Answer:	Mine appears to be well covered with what appears to be enamel paint on all exposed surfaces, so unless the surface is nicked somehow, and the paint damaged, then I doubt it could rust. Plus, unless you fill the bathtub with water and never empty it, so it leaves the base of the grab bar constantly submerged, (?) should not be an issue.

Answer:	It attaches like a vice grip. Clamps on both sides get tighter as you screw them closed. Basically they can fit many different sized sides of a tub. Answer:	There is very little adjustment in the clamping part of the devise. If this is like the old claw foot tub, I dough it would work. Good luck.

Answer:	I don't believe it will open enough to fit on a corner.
Question:	Why can't this device be used on a fiberglass tub
Answer:	I suspect it is not recommended for fiberglass tub because fiberglass tub walls tend to be not as solid as steel tub walls, thus the clamp might not be able to grab tight enough to the tub, which will increase chances of the tub rail slipping when someone puts much weight on it. There is a chance of damaging/cracking the fiberglass tub wall as well. If you use this with a fiberglass tub, keep in mind you are using it in a way that it is not designed for and the manufacture has warned against using it that way.

The weight limit is too ensure that under that weight it will not break.

Answer:	The opening is just under 6 inches, so if the wall of the tub is less than that, it will fit.

It is then tightened with the wrench supplied ( or a 9mm socket) when tightened down- no harm the tub, but as solid as it needs to be. It is a wonderful aid to get in and out of a tub for either bath or shower!

Answer:	I think it should work. it will hook over the rounded rim of your tub, and the bracket is down lower, and it has a nob that tightens it. If your rounded rim at top is too narrow , The width if the top part that rests in the top edge measures 3 1/2 inches. If the top rounded rim of your tub is smaller, Im sure you could wedge a piece of wood or plastic in to make it fit. Hopefully, maybe someone who has a claw foot tub, and has the bracket, will answer your question. I hope it will work for you because It is very sturdy, and so helpful. Goodluck. Sally
Question:	Can you use this on a fiberglass tub
Answer:	No guarantees, and it will depend on the shape of the inside and outside of your tub. The unit clamps over the side of the tub, and if both the inside and outside of the tub are pretty much flat and vertical, then this will work - IF the fiberglass is fairly stiff. You will have to be careful that you do not tighten the clamp down so tight that it cracks the tub, but it will have to be tight enough so it will not slip. Also keep in mind that especially with a fiberglass tub, the bathtub bar should only be used to steady yourself, not to put your full weight on to pull yourself up, etc. I have a porcelain on cast iron tub that you could drive a truck over and this unit works great. On fiberglass, I expect this will be OK if used with care, and will be much safer than just trying to grab a slippery, soapy tub edge. It also stands up a foot or so above the edge of the tub, so it is much easier to reach when standing, and I really use it the most to steady myself when getting in and out of the tub.
Question:	Is this usable once you are in the shower or only for getting in & out. Is it possible to tuck liner behind bar without water getting everywhere
Answer:	I tuck the shower liner behind the bar once my Mom is inside the tub. Then I put a small towel on the floor just in case. I have not had any problems with excess water. Its a very sturdy bar. I would order again. You could also cut a slit in your curtain to access the handle.

Answer:	I have not put it to the test of 250 pounds, but I am pretty confident it will work fine for a person of your weight coupled with a fiberglass tub. This is a very well built unit and I believe the fiberglass tub is structurally built to handle this with a person of your weight.

Answer:	I do not know. They work quite well in the tiled wall in my walk-in shower. I especially like that they can easily be moved if needed which I needed after installing them and then after use, moved them.. Answer:	My tub is precisely 4 inches. Not being a Mr Fixit, a friend installed for me, but I have a feeling it can be adjusted -- (cant ask installer, who went on vacation). So dont hold me to the 1/2 inch.

Answer:	It’ll initially suction but it won’t last since any wood is porous even if it’s finished or varnished. You can only use this bar for assist or balance. There’s a warning not to use it to pull one’s self up from the tub. That’s dangerous.
Question:	will this work on a regular wall to help get out of a low bed
Answer:	Should work if surface is clean & flat.
Question:	Will this work on 4" tiles
Answer:	did you ever find one with a smaller suction cup? I need that for my subway tiled bathroom.
Question:	how long does it stay on the wall once secured
Answer:	This will work like all suction cups. If the surface is not flat, smooth & clean, the suction cup will not be able to create the vacuum it needs to maintain a solid grip to the surface. The surface does not need to be "Glossy" as it needs to be smooth, flat and free of debris. I hope this helps.
