Answer:	I put it before my Rat clone and use it as a light OD. It stacks really well and adds even more sustain and thickness to the Rat, if you can believe that. I haven't tried it the other way around. As compared to the Sweet Baby, I like the Caline better. The Joyo's O.K., but the active eq on the Caline makes it easier to dial in a match for the bass and treble eq of your amp and, thus, get a more "natural" sounding overdrive. It works especially well with my tele and '65 deluxe reverb reissue because it also has a slight mid hump (but not as pronounced as a TS9) that sits perfectly in the mix. In addition, I also prefer the quality of the overdrive, it sounds better to my ears, it has more of a warm character compared to Joyo--at least to my ears.

Answer:	MISFIT,Neither. The Caline is supposedly a clone of an Xotic Effects BB preamp. If you type 'Caline CP-18 vs. Xotic BB' in a search engine, you should be able to find lots of feedback and reviews on the comparison. While I haven't played through the 'real' Xotic BB version, I can honestly say the Caline is well worth the price, and you could buy about 5 of the Calines for the same price as the Xotic.I have several DS-1s, and the Caline is more of a clear booster than the DS-1. It will overdrive, too, but it really shines as a booster, with plenty of tone control and volume. Sounds great into an already-overdriven amp. Good luck, I hope this helps.

Question:	Does it save the loop when powered off? Previous question had conflicting answers
Answer:	To be completely frank, I despise this pedal. I don't know how it has gotten so many positive reviews. But to answer your question, sometimes it saves them (when you're trying to get red of them, which is most of the time) and sometimes not. Sometimes, powering it off (completeing disconnecting it) is what I had to resort to get rid of a loop. It sometimes worked on the first try and sometimes the loop was still there. The loop function is not intuitive and does not work as well as many cheaper loop pedals. Of course, they don't include the even more horrendous feature of this pedal. The drum machine. The drum machine beats are worthless and almost all sound horrible. None sound "good" or at least of an acceptable quality or skill level to be of any real use (particularly at a gig). I would compare the sound and beats to the cheapest lowest quality children's drum kit thrown into a large metal trash can and rolled down a flight of stairs and recorded through an 80's gated reverb effect. I've been a professional, gigging musician for a long time and this is by far the most disappointing and useless piece of gear I think I've ever purchased although it has given some friends of my mine a few laughs at literally my expense.

LOOPER

In this mode, only the looper will be activated. Rotate the LOOPER knob to adjust the recording volume level of the looper. Press the footswitch to control the looper.

DRUM

1. Rotate the GENRE and PATTERN knobs to select the desired style and rhythm of the drum machine.

1. Utilize GENRE and PATTERN knobs to select the desired drum machine type.

2. Press TAP several times in-time to set the desired tempo of the drum machine. The blinking rate of the TAP LED will indicate the current speed.

3. Press the footswitch to activate L+D mode. The count-in will play to indicate the currently selected speed of the drum machine. After the count-in finishes, the looper will start to record while the drum machine begins playing.

4. The operation of L+D is the same of that in looper mode. The tempo of the drum machine cannot be changed during play. You can adjust the volume level of the looper and drum machine by adjusting the LOOPER and DRUM knobs during play.

5. The looper and drum will stop and start simultaneously in the L+D mode.

INSTRUCTIONS

• The LOOPER and DRUM machine can be used simultaneously. It is recommended to set the groove of the DRUM machine first before selecting the LOOPER mode for recording.

Answer:	Yes, it does have a Spring setting, but the other settings sound much better. If you mainly want a Spring Reverb, I don’t recommend this pedal. I recommend it for Plate Reverb.
