Most high speed dryers have sound levels at 70 decibel and above. the advantage of a high-speed unit like this is that it dries hands very quickly. Unfortunately, this does create a certain noise level. There are some slower velocity dryers that would be less noisy, but they also dry hands more slowly.

Answer:	I purchased 3. I have not had any problems what so ever. Not sure how it would get broken.
