User questions & answers
Question: | Can the temperature output be adjusted to 105F |
Answer: | Most rinnai tankless weather it is out door or indoor, have a control board to adjust temp and either on or off |
Question: | Can I use the Rinnai V65EP in Denver, Co? Temperatures during the winter can get below zero |
Answer: | It can definately be out doors in freezing temps, tho power failure arent good for it while in a freeze, tho keep in mind it will use alot more energy for frost protection, indoor units are safer amd more efficient in this case |
Question: | Does this unit come with controller? rinnai tech said i needed a mc-91-2us controller? do i need to buy separate |
Answer: | I bought model V65EN. It came with a wired digital controller. The installer did not run the wire into the house and mount the controller indoors. He simply set the controller at 120 degrees and left the controller inside the unit. If I want to change the temp, I have to take the cover of the unit. |
Question: | What does the "Low NOx Mean |
Answer: | Good place to check for info like this is Wikipedia. Here is what they say: Energy efficiencieseditMore tangible cost savings are defined when comparing the energy efficiencies of gas heaters with low NOx emissions with conventional flued types. Gas heaters with emission problems are flued and inherently lose substantial energies in the form of hot flue gases to the atmosphere. In addition, the choice of placement of flued heaters is greatly impaired due to flue installation restrictions. In contrast, dedicated low emission gas heaters do not require a flue system. Furthermore, with the introduction of oxygen depletion sensors and thermostatic controls, they do not place critical reliance on ventilation as previously was the case. These heaters can be positioned more conveniently and centralised to affect optimum warm air distribution. By definition unflued low NOx gas heaters are 100% efficient as all heat energy released from the flame is converted to useful heat.Hope this helps. June |

Question: | can i vent this thru a masonry chimney |
Answer: | It needs to be ported outside. |
Question: | What is the highest temperature achievable from this water heater? Will it produce temperatures in excess of 150 degrees F |
Answer: | Assuming you have everything hooked up correctly, at 3.5 GPM, the MAX TEMP will be NO MORE THAN 55 degrees ABOVE THE TEMPERATURE OF THE INCOMING WATER. For example, if the incoming water temp is 50 degrees in the winter, then the max winter temp will be 105. In the summer, when the incoming water is 65 degrees, the max summer temp will be 120 degrees. This is the way ALL demand heaters work. Be SURE to check the TEMPERATURE RISE specification on ANY demand heater to know what it is truly capable of. If the TEMP RISE is specified at 3GPM, and you try to set it higher, it may CUT BACK THE FLOW RATE to achieve the higher temp, but it will NEVER exceed the TEMP RISE spec. |
