Question:	Why can't this device be used on a fiberglass tub
Answer:	I suspect it is not recommended for fiberglass tub because fiberglass tub walls tend to be not as solid as steel tub walls, thus the clamp might not be able to grab tight enough to the tub, which will increase chances of the tub rail slipping when someone puts much weight on it. There is a chance of damaging/cracking the fiberglass tub wall as well. If you use this with a fiberglass tub, keep in mind you are using it in a way that it is not designed for and the manufacture has warned against using it that way.

Answer:	I think it should work. it will hook over the rounded rim of your tub, and the bracket is down lower, and it has a nob that tightens it. If your rounded rim at top is too narrow , The width if the top part that rests in the top edge measures 3 1/2 inches. If the top rounded rim of your tub is smaller, Im sure you could wedge a piece of wood or plastic in to make it fit. Question:	Can you use this on a fiberglass tub
Answer:	No guarantees, and it will depend on the shape of the inside and outside of your tub. The unit clamps over the side of the tub, and if both the inside and outside of the tub are pretty much flat and vertical, then this will work - IF the fiberglass is fairly stiff. You will have to be careful that you do not tighten the clamp down so tight that it cracks the tub, but it will have to be tight enough so it will not slip. Also keep in mind that especially with a fiberglass tub, the bathtub bar should only be used to steady yourself, not to put your full weight on to pull yourself up, etc. I have a porcelain on cast iron tub that you could drive a truck over and this unit works great. On fiberglass, I expect this will be OK if used with care, and will be much safer than just trying to grab a slippery, soapy tub edge. It also stands up a foot or so above the edge of the tub, so it is much easier to reach when standing, and I really use it the most to steady myself when getting in and out of the tub.

Answer:	I tuck the shower liner behind the bar once my Mom is inside the tub. Then I put a small towel on the floor just in case. I have not had any problems with excess water. Its a very sturdy bar. I would order again. You could also cut a slit in your curtain to access the handle.

Answer:	The diameter of the suction pads are just over 3.5 inches, so you would want a tile that's bigger than that. 4 inches minimum to be safe.

Answer:	The size is 12” end to end. These are working very well and should always be tested to be sure they are holding tight. The only negative is that there weren’t any instructions or information in the package of the two handles.
Question:	can I lift up from a sitting position, no chair
Answer:	I have standard size tiles in my bath, they are roughly 5'' square, I was able to place the cups so that they were flush on separate tiles but could not get the cups to form a reliable enough suction to be safe. I have not tired to continue to use this product and would not recommend it to anyone. I am going to go with a product that screws into the tile and wall behind it to be sure that it is safe and study enough.

Question:	I would need to place this opposite the toilet. However, on that wall is a window. Can this go below the window? There's 40.5" of space below it
Answer:	It can be used anywhere that you can install it securely and reach it safely. It should be very close to where it is needed. The long Stander pole that is stabilized to floor and ceiling might work better since it does not need a wall for installation.
Question:	Does the curve part lock in place
Answer:	Maybe. Mount it securely. Ours was also used in a modular home installation. They reinforced the bathroom wall (inside wall cavity) with one or two 2 by 4 crossmembers. The bar works very well.

Answer:	It depends on the width of the sides. It adjusts enough to make sitting safe.

Question:	Can this be used to pull myself up out of the tub when taking a bath? I have trouble getting up out of the tub, so have started taking showers only
Answer:	Depending on the tub type. My tub has the claw feet and I had to use a wood block and rubber grip material (the kind used for rugs to prevent sliding) to enable my tub grip to stay in place . If you have the flat edged tub it should not slide but I would do so cautiously. I would not recommend pulling up on rail unless you know for sure it will not slide. My bathtub rail as described above become dislodged as I pulled up out of tub (fortunately I was able to right myself and I did not fall) so I limit myself in taking baths.

Answer:	I have no idea because I LOVE this.
Question:	The side of my tube is 4.75 inches wide. Will this expand to fit that width
Answer:	My tub side is 4". Looks to me the device would expand another inch or so,
Question:	Would this work on a claw foot tub that has a rolled top rather than square
Answer:	I doubt it. The unit has a squarish U-shaped bracket, which slides over the top of the tub wall. The rolled top of the claw-foot tub would allow the bracket to fit securely to the inside of the tub, but would provide no flat surface for the outside of the clamp to secure to. As far as I can tell, since I don't currently have a claw-foot tub.

Answer:	Our apartment tub is very thin on the tub sides. The product is made in China so they are millimeters. I had to go to ACE Hardware and buy (two) bolts the original bolts were too long to tighten the clamp tightly.
Question:	Can this be used on a fiberglass tub
Answer:	40.5" will be too tight to mount the bar and the included bezels which cover the hardware. We have found that the bar is most effective when mounted at approx chest level height which allows the user to pull themselves up and lower themselves down onto the toilet or tub, if you plan to mount it lower then it is possible that it may not be as effective. We also installed the full height tension bar in another room and noticed that it would also be good for the bathroom if you have enough clearance. Cheers!

Answer:	The opening is just under 6 inches, so if the wall of the tub is less than that, it will fit.

Answer:	This unit does not mount on the walls the unit slips over the edge of the tub, does not require padding for the walls.

Answer:	This will go on the outside edge of almost any tub. When you see it the bar has two U-shaped Adjustable LEGS, These fit over the edge of the tub with the U shapes to the outside. It is then tightened with the wrench supplied ( or a 9mm socket) when tightened down- no harm the tub, but as solid as it needs to be. It is a wonderful aid to get in and out of a tub for either bath or shower!

Answer:	I am not sure if the sure if the grips open wide enough to wrap around the edge of the tub. Ask the manufacturer for the widest the grips will open.
