There is a WHITE dot on the stem to facilitate the identification of the active sound channel. If one side is open, the other side will be closed, preventing sound from coming in through the closed side.

How to change the stethoscope frequency

The membrane side (high frequencies) and the funnel side (low frequencies) can be alternated by turning the stethoscope head. The stethoscope head needs to be firmly placed on the skin while listening. When measuring arterial blood pressure, the stethoscope head can be placed under the blood-pressure cuff with the membrane facing down. You can check which side is active by locating the open/closed funnel opening, or by touching the membrane with your finger while the headphones are in your ears.

The stethoscope is made of high-quality material

If you are not satisfied with the pressure of the stethoscope on your ears, follow these rules:

- If the pressure is too low, take the headphones and push them together while they are not being worn.

- If the pressure is too high, take and headphones and pull them away from each other while they are not being worn.

Be careful not to overextend in either direction.

How to fit earbuds for a comfortable fit

The headphones are manufactured to be anatomically correct, but the contact pressure of the earbuds can be chosen individually. Earbuds are made of very soft material and rotate freely. This ensures ideal noise cancelling and prevents the generation of external noises.

Earbuds of different sizes are included with the stethoscope for you to choose the correct fit.

Elite Medical Instruments offers various stethoscopes at different tiers. The Dual Head Stethoscope is our entry level model and good for home use, those on a budget, medical students, and nurse students.

Dual Head Design

The Dual-head stethoscope design allows the user to listen to different/specific ranges of sound when rotating the chest piece to allow the large or small side to be active at a time.

Note: Only one side of the chest piece is active at a time when clicked into place.

To rotate the chest piece, hold the tubing constant and rotate the chest piece until a click is felt.

You may also peer into the hole to see which side is active, if the hole is black on the small side, then the small side is currently active. If the hole is not black and the metal chamber is visible, then the large side is active.
