The limbic system is not a single structure, but a set of internal structures that includes the thalamus, hypothalamus, amygdala, etc. The model labels 130 areas, some with words, but most with numbers and a key. The answer to your question is "Yes", but a basic knowledge of brain anatomy is needed depending on the topic. When I'm discussing emotions the amygdala is relevant. When I'm discussing empathy the mirror neurons are relevant. I checked out 5 different models and selected this one due to its size (twice actual size of the brain) so students can see where I'm pointing better. My daughter is also a psychologist, specializing in therapy with drug and alcohol addictions. She uses the model to show the areas where substance abuse may affect functioning. Hope this helps. If you were using this model as an instructional aid, you would easily be able to "point" to the location of the amygdala. I chose to 'color code' the right hemisphere to highlight the 4 lobes and other key areas - students have found this particularly helpful... definitely worth the time and money for me.
