Answer:	It's an adhesive putty, kind of like blue-tac, that you can put on the Spirograph to hold it in place. It then comes off without damaging the paper. It's also reusable.

Answer:	The Spirograph is suitable for a child 8 and older, maybe a well-coordinated 6 year old, but younger children may get frustrated too quickly and never learn to enjoy this art design toy. A lot depends on the patience and willingness of an adult to assist the child.

Answer:	The set from the 70's had holes that allowed you to pin the pieces to cardboard, but only the circle pieces here have holes. But, there's nothing preventing you from carefully drilling holes in these new style pieces, and I plan to do just that.

Answer:	I think you'd have to use the holes meant for the pens. For example you can pin a wheel down and use a ring to draw around it instead of the wheel inside the ring.

Answer:	This Spirograph set (the diecast set) only comes with the 144/96 ring so the largest "inside" design you can get is approximately 2.25 inches.
Question:	Does this come with a case to put the rings and pens in, when not being used
Answer:	It comes with two pens but any regular ballpoint pen is fine. Depending on the effect you wish to achieve, you can use different "points", such as a fine point or medium point. You could also use colored pencils or sharpies if you wish. I like to try different things to see different outcomes. This is a very nice, sturdy set and, as long as you keep track of all the pieces, it should last a life-time. I gave it to the kids next door after I used it for a while and am thinking about buying an additional set for myself to keep.
