Question: What type of probes are you guys using with these? Will 100mhz probes work on this 200mhz machine
Answer: 100mhz probes will physically work with this oscilloscope (I use a 100mhz differential probe with this due to cost limitations), but be well aware of the limitations of the probes, readings will be less accurate at 100mhz and nearly unusable at the 200mhz range of the oscilloscope. The oscilloscope does come with 4 ok probes that are rated at 200mhz. You are always better off using probes that are rated at least as high as the oscilloscope or higher, your results depend on it.
Question: Can this model be upgraded by the USB
Answer: I have seen 1 update to the SDS1202X-E since I have had it. The update was done by placing the update file on a USB drive, and then selecting the file. It was quick and easy.

Answer: You realize this scope only has an input analog bandwidth of 200 Mhz. The typical low end spectrum analyzer about ($1500) has a bandwidth up to 1.5-2.0 Ghz. SA's also generally come with a tracking generator, which outputs a signal at the exact same frequency being measured at that moment, so you can pass it through a device to measure it's spectrum attenuation. For frequency's below 200 Mhz, the FFT function on this scope will give you some of the same data a SA would give under some conditions. A SA has an enormously more sensitive input. If you connect an antenna to a SA input, it gives a very good display. An antenna connected to the input of this/most oscilloscopes will not show much of anything, as there is not enough signal strength. A SA will also generally have a much higher resolution spectrum,. If you show 200 Mhz of spectrum on this scope, with a 1 million sample FFT, that gives 1/2 million FFT buckets, so each must be about 400 Hz wide. In favor of the oscilloscope, if you're only dealing with low frequencies, a typical spectrum analyzer has a lower frequency limit, like often in the 5 khz range, so is useless below that. For audio work, a scope with a good FFT is way more useful than a RF SA. The FFT function on this scope looks a lot better than on the Rigol scopes due to it's much larger sample size limit.

Answer: I got this for training my son in very low frequency projects, so I cannot tell you I tried at 300 MHz. However, I think it will work if you are going to measure ~300 MHz signal, only if bandwidth (frequency span) of the signal is less than 50 MHz. This unit is designed to measure up to 350 MHz signal.
Question: Can you use this with labview? my son is doing project in labview and i'm looking for a cheap spectrum analyzer
Answer: I am not familiar with Labview but if it calls for a spectrum analyzer than this one should work.

Answer: works as is!! Connecting it to a computer merely gives you a much larger screen and the ability to work with a mouse if you like. If you don't mind the small screen and a touch screen (much too small for my fingers, I have a stlyus), it is just find as it is.

Answer: Hi! My name is Sara and I am with Beyond Med Shop. Usually, it takes about 10 seconds after turning on the oximeter to get a reading. Please note though that when your blood perfusion level is low or when your hands are cold, the device may need more time to optimize and register an accurate reading. In this instance, we suggest that you warm your hands and fingers before taking the measurements. You can do this simply by rubbing your hands together. Remember your pulse oximeter is measuring your SpO2 and PR based on your blood flow. If the blood flow in your finger drops below a certain level, the pulse oximeter will not be able to function. Answer: Yes I have and the heart rate is very close. I have several of these and COPD and this ones heart rate at least the one that I have is very good. On the cell phone app which is called Oximeter the oxygen sensor is way off like 5 points high which is critical and I was told that the cell phone oximeter was more designed for sports than for actual health problems! as an example a five point spread could cause major organ damage do to low oxygen!

Answer: Not an expert on TV VHF and UHF, but I believe the TinySA range covers the UHF and VHF spectrum. With some calibration and manual setting (research on YouTube) it will provide accuracy that meets most needs. It is not a $2500 SA, so expect a certain amount of "ok, but its only $50 bucks". Also, ATTENUATE if signal strength/input is expected to be high. Again, research videos with professional testing from engineers. There's plenty of help online.
Question: can this be used to display and analyze noise on an AC power line
Answer: You might be better off with an oscilloscope. The TinySA does not have high input impedance and a direct measurement on the power line would likely damage it (and be very unsafe).

If you put a short 8 inch length of sewing thread in the lanyard loop and fold the thread so the thread ends meet, then you can easily get the thread through the hole and pull the thread until the lanyard Loop comes through. Remove the thread, then loop the lanyard.

Q: It's not accurate and jumps around on the reading. Is the pulse oximeter defective?

A: When taking a reading with the pulse oximeter, we usually suggest that you wait about 30 seconds for the readings to stabilize. Some people require a longer time for the pulse oximeter to optimize its sensitivity. Following that, please also ensure that you keep your hand still because any movement can cause the device to reset its' reading - hence the erratic readings that you see. Additionally, nail polish and false fingernails may also cause false readings. If possible, switch to an unpolished nail or consider another application site.

Answer: Yes it does! To invoke the menu touch the bottom right hand corner of the screen. It is preferable to use a plastic stylus to touch the screen - I use a cut down 5.5mm diameter knitting needle. The point needs to very blunt (definitely not a sharp point) and well rounded. This particular model of the nanoVNA is probably the best on the market currently!
Question: Can this tool be used instead of an regular antenna analyzer like a Rig Expert
Answer: I did not either but I did google the NanoVNA which is the same and. Saw several YouTube videos that allowed me to calibrate and use the VNA to measure SWR and actually sweep a frequency range of my choosing along with displaying the graph of my choice

Answer: The frequency of the Electric and Magnetic fields radiating from power lines (60Hz range) are a lot lower than the frequencies wireless devices transmit at. So no the Safe and Sound Pro II will not measure power lines. This will measure frequencies between 200MHz - 12GHz.

Answer: You can determine the direction of a source with the Safe and Sound Pro II, but will not be as accurate compared to a Gigahertz Solutions RF meter that uses a Log-Per Directional antenna.

Question: I know it can do an fft but does it show frequencies for the harmonics in a waveform? what's the frequency resolution for the fft? thanks
Answer: Normally the FFT is done on the screen data, so only about 1024 points. I read there is a settings to use 16K FFT points. This means the maximum FFT frequency resolution would be sample frequency/16K. The competing Siglent scope is available (2 channel version) or on (as of 12/07/17) backorder (4 channel version), and they both have a 1M FFT size, so much higher frequency resolution. The 2 channel version also has 200 Mhz of analog bandwidth. You also can download the samples, and use some external program for the FFT analysis. Another option is to spend $150 and get the home (or even cheaper student version if you're a student) version of Matlab, although I'd verify if the FFT function needs any extra packages (which cost extra). You could talk to the scope over Ethernet via LXI to read the sample data. In theory, you could make a 12M signal capture, and your FFT resolution would be sample rate/12M, so if you sample at a gigasample, that comes to 1,000,000,000/12,000,000=83 hz FFT resolution on like a 50 Mhz signal. Of course sampling 1 gigasample on a 50/100 Mhz bandwidth scope may be overkill, so you might reduce the sample rate, improving the maximum FFT resolution. Also note the window function may degrade the resolution some (like in the 2x range), depending on which window function you use. The window function with the best frequency resolution tends to also have large sidebands (spectrum leakage into FFT bins next to a peak). I think the question is how much frequency resolution do you need? At what frequency range? An oscilloscope FFT is generally not an RF spectrum analyzer. For things like audio signals, this scope may give very useful frequency resolution. Note that if you're looking at digital signals (square waves) the harmonics are all odd, and the 50/100 Mhz bandwidth runs out fast (like a 10 Mhz square wave clock, has 30 Mhz, 50Mhz, 70Mhz, 90Mhz harmonics), so 50 Mhz of bandwidth barely can show the 5th harmonic).

Answer: I definitely prefer a 4-channel scope. For example: you can see SI, SO, CS and SCLK all at the same time on a SPI interface.

Answer: RigolNA is currently (Dec 2017) including free option BND-MSO/DS1000Z which "includes serial decode, deep memory, record mode, and triggering". I don't know if this is the same as 24 Mpts or if this option is included with this item.

Answer: Well, the hardware of the 50MHz, 70MHz, and 100MHz versions of this scope are all identical actually, with the bandwidth limited by software. If you bought the 50MHz version (this item), you wouldn't be the first person to accidentally stumble upon web pages telling you how to generate and enter a license key that unlocks 100MHz bandwidth and a few other features...What you don't want is one of the older DS1000E series scopes, as they lack intensity-graded display and have only 2 channels, not 4.

Question: All i want to know if this detector gq emp-390 will detect 5ghz wifi signal and 5g cell phone
Answer: Yes it will detect 5GHz signal but not in all modes of operation. If it is the predominant source then the general Radio Frequency RF mode reading will reflect it. If it is a source mixed with others than all sources will be reported together as one value (sum/average over time...unknown. most likely average). It will not detect it in spectrum analyzer, by frequency, and show it's individual power level. Spectrum analyzer will detect 2.4GHz wifi. 5GHz is out of range of spectrum analyzer as is everything greater than 2.5GHz. It might detect presence of 5GHz data packet bytes in digital mode but I don't know for sure, have not tested this.
Question: Can it tell you how much emf your cell phone emits
Answer: yes it does, in 3 scales. some readings read a voltage per meter and another is electro-magnetic reading, I searched through alot and after receiving this I found it to be the best affordable technology in its class, and it even automatically identifies the difference between cell phone and power line EMF in digital readable format.

If you are asking whether it will analyze 5G as in 5th generation Millimeter Waves, the answer is NO.. 5th Generation 5G will use frequencies between 30Ghz and 300Ghz... You can get one that costs about $40,000... As in, they are not available to the public .

Answer: The 5G wifi is referring to 5Ghz Wifi, and it is covered by this meter RF band. The 5G cell phone network is referring to 5th Generation cell phone network, it is nothing to do with 5GHz, basically its base band is much higher than 5Ghz
