10 best drive anchors
Drive anchors are a type of fastener used in construction and industrial applications to secure objects to concrete, masonry, or other solid surfaces. These anchors provide a reliable and sturdy means of attachment, ensuring that structures or equipment remain securely in place.
Here are some key points about drive anchors:
Material Composition: Drive anchors are typically made from materials such as steel or stainless steel, providing strength and durability. The choice of material depends on the specific application and environmental conditions.
Design and Structure: Drive anchors are designed with a threaded or ribbed exterior to enhance their grip within the concrete or masonry. The end that is driven into the base material may have a pointed tip to facilitate easier insertion.
Installation Process: The installation of drive anchors involves driving the anchor into the pre-drilled hole in the base material. This can be done using a hammer or a specialized tool, depending on the anchor type. As the anchor is driven in, it expands within the hole, creating a tight and secure fit.
Applications: Drive anchors are commonly used in a variety of applications, including attaching structural elements, securing equipment, and mounting fixtures. They are frequently employed in construction projects, such as the installation of handrails, brackets, and other fixtures into concrete or masonry surfaces.
Types of Drive Anchors: There are different types of drive anchors available, each designed for specific applications. Some common types include wedge anchors, sleeve anchors, and hammer drive anchors. The choice of anchor type depends on factors such as load requirements and the base material.
Load Capacity: The load capacity of drive anchors varies based on factors like the anchor size, material, and installation method. Manufacturers provide guidelines for the maximum load that an anchor can support.
Considerations: It's essential to consider factors such as the depth and diameter of the drilled hole, the quality of the base material, and the required load capacity when selecting and installing drive anchors. Following manufacturer recommendations and guidelines is crucial for ensuring proper installation and performance.
In summary, drive anchors play a crucial role in providing secure fastening solutions in construction and industrial settings.Their design and installation make them effective in creating a stable connection between structures and various surfaces.

User questions & answers
Question: | What can you use to pound these in, when a hammer won’t fit in a certain smaller space |
Answer: | I suppose that would depend upon where you speared the fish, but I doubt it would work effectively as you would have to bend the loop much straighter to get it through any hole. I have kept 60# catfish on this stringer by poking it trough the chin and coming out the mouth. In the past I used to string it through the gill and out the mouth but I discovered this method too frequently injured or ripped out the gill causing premature death of the fish due to blood loss. |
Question: | Can it be use in PT wood |
Answer: | 5/16Very strudy |
Question: | Are they 3 inches overall length or is this a 3 inch fastener |
Answer: | Hello, The clip is 15.7 inches long according to the product dimensions. Please let us know if we can help any further. Trinitti HouseofScuba |
Question: | how much does the mushroom top stick up above the surface? We want to use this for Versetta Stone which requires .1 inch above the bracket or less |
Answer: | It should be plenty big enough for that. As for tying it to the boat, you should be able to fashion something to connect it easy enough. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How big of a difference is the performance with these vs the traingular winging anchors?\ |
Answer: | No special installation tools are needed. You drive it in the sheetrock with a hammer then tighten the screw with a screwdriver (or power driver) to set it. If you are using it in anything other than gypsum board you will have to pre drill a hole the size of the anchor body. |
Question: | Do I need the install tool? Or will a screwdriver work to fully anchor them |
Answer: | Typically left in place. Cover the holes with spackling after the screws are removed. |
Question: | If you need to remove the anchor down the road, how is it done |
Answer: | I suppose you can |
Question: | Can you install the bolt and screw then at a later remove the screw and use it in the same insert (bolt) again |
Answer: | Details in description. They’re many sizes. My tv. 50” VIZIO |
