Even by the frequently, if unintentionally, bizarre history of the UK's premier chart television show 'Top of the Pops' there are few less likely performances than that of a temporary line-up of King Crimson miming to the band's early 1970 single release 'Cat Food'. The band's first (& only) - isolated from album release - foray into the fickle world of the singles market did not, even with a TOTP appearance, produce a hit to dominate UK & worldwide charts but, along with it's non-album b side Groon, both tracks have achieved long term appeal with King Crimson fans & in KC set lists. A longer version of Cat Food would appear on the band's second studio album in May 1970, "In the Wake of Poeidon", a live version of Groon was a highlight of the Earthbound Live album while numerous studio takes were featured on both the 40th anniversary CD/DVD-A of "In the Wake of Poseidon" & the "Sailors' Tales" boxed set. Light in the Attic Records is proud to continue it's Lee Hazlewood archival series with an expanded reissue of Lee and Ann-Margret's The Cowboy & The Lady. The album is Hazlewood's truest country album and a perfect example of the genre hopping he was afforded at LHI with unlimited creative freedom and money to burn. Recorded over a weekend in Nashville with the help of Charlie McCoy and some Nashville session musicians. With improvised lines like "Look at her standing there with chili all over her dress / If I knew her better, I'd give her a puppy," the sessions were loose and fun, with most tracks cut in one or two takes. A whirlwind year of lear jet promo tours, magazine photo shoots, television specials and cutting records for LHI wasn't able to bring the success that Lee and Ann-Margret pushed for. A second LHI album with Ann-Margret was planned but never recorded. Within a year of making the trip to Nashville, Lee would be living in Sweden full-time and Ann-Margret would focus on her acting career for the better part of a decade. Nothing exemplifies Lee's "throw it against the wall and see if it sticks" record production of the LHI era like his work with Ann-Margret. Though it didn't stick, and it didn't sell, Lee's adventure with Ann-Margret is an extravagant tangent that has since grown a cult following.

They introduce us to Toothbrush the Elephant, and he's just the first in a parade of animals, which includes monkeys, horses, kittens, and a few more exotic types. Chris and Martin, in typical fashion, are quick to illustrate to preschoolers the most interesting traits of the animals. Monkeys, they explain, seem to be playing when they pound an object around. But then the Kratts show us (with video footage of monkeys in the wild) that that is how they find their food, pounding bark from trees to get the insects crawling around underneath.
