12 best sleeve anchors
Sleeve anchors are handy devices used in construction and industrial applications to secure objects to concrete, brick, or other masonry surfaces. They're part of the broader category of anchors and fasteners, specifically designed for stability and durability.
Now, the sleeve anchor consists of a threaded rod, an external sleeve, and a nut.The process begins by drilling a hole into the chosen material, then inserting the sleeve anchor into the hole. As the nut is tightened, the sleeve expands against the walls of the hole, creating a strong grip. This mechanism ensures a reliable and robust connection, making sleeve anchors suitable for heavy-duty tasks.
These anchors come in various materials like steel, stainless steel, and even different coatings to resist corrosion. Choosing the right sleeve anchor depends on factors such as load capacity, environmental conditions, and the type of material being anchored into.
Overall, sleeve anchors play a crucial role in providing stability and support in construction and industrial settings, making them a staple in the world of fasteners.

Diameter of Anchor
The diameter of the anchor is 3/8".
Length Anchor
The length of the anchor is 1-7/8"
Minimum Embedment
The minimum anchor embedment into the concrete is 1-1/4". Therefore, the anchor must be installed so that a minimum of 1-1/4" of the anchor is embedded into the concrete.
Maximum Fixture Thickness
The maximum fixture thickness or the maximum thickness of the material being fastened for a anchor is 5/8". This will ensure that the minimum embedment of 1-1/4" will be met.
Fixture Hole Diameter
The hole in the fixture or material being fastened must be larger than the designated diameter of the anchor. The 3/8" diameter anchor requires the hole in the fixture to be 1/2".
Spacing between Anchors
Each anchor must be spaced a minimum distance of 3-3/4" from each other when measured center to center.
Edge Distance
It is very important not to install the anchor any closer than 1-7/8" from an unsupported edge of the concrete.

Question: | What is the sheer and tensile strength of these |
Answer: | No clue. California is an odd place. |
Question: | Will this work to attach a wooden fence to a cinder block wall |
Answer: | I'm not sure either, but it may be the oil that comes on the knife or the bearing grease. That's just my guess. On another note, Amazing knife for it's value. |
Question: | Is 3/8 inch the size of the bolt, or the hole required |
Answer: | Yes it locks open from the bottom side of the handle |
Question: | what is the masonary drill size needed to install these in a concrete floor |
Answer: | 2.4 ounces according to the website, I own the G-10 and stainless handle and I can say that the G-10 is very light at less than half the weight of the stainless though they are both light, the G-10 also opens faster and has better washers. I still prefer the more solid stainless one myself. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I use these for brick as well, or solely concrete? Needing to attach pull-up bar to brick wall |
Answer: | I personally have this knife and the belt clip could be used to attach to boot. |
Question: | What is the thread length! Thank you |
Answer: | They are made in China. Not all are that bad though. |
Question: | Can this be installed on blocks |
Answer: | I use the Spyderco sharpener. I'd give this about 30 swipes across the 30 degree angle and finish with 20 each side on the 40 degree angle. 14c28n is decent steel and takes a good edge. Don't expect super steel performance. Use it within its limitations and you should be quite pleased with your purchase. |
Question: | x 2 3/4 what size bit and depth of hole |
Answer: | Not sure, I have had no problem with sharpness retentions. For the price and every day carry, it is a great value. |

Expansion is created by tightening a threaded bolt which draws a tapered cone expanding a sleeve against the walls of the hole.
How to use:Put the expansion screw into the ground or the hole on the wall and then tighten the nuts of the expansion bolt with wrench. The bolt goes outside while the metal sheath does not move. Thus the bigger head of the bolt will expand the metal sheath, making it fill the whole hole. Now, the expansion screw can not be pulled out.
Widely used in fence, burglarproof doors and window, canopy, air conditioning rach fixation, home decoration, engineering, etc.
No rust,no deformation,non-pollution.

User questions & answers
Question: | They are for my gun safe. Will I be able to remove them when I move |
Answer: | It will work as long as the anchor hole in the brick is drilled tight enough and the cinder block is tough enough |
Question: | Will this work with standard cinder block walls? What size should I get |
Answer: | The hole you drill is 3/8” by at least 2 1/2” deep |
Question: | What is the thread specification on the included m8 bolt |
Answer: | It is the same size bit as the anchor. so if it's a 1/2 in anchor sleeve, then 1/2 inch bit. Note that if you are drilling into concrete that you should use a hammer drill and bit. I bought the Dewalt hammer drill bit set on Amazon. You can get a hammer drill on Amazon or I bought one for less than $40 at Harbor Freight. A regular drill would take forever to drill deep enough in the concrete. |
Question: | What size hole to drill |
Answer: | Currently we only sell these in boxes of 50. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How long an anchor would I need to mount a 2x4 to a concrete block wall |
Answer: | I purchased the I got the 3/8" x 5" bolt. The thread on this bolt runs for about 3-11/16 to 3-3/4 inches much as Nancy S. mentions. |
Question: | is that outer diameter of sleeve? If yes, and bolt is inside sleeve, then what's the diameter of the thread/bolt? Size of hole to drill |
Answer: | Theoretically, yes, this type of anchor can be used with concrete block. However this length is too long for the wall thickness of a typical concrete block. Coincidentally, I installed a similar, much shorter anchor into concrete block just yesterday. I used a wedge anchor about 3” long and it was almost too long. If you can get anchors that are 1-1/2” or 2”, they will work better. |
Question: | do they include nuts and washers |
Answer: | The “minimum embedment depth” (MED) is specified by the manufacturer, but common values are listed below based on the bolt diameter. This is the minimum depth however, and it is recommended that the hole should be drilled at least 1/2 inch deeper than the specified MED. Therefore for a 5/16 inch bolt the MED is 1-1/4 inches, so the hole depth should be 1-3/4 inches (or greater). Diameter. MED 1/4” 1-1/8” 5/16” 1-1/4” 3/8” 1-1/2” 1/2” 2-1/4” 5/8” 2-3/4” 3/4” 3-1/4” 7/8” 3-7/8” |
Question: | Would these be strong enough to mount a TV/bracket to a concrete wall |
Answer: | Unknown. Using the 1/4” version of these, I would estimate some bolts were separating at approximately 5-10lbs force, though not all were. No clue on 1/2”. |
