14 best effects pedal for guitar basses
Effects pedals for guitars and basses are devices that alter or enhance the sound of the instrument. These pedals are popular among musicians for adding various tones and textures to their playing. Here are some general points about effects pedals, with a focus on distortion and overdrive effects:
Distortion and Overdrive Effects:
- Distortion: Distortion pedals produce a more aggressive and saturated tone by clipping the guitar signal, creating a gritty and powerful sound. They are commonly used in rock and metal genres.
- Overdrive: Overdrive pedals also clip the signal but typically produce a milder and smoother tone compared to distortion.Overdrive is often used to push tube amplifiers into natural saturation for a warm and dynamic sound.
Bass Guitar Effects:
- Effects pedals designed specifically for bass guitars include a variety of options such as bass distortion, chorus, envelope filters, and octave pedals. These effects are tailored to enhance the low-frequency characteristics of bass guitars.
Guitar Effects:
- Apart from distortion and overdrive, there are numerous other types of guitar effects pedals. These include modulation effects like chorus, phaser, and flanger, time-based effects like delay and reverb, and filters like wah-wah pedals.
Amplifiers and Effects:
- Effects pedals can be used in conjunction with amplifiers to shape and modify the guitar or bass tone. Many guitarists use a combination of pedals to create a personalized and unique sound.
Signal Chain:
- The order of effects pedals in the signal chain can significantly impact the overall sound. Common signal chain orders include placing distortion or overdrive pedals at the beginning to shape the core tone and modulation effects later in the chain for additional color.
Expression and Control:
- Some effects pedals have expression pedal inputs or additional controls for manipulating parameters in real-time. This allows for dynamic changes to the effect while playing.
True Bypass vs. Buffered Bypass:
- True bypass pedals do not affect the signal when turned off, while buffered bypass pedals may introduce a buffer to maintain signal strength. Musicians often have preferences based on their specific setup and needs.
Versatility:
- Many modern multi-effects pedals offer a wide range of effects in a single unit, providing musicians with versatility and convenience.
Effects pedals contribute significantly to the creative expression of guitarists and bassists, allowing them to craft unique sounds and textures for their performances.

User questions & answers
Question: | Headphone capable |
Answer: | Yes very easy to clean, the basket is inside a pan and both are square, both come out when you fill the basket. For sticky items (chicken wings) I recommend buying some parchment paper with holes for air flow to put in the bottom of the basket for ease of cleaning. You can buy it on Amazon. If you use the parchment paper do not put in fryer until ready to add the food, with no food weight on the paper the air may cause it to float up to the heater (fire hazard warning) |
Question: | Can this be used for vocals |
Answer: | E2 error means you overfilled the basket. Open the basket, shake the contents or flip and resume cooking. |
Question: | How do you get the device that you plug in to play music through Zoom(such as phone) to play in stereo? I can only get mine to play mono |
Answer: | The measurements for the interior basket is 9 3/4 inches x 8 3/4 inches x 4 3/4 deep. According to instructions, items should be placed in a single layer. |
Question: | trying to decide which one to get... what exactly does the expression pedal do |
Answer: | Thanks for your inquiry. The temperature rang of our air fryer oven is 180℉ to 400℉, the highest temperature is 400℉. Hope that helps you. |

Answer: | It is the full size. I have put one on my boards. It is on the heavy side, so be prepared for the weight. Most players put it on the right side of the board and use their right foot. |
Question: | Hello! as never bought the site , i wonder how much is charged to deliver in brazil (freight + tax) ? it's all calculated upon purchase |
Answer: | Sorry We don't ship to Brazil |
Question: | If I buy this, would I have to buy anything else for it to function |

User questions & answers
Question: | I'm new at this, how do you connect this system between the amp and my guitar |
Answer: | I haven't done it myself, but I'm sure you could run a mic through it for vocals. Just keep in mind that it only has a 1/4" instrument input. So for a standard mic with XLR output, you'd need to get an XLR-to-1/4" cable in order to run it through the B1 Four. |
Question: | Is this 9v, 12v, or 18v |
Answer: | are you using a 1/8" stereo cable? 1 Foot 3.5mm (1/8") TRS Stereo Male to Male. is your music coming out of a stereo headphone jacl? let me know |
Question: | Is there a tap tempo |
Answer: | The expression pedal offers several functions. Yes, it can adjust volume or be used as a wah but it can also adjust intensity of effects. It's nice to be able to adjust the amount of overdrive or phaser, etc.., for example, with your foot. You can use it to adjust the pitch when using that effect. |
Question: | Does the Pelt come with a power cord |
Answer: | China |

Question: | how well will this work on Bass |
Answer: | Pretty swell, so long as it doesn't conk out like mine did. Barely lasted a month... |
Question: | Can I use this pedal with a battery |

Answer: | No, the 9V (center negative) power supply is sold separately. |
Question: | Can a normally open spst switch be plugged into the exp. input and function like the fast/slow switch on the pedal |

The MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay features a completely analog audio path for the ultimate in rich, warm delay - made possible only by old-school bucket brigade technology. This design boasts an amazing 600ms of delay time with optional modulation via a top-mounted switch and a simple, three-knob layout that controls Delay time, Mix (dry/wet blend), and Regen (delay repeats) - all in a pedal no bigger than a Phase 90. In addition, two internal trim pots offer user-adjustable width and rate control of the modulation for even more tonal options. The Carbon Copy will take you from crisp "bathroom" slap echoes to epic, Gilmour-esque delays with a twist of a knob. True hardwire bypass, single 9-volt operation, and stage-ready blue LEDs round out the package. Available only from Dunlop Manufacturing, the world's leader in analog pedal technology.
- Rich, all-analog delay
- Up to 600 milliseconds of delay time
- Modulation controls emulate tape echo tones
- Bucket-brigade technology
User questions & answers
Question: | is there a way to turn the delay off and just use it as a repeat pedal |
Answer: | If I understand your question correctly, then the answer is no. Delay pedals playback every note you play exactly, but at a delay (this delay is “in addition” to your real-time signal). If you want something that repeats riffs nonstop, so that you can play over it, then I suggest getting a Looper pedal (ie. DITTO LOOPER ~$30). The Ditto plays your riffs in loops up to 5min, and you can add or subtract from the loop at any time. |
Question: | Can I power this with the Visual Sound one spot |
Answer: | Yes you can. I have a carbon copy song with five other pedals being powered by a one spot, and the rest of my board is powered by a voodoo lab supply. I don't hear any noise from using it, and all pedals funtion as they should |
Question: | Like the Boss Delay, does this have some kind of Volume knob or something to lower the delay |
Answer: | That would be the Mix knob... now that increases or decreases the sound of the delayed signal... (the repeats) but it doesn’t increase or decrease the overall signal. Just the delayed repeats. |
Question: | Can anyone tell me how long this would last with a battery |
Answer: | Also, when you unscrew the back, you will have to CAREFULLY, slide your modulation controls to the side, and underneath, the battery bay is located. I have read that with this thing on your chain, on or off, it will suck battery power, and the efx will therefore change over time vs the direct route. |

Question: | Do i need to use a computer to access all tge fetures or can i just use the app on my phone |
Answer: | My best guess at Portuguese to English transtlation: Hello, do you know if they send to Brazil and how much it would cost? Many thanks!! |
Question: | Is this a polyphonic synth? Thanks |
Answer: | Do not know fender reverb except spring reverb in fender pro reverb amp. This unit has several different effects. It has spring, plate and hall room reverb. The spring is equal to proreverb amp byfender. It also has delay shimmer, dynamic effect and modulate effect with time, tone and e. Level controls, each of these has its own control pot. Offers Bot It has mono and stieoro in and outputs and effects pedal input. Pedal is sold separate. I like it ok for the price but I recommend ge ting the 9 volt adapter rathe r than using batteries. Batter life is short when using just a 9 volt battery. |
Question: | Is the 3.5 mm control jack supposed to feel really loose? Mine has a hard time recieving signal from my expression pedal |
Answer: | It absolutely DOES come with a battery installed. I have about 16 Boss pedals of this size and they all came with a battery installed. It appears to be a cheaper battery and many of them still have the cellophane still wrapped around the lower portion. Boss places batteries in these at the factory to test before sending out. Don't know why some say there is no battery. Maybe they just tried to hit the switch, which is not going to power the unit up without a signal. |
Question: | How do I connect it to my iPhone 11 which does not have an earphone jack |
Answer: | Hi, yes you sure can, it will work with an FS-6, FS5-U, FS-7 and others |

Bass Fly Rig Multi-Effects Pedal. Finally after a flood of requests, Tech 21 has developed a bass version of the Fly Rig 5. They put everything they could fit into one multi-effect unit—except the kitchen sink. SANSAMP SansAmp, of course, is at its center, with its unique Character control that sweeps through the most storied vintage and modern tones. 3-band active EQ provides professional grade tweakability for any situation. For dirt and grind, Drive adds gain and overdrive. You can also add distortion by engaging the Pre-Boost. And then there’s Fuzz in the OCTAFILTER section. Each method achieves a different variety of tonal madness. You can even use all three at the same time, but be sure to hold onto your shorts. OCTAFILTER OCTAFILTER brings an entire re-invented pallette of expression with a crazy amount of possibilities, from Minimoog-style synth to funky town. The controls interact so that you can get dynamically-filtered clean, fuzz and octave, as well as octave and fuzz together. When Q is at minimum, Range becomes a high-cut tone filter for different versions of clean, fuzz, octave, and octave and fuzz together. You can then blend any of these combinations with your direct signal via the Mix control. But wait, there’s more. By bringing in some COMP, you can get infinite sustain like a keyboard bass. CHORUS CHR, derived from Tech 21's Bass Boost Chorus pedal, adds choral voicings of two instruments. With a slight delay between, it adds thickness and space. COMP COMP (compression) utilizes old school, all-analog, FET-based technology, which is inherently warmer, more transparent and musical. BOOST Switchable Pre/Post Boost. Pre-Boost mode interacts with the SansAmp section to beef up drive and distortion. Post-Boost mode increases the overall volume to punch up fills and solos. TUNER Chromatic Tuner is within the CHR section. You simply hold down the CHR footswitch to engage the Tuner, which simultaneously mutes the signal path.

Question: | What country is the Bass Fly Rig made in |
Answer: | With the free Neuro Editor app and desktop program, you can upload/create a polyphonic synth plus endless other sounds and effects. Source Audio is making the most versatile pedals around. And no, I do not work for them. |
Question: | Can the octave and overdrive be used together at the same time |
Answer: | No, mine fits like it’s supposed to. No play at all. I assume you’re using the Source Audio Dual Expression pedal |
Question: | Can I use it for electric guitar |
Answer: | You will have to get an i-phone USB to female mini 1/8" adapter to use the cable included with the C-4 pedal. I recommend contacting Source Audio tech support to confirm. |
Question: | Is the character effect similar-equal to the blend pot of the bass driver v2 ? I understand you get more effect for money, but really love that fx |
Answer: | Yes, we recommend using a BOSS PSA-120S 500mA power supply or dry alkaline 9 Volt battery. The RV-6 has a current draw of 65mA. |

User questions & answers
Question: | how to possibly eliminate the "buzz |
Answer: | Yes , you can but we also make dedicated electric guitar Fly Rigs. The original Fly Rig and the RK Fly Rig. feature set more appropriate for guitar vs bass. |
Question: | The item title is listed as "chorus," but everything else seems to indicate "bass overdrive." Is the title just incorrect |
Answer: | I haven't used a V2 sansamp driver. I used someone else's V1 a while back. Unfortunately I can't remember how that compares to the character knob on the Fly Rig. I will say that it seems to be very versatile in sound. You can a really boomy low end SVT sound or go very clean and modern. Don't know if that helps |
Question: | Can this cut out the bass signal by being turned on and off |
Answer: | You can use the app on your phone or tablet. I think the connection is stronger and the interface easier to use on the computer. You can do dip editing on the computer to create patches and do on the fly editing with the app, which is what I would do. |
