14 best kindle paperwhite format

The term "Kindle Paperwhite format" typically refers to the file formats supported by the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite e-reader for reading e-books. Kindle Paperwhite supports several common e-book formats:

  1. Kindle Format (AZW, AZW3): This is Amazon's proprietary e-book format. It is optimized for Kindle devices and can include features like adjustable font sizes and background colors.

  2. MobiPocket (MOBI, PRC): This is an older e-book format, and Kindle devices, including the Paperwhite, have been compatible with it for a long time. It's similar to AZW files and is used for older e-books.

  3. Plain Text (TXT): Kindle Paperwhite supports plain text files. However, it's important to note that text files do not support formatting like images or text styles.

  4. PDF (PDF): While the Kindle Paperwhite can display PDF files, it's worth mentioning that the formatting may not always translate well, especially for complex PDFs. Users may need to zoom in and pan around to read certain documents.

  5. HTML (HTML, HTM): Kindle Paperwhite can display basic HTML files. However, complex HTML documents with extensive formatting may not display correctly.

  6. Word (DOC, DOCX): While Kindle Paperwhite can read Word documents, they may not always render perfectly due to differences in formatting between e-books and word processing documents.

  7. Images (JPEG, PNG, GIF): Kindle Paperwhite can display images, but they are typically viewed in grayscale.

  8. Comics (CBR, CBZ): With appropriate software or conversion, Kindle Paperwhite can display comic book files, though the viewing experience might be limited due to the device's grayscale screen.

  9. Audible Audiobooks: The Kindle Paperwhite also supports Audible audiobooks, but it's worth noting that you'll need to pair it with Bluetooth headphones or speakers to listen.

Remember, to read e-books on your Kindle Paperwhite, you generally purchase and download them directly from the Amazon Kindle Store, which will provide them in a compatible format for your device. If you obtain e-books from other sources, you may need to convert them to a compatible format using software like Calibre.

User questions & answers

Question: What are the dimensions of this case
Answer: I am not sure of the exact dimension, howver it fits the Kindle like a glove it is very thin all arround, it does not use any straps etc to hold the Kindle in place it just fits snug.I had the old Kindle and the old cover where it used a couple of straps to hold it in, this is much better method and much thiner, I would say bar far the best cover out there, although a little pricy, it is worth the extra cost.
Question: Does this case fit the newest paperwhite
Answer: Please note that this question is from 2015. This case will not fit the current, as of July 2019, 10th generation "newest" kindle paperwhite. It will fit all generations prior to that.
Question: Can you fold the cover all the way back easily
Answer: You can fold it back easily. However, I have never needed to fold it back. The cover (with the Kindle inserted) is light and easy to hold. A lot lighter than the covers on my older Kindle.
Question: Is this genuine leather or "genuine" (that is, fake, PU) leather
Answer: Buying leather products can be tricky. With a variety of industry terms, it’s hard to tell what kind of leather you’re getting, the level of quality, and whether you’re paying an appropriate price for the quality. The following focuses on what SOME of the leather industry terms mean when referring to leather quality.Artificial LeatherAlso known as PU leather, pleather and synthetic leather, artificial leather is exactly that: fake leather. There are a variety of materials and ways to make artificial leather, and some are better than others, but at the end of the day it’s not real leather.Split LeatherSplit leather is leather created from the fibrous part of the hide left once the top-grain of the rawhide has been separated from the hide. During the splitting operation, the top-grain and drop split are separated. The drop split can be further split (thickness allowing) into a middle split and a flesh split. In very thick hides, the middle split can be separated into multiple layers until the thickness prevents further splitting. Split leather then has an artificial layer applied to the surface of the split and is embossed with a leather grain (bycast leather). Splits are also used to create suede. The strongest suedes are usually made from grain splits (that have the grain completely removed) or from the flesh split that has been shaved to the correct thickness. Suede is "fuzzy" on both sides. Manufacturers use a variety of techniques to make suede from full-grain. A reversed suede is a grained leather that has been designed into the leather article with the grain facing away from the visible surface. It is not considered a true suede.Bonded LeatherBonded leather is partially synthetic. It contains bits and pieces of leather that are usually ground up and mixed with the synthetic materials to give the leather the appearance of leather. Leather content will vary across brands, so this also happens to be one of the most unpredictable types of leather, quality-wise. Like fully synthetic leather, if you’re looking for the real thing, it’s best to avoid bonded leathers.Genuine LeatherGenuine leather is real leather, but is the leftover parts from the two higher quality levels. The leather in genuine leather often doesn’t look as nice, so the part of the leather item that’s exposed might be painted to look like higher quality leather, meaning that you won’t even see the real leather part. Genuine leather can also be several layers of lower quality leather glued together.Top Grain LeatherTop Grain leather refers to the process of sanding away the natural grain from the top surface of the leather. Imitation grain gets stamped into the leather to give a more uniform look, but no genuine grain remains. The word "top" often confuses seekers of the finest leather because it infers that it is "the tops" in quality. This is generally a quality leather, but because it doesn’t contain the top layer, this leather isn’t as strong as full grain leather. Top grain leather also won’t age nicely with wear and tear.Full Grain LeatherIt means that this leather comes from the top layer of the animal’s skin. The real "tops" in quality is Full Grain leather. The best upholstery Full Grain leathers should display the natural markings and grain characteristics from the animal of which it was taken. Full Grain leathers generally come from a better quality hide or skin and no sanding processes are applied to its surface. Full Grain leathers offer a natural look and feel and are treated by transparent aniline dyes. There may be imperfections already present on full grain leather, which is a testament to its quality. These blemishes were already on the animal’s skin when it was cut. Full grain leather is also the most durable, which means it will age beautifully over time.Certain brand name products use leather from animals raised in an environment where their skins will not be damaged during their life.Three additional terms not dealt with above.Pure Aniline LeatherPure Aniline leathers fall into the elite 5% of Full Grain leather available. These grains are also sometimes referred to as Aniline Full Grain, True Aniline and Naked Aniline , or Natural grains. People who love the natural characteristics and markings of the very purest quality hides and are searching for the softest leather generally seek out Pure Aniline Grains.Semi-Aniline grain leathers are processed a little more than Pure Aniline leathers. They receive a nominal level of manufactured coatings that conceal minor surface defects but do not cover the natural characteristics of the hide. Semi-Aniline grains fall into the top 10-15% of the Full Grain leathers.NubuckNubuck is a type of aniline leather that has a velvet like texture and extremely lush appearance. The grain has not been processed, but it is brushed and polished. The surface of Nubuck will change shade when you run your hand across it. The grain of Nubuck has a velvety look and feel and is of a slightly higher quality than suede, which is actually the inner side of the skin that gets buffed into a soft nap.Aniline leathers can be identified by lightly scratching the surface of the leather. If the leather scratches to a lighter color, it may be an Aniline grain. You may also test the surface by lightly rubbing a wetted finger or a protection cream into a hidden area of the leather. If it darkens slightly then dries invisibly, it is Aniline grain leather.Corrected Leather GrainsCorrected Leather grains fall into the Top Grain Leather category. These leathers go through considerable processing of sanding, buffing, stamping and then dyeing. The purpose of this processing is to create a uniform look that removes insect bites, barbed-wire scratches and other environmental markings that might appear on the hide. Corrected Leather grains fall into the next 18% of leathers.Grains of leather that fall below the 18% mark should be avoided in the upholstery of your next leather furniture purchase. The tissue structure of materials in split-grains, patent leather and bonded leather do not measure up to the durability and quality of Full Grain and Top Grain leathers.References.The majority of the above information was gleaned, shamelessly plagiarized, from :-WikipediaModern Man BagsOrion Leather Company via eBayThat may have plagiarized the information from elsewhere.E&OE
