I purchased this product but only received the sutures? I was under the impression it was the complete set including the accessories? Is this correct

Answer:

I have used these several times. I am a fisherman and hiker and I keep a few of these handy at all times. The area requiring suture is numbed usually with ice and the sutures done. Yea, sometimes it is painful, but the flow of blood is stopped. My family dr. does not do sutures, the local health group forbids this, so you must use the ER. I'm not paying $1000 for 2-3 stitches, even though insurance would pay all.

Answer:	I'm a surgical technician and I'll buy one of these for real life emergencies. It has everything u need to close a deep wound that requires stiching. You put the needle into the needle holder and with the other hand use the forceps to gather the tissue you want to suture. Look into other sutures though make sure they are sterile. For deeper wounds you need absorbable sutures. For skin closure you can use either absorbable or nonabsorbable. Also look into surgical staples. Practice how to suture and if God forbid situation calls for it you'll be self sufficient. The main problem would be lack of anesthesia.

Answer:	It is a normal size needle holder but the actual suture pad is terrible!! As you a sewing the needle and the suture breaks through the material it is made out of. It’s like a rubber consistency. Terrible for practicing how to suture!! Don’t waste your money!!

Answer:	The bottle caps, ruler, and red/white string are used together for learning how to tie square knots and surgeon’s knots (and to avoid a granny’s knot). You need to stick the bottle caps to the sides of the ruler to build a bridge-like structure. The string goes halfway through the “bridge”. It helps to visualize the know-tying process, which is, for most people, confusing at first. Answer:	No the skin does not need to be broken. Apply the cream liberally to skin area you want numb then cover loosely with saran wrap for 45 mins right before you start the tattoo. Remove the plastic wrap and you'll be numb to the needle pain for a few hours. You won't be 100% pain free but it makes a huge difference in the amount of pain you'll feel. I’m not a doctor so any advice I provide should be followed up with your own research. I believe the reason is that these lack the appropriate labeling from the FDA to be used on humans (or animals). This said, sutures that are appropriately labeled are much more expensive. I purchased mine to include in my remote first aid kit and have taken a course on emergency suturing. I’m of the opinion that having these would be better than nothing if in an emergency. And I would immediately take a person (or pet) to a doctor/vet following any such application. We spend a lot of time hiking and camping in extremely remote locations. Hope this helps.
