cecillio Cello arrived with the sound post lying loose in the body. I had a music store technician grab it with a special pliers and correctly position it. Problem solved and still playing well, nearly a year later. Wish I played well too :-)
Question: Do you need an amplifier to hear any sound from this cello
Answer: It comes with ebony fingerboard, hand-Carved Selected Well-Aged Solid Maple Back & Sides.
Question: Has the hard case been improved to correct for the inadequate protection it's been shown to have
Answer: Yes my son was a beginner when I bought it for him. Everyone's different, but he has both and likes them both.
Question: I read some reviews saying that the instrument is a little darker in color, is that true? Also, how well does the bow work? Is it a good "home" cello
Answer: Actual package weight is 23 lbs and Shipping dimension Weight is 85 lbs.
Question: Has anyone had an issue with having the soundpost installed or does it come set, thanks
Answer: Looks like each wing is attached by a pair of Phillips head screws inside metal clasp rings. It looks like, if the screws were removed, the wings would come off and impact no other part of the machine.
Question: ebony fingerboard ? what kind off wood it is made
Answer: Yes, the fact that it can be so thin (and portable), was the main reason why I chose this exact style. When I'm transporting it, people think its a water ski. When I tell them its a cello, people get a confused look.
Question: Is this good for beginners
Answer: You're correct, you can use you're right knee and the chest support to level it - watch you tube: piano guys "cello wars" ; good for the money and practice but the yamaha is a whole different class
Question: how much total weight for the shipping package of this item?i'm so concern about shipping package how it prevent damage which make me hold for buying
Answer: Yes. But the cello uses Aux cord and Amps usually use quarter inch cord. Music shops or amazon sells those cords. For tips, you might wanna get some guital pedals to experiment with the sound you want. It's like elec guitar. It by itself is pretty plain. Remember that it's pretty cheap and mine is broke now after using it for e years. You should tale a good care of it. Also. Don't trust that case or headphones at all. Cello's worth it for its price though
Question: Are the retractable side "wings" completely removable if the screws were taken-out
Answer: There is no model number on our electric cello, however, you can differentiate the model by the style and the color of the cello.
Question: Do the "arms" fold in to make it compact like a "stick
Answer: The approximate weight for this package is 19 pounds and the size of the package is 54x19x11 inches
Question: How is it possible to hold this cello without a lower left bout? What do you do with your legs
Answer: If you installed the headphone plug to the appropriately labeled jack and tried changing the volume and gain settings but still no sound, you might have a bad unit. Mine worked out of the box doing that.
Question: Can i use an amp with this
Answer: Yes.
Question: Where is the model number on the cello
Answer: The electric cello can only be plugged into an amp and headphones.
Question: How big and how heavy is the packaging
Answer: The back of the neck is unfinished, and it gives you smoother action when you play.
Question: Installed the bridge, and inserted the battery. The light comes on but no sound from the headphones. Did I do something wrong
Answer: The hard case can be used for travel and is resistant enough. Please keep in mind that proper care and handling is still required to prevent damage to your instrument.
Question: Is prelude string good enough
Answer: It comes with a soft case and a hard case.
Question: Can I just plug it into my effects piece and to speaker, and play it live for meditations
Answer: It is made in China.
Question: is there a reason neck is unfinished on the back of the instrument
Answer: It’s sounds good for practice but I would probably buy different strings.

This cello package includes a well-padded lightweight carrying soft case, a bow, rosin, aux cable, and headphones. Great for Student, Intermediate and Professional Cellist.
