Answer:	Yes but you'll want to be aware that the amp takes a 1/4" plug, so you might need a converter. I also would be cautious if the mic requires phantom power. The amp doesnt provide it, so you'll need to get it elsewhere. If you have a mic preamp, then you could also plug the mic into that and the preamp into the aux jack, which would allow you to still be able to plug a guitar into the 1/4" jack. However be aware that the aux jack doesnt go through the volume/tone/gain, so you'll need to provide that elsewhere (which is why a preamp would be helpful)

Answer:	It is a very small amp, approx 5in x 4in x 4in. That makes for small speaker(s) and very small sound. However, it does work as advertised. Sound is better through headphones of course, and apparently the amp has a battery so you can take anywhere you go. Plus, you can pipe in music from external source. I have a large second hand very used guitar amp already, bought with my first guitar three years ago from a music store and would recommend you purchase one from that type of store or online if you want to deafen every one around you. This amp is perfect if you don’t want to spread your music past your ears.

Answer:	playing bass at lower volumes would probably be ok. cranking it up would shred it. great little guitar amp though.
Question:	anyone else experiencing a very loud buzzzz when you plug in
Answer:	You ALWAYS GET BUZZ if you plug in after turning on any amp. There is an interval when you insert the plug that one circuit—the one to ground—isn’t connected. It’s momentary. You should ALWAYS PLUG IN BEFORE turning the amp on. Now, if it continues to buzz after the cable is fully plugged in, try another cable. If the buzzing stops, that first cable has a broken connection on the ground side. This is generally caused by the leads inside the plug breaking off where they’re soldered. Unscrew the plug at both ends and check for loose, unattached wires. If you find one, re-solder it. If no broken connections are found, the break is somewhere inside the cable. Unsolder and keep the plugs and toss the cable. If after inserting a second cable, the buzzing continues, the problem is inside the amp circuitry. Return it, or toss it and get a better one next time.

Answer:	Runs the amp at 50 watts, 25 or .5 watts, different levels depending on the volume you need. .5 watt is great for when the kids are sleeping.

Answer:	There are a few more effects on the MkII and the pots for effects are now dual pots to make it easier to dial in... AMP IN is now on the Katana to allow you to plug in a multi-effects board etc and bypass the amp settings.. The "sneaky amps" available on the MkI are blocked out on the MkII.. but you get 5 more voice settings on the 5 amps available for the MkII.. newer and easier software.. Patches made for the MkI work with the MkII, but the MkII patches do not work on the MkI.

One Katana MkII sounds great, but playing two at once is even better. The new Stereo Expand feature makes linking two amps simple, with just one regular cable needed. You're able to control everything from the master Katana MkII, with stereo-compatible effects like chorus, delay, reverb, and others distributed across both amps for a wide, immersive sound field. Stereo Expand is supported on all 100-watt Katana MkII models.

Ready-To-Mix Direct Tones

The Katana-100 MkII features line, USB, and phones/recording outputs with mic'd cabinet emulation, letting you send mix-ready amp tones to a PA system, computer DAW, or headphones. The direct sound can be shaped with three different Air Feel settings, which are accessible from BOSS Tone Studio. Two-channel USB operation is supported, allowing you to track in true stereo with many of Katana's modulation, EQ, delay, and reverb effects.

Compact Gig Commander

The optional GA-FC foot controller is the perfect partner for the Katana-100 MkII. It connects with a single cable, requires no external power, and features a slim, rugged profile that takes up minimal space. With six footswitches, you can directly recall Tone Settings and independently turn the five effects sections on/off. The GA-FC also supports external footswitches and expression pedals, with default assignments that include tap tempo, bank selection, foot volume, and Pedal FX. A large variety of custom assignments are available via BOSS Tone Studio, including expression pedal control of up to three parameters at once.

BOSS Tone Studio Enhancements

BOSS Tone Studio has also evolved alongside the Katana MkII amplifiers. The interface has been updated with a refreshed look, and a number of parameters have been consolidated into the main screen for faster workflow. Micro Dark 20W Tube Hybrid Amp Head. After much player demand, Orange is building on both its diminutive Micro series and high-gain Dark series with the aptly named Micro Dark. It has more gain than the original Micro Terror, and it's smaller than the Dark Terror, an awesomely potent combination. This 20W hybrid head comes loaded with a single 12AX7 preamp tube for authentic tube overdrive, paired with a bullet-proof solid-state power section and stuck in a package that can fit in the glove box of a car. The end result is a deceptively loud head that's bursting forth with high-gain Orange tone. The controls are simple as can be. With just three knobs - volume, shape and gain - it's unbelievely easy to dial in your tone. The shape control varies the midrange response along with the bass and treble, so rotating it to the left will add mids and smooth the highs, while a twist right will reduce the mids and brighten the tone. And one twist of the gain knob will show that, despite its adorable stature, this thing is no novelty. It cranks out serious, high-gain, face-melting tone at volumes that'll leave you shocked. Further building on the outstanding Micro platform, the Micro Dark comes equipped with a transparent, fully buffered FX loop, so you can use your favorite pedals with ease. Using the built-in CabSim headphone output - which simulates a 4x12" cab output through headphones or as a direct out - or the optional PPC108 1x8" cab, The Micro Dark is an ideal practice rig. But if you dare to plug it into a full-sized cab, it can turn into a mighty studio weapon.

Question:	Can i use this amp with my bass guitar? Or is it only for guitars? I'm looking for a bass tube amp usefull for small gigs with my band
Answer:	You can only run one amp to your cabinet.
Question:	Does this sound good at all volumes, not just loud
Answer:	Yes. Generally speaking, you can almost always use a cabinet with the same OR higher ohms on any amp. DON'T hook up a smaller ohmed cab. That can cause big problems. The Same or Higher, NOT lower. There ARE exceptions, but THAT is the general rule. Transistor amps are a little more sensitive to matching impedance, but 16 ohms should be fine. If you are worried, keep checking the amount of heat the amp generates, and if it gets REAL hot real quick, then you might want to change cabinets to an eight ohm. These are great, LOUD amps for being just 20 watts. They run a 4 by 12 cab just FINE. The distortion sound is GOOD! A great amp for recording use. Only use speakers cabinets rated at 30 WATTS or more, and 8 to 16 ohms.

Answer:	Metal band in a 1000 seat venue-no, local bar,100 people or less, normal drummer should be OK. A friend of mine has the 100 watt version and has been playing local gigs at 50 watts, says its just loud enough, works fine.

Answer:	Yes. The extra features that it brings makes the MKII much more useful.
