Answer:	Hello... It's 3 1/2 inches front to back on both sides (inside measurement) and 2 7/8 inches across the back (inside also). It works very well with my 5-ton electric and does the 4-way split well making lots of kindling. I put some tool-dip coating on the front inside to keep it from slipping up and off the main wedge. Works better. You can't put anything too big through this 4-way wedge, but on small to medium stuff it works great and it's the best product for the money... Good luck!

Answer:	Could you be more specific as to what size, length, etc., the piston on your Troy Log splitter is? This splitter is sold with the 5-7 Ton Splitters by Boss, I would think using it on a Splitter with over twice the (intended) power would damage, or destroy it. This item is welded steel construction, however, I have seen much larger (more rigid & expensive) 4-ways intended for more powerful splitters. It may fit(?), but I would not recommend it, get with Troy and use theirs.

Answer:	I haven't had any problems with it getting stuck, but I only use it on small to medium logs, nothing bigger than 6-8 inches in diameter. It works great.
Question:	Will it split tree stumps to make them easier to remove
Answer:	I would advise NOT to try this. Most likely you will embed the wedge and have a terrible time removing it. Most logs are cut into manageable sections that can be split. My estimate is that they range from 12 inch to 36 inch logs. The split follows a linear direction that won't occur in the tree base. A stump could be several feet long, curves this way and that, and the root system complicates the split too. Again, I just don't think it is a good idea.

Answer:	About 1-3/4to 2 inches. My splitter is larger so I use the splitter itself to push it onto my wedge. I used some Steel stock instead of wood in my splitter to keep it completely flat until it wedged fully on to my existing wedge. I had to drill the hole for the bolt. I have used it for 3 months and has worked great.

Answer:	I doubt it. I own the Boss 28 ton splitter it was designed for. It fits right over the wedge like a glove and the bolt hole lines directly up with a hole on the splitter. You may be able to get it to work on another manufacturers splitter but you will probably have to do your own alterations.

Question:	Is the wedge edge sharp at all? the description says no sharp edges. seems counter intuitive
Answer:	Yes-it is not sharp. It cannot slice a finger. I love this device. I use a short handled dead blow mallet(steel head). That hammer creates a force that the wedge thus splits the wood. My only remaining trick is- I have not yet found a spot to fasten this to- there are two holes. I am seeking something like a stump that is 2 feet off the ground. I haven't come across yet. So most often use a flat stepping stone- instead of earth. This device makes very nice kindling. Use for both indoor fireplace and solo stove. It is an excellent product.
