Answer:	I think they are the same disk nearly, when I test the performance, they behave no difference.Moreover, both disks use the same firmware version.However, when i check the warranty period on Toshiba website, x300 stated as 3 years and ph3500u stated as 2 years, totally mixed up.

Question:	What's the difference between this one and the older model
Answer:	The X300 uses more advanced storage techniques and more efficient cache management techniques and protocols. It is faster, and more efficient. There is nothing wrong with the older model, I have both in use n my network, but the x300 is better suited for a busy digital media server especially if your server/workstation has multiple core processors. I like the X300 the only drawback (if you want to call it that) is tha te X300 is a little bit on the noisy side due t the read/write head technology used. It is not objectionable in my opinion. Both drives have been dependable.

Answer:	This has a two year warranty from the time of purchase. First and foremost how do you know if your drive has a failure? Can you read any of the partitions? Did you use this is a windows machine? You need to check the drive for bad sectors to start with.

Answer:	you did not say wich ps4 , i only know the first model ps4 and the second model ps4 , and i have 6 terrabyte toshiba x300 7200 drives in both my ps4s , i used a esata to sata cable to plug into ps4 internal sata port and pluged the esata plug iinto the external housing , i bought the rosewill housing with blue light on the front with cirle fan vents on the top becouse it has a fan in it , its on amazon fopr about 30 bucks the housing search rosewill external housing esata , then search on amazon for a sata to esata cable get 2 or 3 they are cheap in case you need and extra fro making a miostake , you will need to use needle nose pliers to fish the sata plug onto the sata port( be carefull you do not bend the port , once its obn their electric tape it onto the cagegoing out the back , cut off the corner back vent to make those 2 corner vents one big vent so you will have more room for the esata to sata cable , rest the ghousing on top of the ps4 , it looks good with the blkue light it goes well with the ps4 , i did this to og ps4 first model and og ps4 second model , i still have both they run flawless filled with games , i never used rest mode ever so i do not know if rest mode will work i have no use fopr rest mode , this is if you want your hard drive to be INTERNAL , this will put your hard drive in a external case but the ps4 will think its a internal drive

Answer:	I've had a Toshiba hdd fail, but I'm actually considering replacing it with this one. My current (dead) drive lasted nearly two years even with dumb me installing my OS on it. I'd rather trust Toshiba over Seagate or WD, personally.

Answer:	My drive wouldn't mount on most of my computers, and would hammer and click for a while before showing up on one. Another computer started working just fine, so I just used it there, but the drive letters started switching all around before it just wouldn't mount anymore. I opened it up, very difficult to do, thinking I'd be able to mount and recover the data but it looks like won't be that easy. I'd try another computer, and take your data off it and consider it unreliable

Answer:	In a stock PS4? No. The PS4 can only hold a 2.5" hard drive internally. But, if you purchased the Nyko Data Bank for your PS4, you could essentially use any 3.5" hard drive that you wanted.Update: I just installed this hard drive in my PS4 (with an external set-up), and it functions FLAWLESSLY.
Question:	Does this drive come w/any cables
Answer:	Bare drive is just that ... BARE.You need a place to put it and that is where cable connections come into play.I use an external case/power supply and all cables came with it. (NexStar CX)Internal use might require purchase of a cable. I must use external since mycomputer is a laptop. ONE eSATA connection gives me a classic two drive system. The Toshiba is a third drive. Both are in external cases.
Question:	does this hard drive last a long time? trying to find a good reliable one for a low price
Answer:	Generally, Toshiba HDD's tend to last longer than most other brands but from time to time some bad drives get out there. You would be hard pressed to find a more reliable brand out there, overall. I have a Toshiba 350 GB HDD (circa 2007) that I just recently relegated to a older secondary PC that saw everyday use for almost 10 years and it is still going strong.
Question:	Someone can to tell me what to do? after installation it not works and it was one month after bought. I tried to talk with Toshiba.com, too bad
Answer:	I was shocked to just discover this drive is not listed on the Toshiba US website. I own three of the drives and one from 2014 just failed. When I went to investigate the warranty terms by putting in the model number in the support website (http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=DT01ACA300), the pop-up error message was this product is unknown in the Americas, New Zealand, and Australia. I will post a review with a screen print of the message.
