User questions & answers

Question: the wheight limit of user
Answer: Mine is 15 miles.
Question: advantages of 3 wheel or 4 wheel
Answer: Scooters are rarely reimbursable by Medicare or private insurance. In order for you to obtain a scooter under Medicare, you would first have to have a physician, under penalty of prosecution, certify in writing that you require a power mobility device for use around your home. In other words to get from the bathroom to the kitchen, bedroom to living room, etc. Medicare does not pay for scooters used outside the home. Then, you would take that certificate to a local medical supply store and they would provide you with the power mobility device that fits your needs and that they have available. You would then pay 20% and insurance would pay 80%... of a high-priced scooter. You do not get to choose. Most people you see riding scooters paid for their scooter on their own and choose the model they wanted. Hope this helps. VidaCura is a BBB A+ rated, full service company. We take and return phone calls 7 days a week at (800) 704-8432. We're a Drive Medical and Pride Mobility authorized dealer. We can deliver a Phoenix anywhere in the U.S. within 4 business days.
Question: How well does this do in the snow? I live in Michigan where it snows alot and will need this for getting to the store
Answer: If you purchased your scooter from Living Well Stores, your battery is under warranty for five years. Please call us at 800-704-8432 so we can service your scooter. If you didn't get your scooter from us, then your scooter requires two 20ah SLA batteries. A word about scooter batteries- it is always possible to build a cheaper battery. User questions & answers

Question: how long does the batteries last
Answer: this depends on the condition of the batteries and age. when new you should get 5-6 miles so depending on your speed, work out the 'how long' statistic.
Question: Does this come with battery and charging unit
Answer: Yes it does. The batteries (there are two in the battery pack) need to be charged for 8 to 12 hours before the scooter's first use, and then recharged again for 8 to 12 hours when the battery gauge shows half capacity. Both batteries are charged at the same time by plugging the charger into the single connector at the front of the battery pack. The 3-wheel Scout is much more maneuverable than the 4-wheel model, and has more room for your feet than the 4-wheeler. Both models are much more at home on indoor floors than they are outside, since the tires are solid and not very forgiving when driven on rougher surfaces.
Question: Does the scout 3 come with the batties & charger
Answer: Hello, thank you for your interest in Drive Medical! All Drive Medical Power Scooters will come with the battery and charger.
Question: how easy/difficult is it to assemble after taking it apart to put in into the trunk
Answer: I only remove the seat and lay down the handlebar when transporting. That may not answer your question, but I'll also add that it was very simple to assemble. Disassembly shouldn't be difficult.

User questions & answers

Question: degree for inclines
Answer: The widest part of the M34 scooter is 20". It easily fits through most doorways.
Question: Will this scooter operate on grass and gravel
Answer: Very few scooters have a suspension that will handle rough bumpy surfaces. However, you definitely want to have a four-wheel scooter like this to reduce the chances that your front wheel on a three-wheeled scooter would hit a rut and thrown you off. Three-wheelers are fine, however, on level solid surfaces. Bill Keene 954-421-3169 Boca Home Medical Solutions NOTE: We hope you will find our answer helpful. If you want to buy from us, great. We’d like that. You can, of course, call us with any additional questions.

User questions & answers

Question: Does Medicare cover this as a purchase
Answer: Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) covers walkers as durable medical equipment (DME). The walker must be Medically necessary and prescribed by your doctor or other treating provider for use in your home. No, although exceptions exist under Medicare Part B (80%-20%) if deductibles are met. If you can get a doctor's prescription saying that crutches or canes will not provide the support needed, it may be possible for Medicare Part B to cover a knee walker. Medicare considers this to be a luxury medical device; not one of necessity when crutches will suffice. Also, Medicare will only cover your DME if your doctors and DME suppliers are enrolled in Medicare. Doctors and suppliers have to meet strict standards to enroll and stay enrolled in Medicare. If your doctors or suppliers aren’t enrolled, Medicare won’t pay the claims submitted by them. So ask your supplier first in they participate in Medicare. AMZ is NOT an approved Medicare supplier. Please check locally.
Question: are small or large wheels important. what is the difference in using the scooter
Answer: The big difference with the scooter is that you don't have to use crutches!! It is so much more comfortable! I still needed crutches to use stairs, but otherwise this enabled me to go out and do things. It is painful and exhausting to use crutches. I don't think the size of the wheels make any difference.
Question: Do the brakes lock without having to hold the handle in
Answer: Do the brakes have a locking button or lever that keeps the brakes locked without having to hold the brake by hand? There are conflicting answers posted.
Question: How much does this unit weigh
Answer: This unit weighs approximately 6 lbs. The basket is detachable which makes the unit lighter. The ease of use and light weight make this device user friendly.

Drive Medical Spitfire Pro SE 3 Wheel (Extended Batteries)

Drive Medical

Based on 14 reviews Check latest price

Product description

The Spitfire Pro SE is the newest three-wheel scooter from Drive Medical. The Spitfire Pro SE is an easy to disassemble three-wheel scooter. The scooter separates into four pieces making it easy to transport in the trunk of your car. The travel size and turning radius of a three-wheel scooter make this scooter great for use in smaller spaces such as an apartment, assisted living facility, or an older home. The scooter has two battery options to meet your daily lifestyle. The Spitfire Pro SE comes standard with 12AH batteries for a 9-mile charge range. If your day requires a little more distance, you can upgrade to the extended 21AH batteries for up to a 15-mile range. A wrap around Delta tiller makes steering easier especially for those with grip or hand strength challenges. Instead of having to grip individual handles, you can simply lay your hands atop the Delta tiller and steer much the same as you would with a car’s steering wheel. A 3-inch ground clearance makes clearing uneven surfaces a breeze. Another convenience is two charging ports for your batteries. The batteries can be charged from the battery box or you can charge from the main console eliminating the need and discomfort of bending over to reach the battery box. Five color options allows you to find a look that meets your personal preferences and personality. The Spitfire Pro SE will arrive in one large box. You may require assistance to lift or move the box. The scooter will require some basic assembly – attaching the seat and front basket.

  • Includes 5 interchangeable sets of color panels: red, blue, green, orange, and white
  • Charge range of 9 miles with standard batteries, 15 miles with upgraded batteries
  • 300 pound weight capacity
  • Delta tiller
  • Large, plastic carry basket

User questions & answers

Question: rear basket attachment
Answer: Extra gear. Gives it a different gear ratio with faster line retrieve.
Question: does it come with charger
Answer: This reel is fairly small - it matches up nicely with 6 to 6.5 foot light to medium weight rods. I fish strictly 6 pound test on this reel (the line capacity is not great - it is my one complaint with the reel). Any heavier line (8 or 10 pound test) and I move up to the next larger reel in the Shimano series. Overall, an excellent reel - I've purchased three now.
Question: how much does the actual scooter weights
Answer: Mine came in a box with instructions.
Question: can ipick this yp at the air port
Answer: You can use it, but it is not really a "Saltwater" reel. Maybe you should choose a Shimano Spheros, or Socorro.
