Answer:	It does. it is stable on both sides. The one I bought, as secured to the wall on the right, bends to the right for storage aligned to the wall. But when extended, it locks in place in both directions.

Answer:	The handle sits in a cradle in the open position. When you want to fold it back (against the wall) you lift it out of its cradle and put it to the side where it stays.

Answer:	Anchor points on your trailer, would determine if this would work. I personally would try mounting a hand rail to the floor of your deck.

Question:	Could this be installed on an entry door into house from garage? Will it damage the door
Answer:	We installed ours on the house beside the front door, and by the side of the door into the garage. We use them as grab bars going up the steps. Probably you could only use it ON a door if the door is solid wood. Many doors into houses are hollow inside.
Question:	Is it possible to put this grab bar into brick? I want to use it as a grab bar on my outside front door landing walls
Answer:	I don't see why you couldn't use this grab bar on brick siding as long as you use the appropriate screws. I believe "TAPCON" screws are what you should use. I've copied the guidelines from google on tapcon installment: "When installing screws into brick, drill a hole into the brick or the mortar joint using a carbide bit that's the correct diameter of the tapcon being installed. Drill hole a minimum of 1/2” deeper into the brick or mortar joint than the tapcon screw will penetrate." Make sure the size tapcon you purchase will fit through the screw hole on the grab bar. Also note that tapcon screws are blue, which might make them visually stand out from the black bar. (You could paint them, I suppose) The screws that come with the bar are sturdy and might due the trick, but I doubt they're made for brick. That may, or may not matter to you. Personally, if putting this grab bar over brick, I would try to place is where the screws would mount into the mortar, (easier to repair mortar than brick if ever removing) but I know that isn't always where you might want to install the bar. Be aware also of placing cast iron outside. An ounce of prevention might be to spray a lacquer coating on first to help against moisture. That's what I would probably do. Just saying!

Answer:	The mounting flanges on this model are on 16" centres, with 6 mounting holes on each flange. You should have no problem with regulation studs...the 6 mounting holes are designed to provide for imperfect stud lines.

Question:	how large is mounting area where screws attach
Answer:	Depends on what you are installing into. Wood backing, masonary, drywall with the proper anchors. The finish rings slide on bar to expose a flange that normally will have a few mounting points. Two to three fastners per side. I prefer Toggler brand snap toggles for drywall install.
Question:	What is the wall clearance for this bar? That is the distance between the wall and the inside of the bar
Answer:	The diameter of the mounting feet cover is 3 inches. The overall length is 26 3/4" end of foot cover to end of foot cover.
Question:	What is the additional hardware needed to install on bath tile
Answer:	We just installed these last weekend, put 2 into tiled shower. Used drill bit that specified ok with tile and used caulk around screw plate under cover to keep waterproof. Special drill bit meant tiles didn't crack. Also used stud-finder to mount on studs for added security plus used inset anchors in tile walls to ensure no pull-out when grasped. Took somewhat longer than anticipated to install but when done, not worried about them coming loose or causing safety issues.

Answer:	I bought the 18 inch grab bar but from the top tip of the bracket to the bottom end of the bracket the length is 21 inches.

Answer:	We have a block of wood behind the handle of the door. i think that's pretty standard for a barn door, which is probably why the screws are so long.
Question:	How much weight can it handle
Answer:	My handle is attached to a 150lb barn door made of hickory used as an inside door to my laundry room. It has held up well to pulling it open and closed daily. Of course, it is attached to a very hard, sturdy wood and the door rolls on the tracks easily, so not much pulling or yanking to open the door. I think if you would use it as a handle on a very large outside barn door which doesn't roll well it would still hold up, as each end has 3 screw holes to attach it. The handle seems hollow, but sturdy. I am very pleased with it.

Question:	Should a grab bar be mounted vertically or horizontally, or does it matter
Answer:	Hi Martin, in my case, I needed the bar mounted horizontally, so if my hand slipped at one point, I could slide it on across the bar. The best answer is to decide which works best for you. Even an angle mount is popular in some applications. Mine also doubles as a towel bar, so I mounted it horizontally. Now, structurally, it's going to be the same...find the stud...and if needed, use the mounting kit..(priced separately, but worth it.) Hope this helps!

Question:	I havea entry way that is tricky. would this work outside the bathroom for balance
Answer:	must have wood backing for 9" center to center can not be install to sheetrock wall only screw much be installed inn wood
Question:	I notice that there is no rubber gasket between the grab bar and the wall. Do you worry about water leakage behind the grab bar
Answer:	That was a concern for me too. I simply applied silicone bathroom caulk over the screw heads and mounting plate of the grab bar - before sliding the metal covers into place.
Question:	Can I mount these in sheetrock on my wall adjacent to my bed and on a tile wall in bathroom? If so, what other parts would I need to do this
Answer:	If there is a stud behind the drywall by your bed, you can mount it with screws into the stud. If there is no stud, you will need wall anchors, probably the kind that spread behind the drywall as the screws are tightened. For the tile, you will need a drill for the ceramic tile--don't rush it. Again, if there is a stud, you can screw through the tile and into the stud. If no stud, you need a wall anchor.

Answer:	Yes it will and even if it is wider still will fit. I really like mine and you will too.
Question:	I assume the wall studs are 16" o.c. How can I mount so screws are in wood? (My shower is fibreglass with a small gap between glass and wall
Answer:	My tub is precisely 4 inches. Not being a Mr Fixit, a friend installed for me, but I have a feeling it can be adjusted -- (cant ask installer, who went on vacation). So dont hold me to the 1/2 inch.
