Answer:	Use a 1/4 inch drill bit to drill a pilot hole then use this to enlarge hole to the desired diameter. That will prolong the life of this bit. This is more for thin metals 1/8" - 1/16" thickness. If your drilling a lot of holes in metal and you know the size diameter you need you should look into a carbide hole saw and some cutting oil like tap magic. It would depend on the thickness of the smokers aswell. Hope that helps. If you don't know the size hole you want this is good because you can keep making the hole a little bit bigger one step at time hence the name "step bit" good luck !!!

Question:	I need to widen a hole on a metal winch plate, will these work
Answer:	These are mainly designed for metal. They are very course / aggressive cutters. They would probably leave very rough marks in any wood. Might be hard to control how much wood your grinding away. Could also potentially burn the wood if your RPM’s are too high. I guess if your going to progressively sand the wood you would be OK to use these to remove large amounts of wood for initial shaping, if your careful and go slow.

Answer:	No labels on mine. But they ported cast iron heads plus cut all the spot welds on my mustang restoration and still killing it. Worth twice as much.

Answer:	Melissa the set comes with no info whatsoever so I don't know any max rpm rating. However I've given mine a real good workout grinding welds,plate steel,cast iron,sheetmetal etc for quite some time now using both pnuematic and electric high speed die grinders which typically max out around 20,000 to 25,000 rpm. I can honestly say I've been very well satisfied with my set.I also have the 1/8" shank set for my Dremel and they work great too.. Hope this helps!

Question:	Does it work on hard or soft wood
Answer:	Made in China like most everything else these days. You wouldn't be getting them for this cheap if they were made in the USA. They are pretty good quality however.

Answer:	It sure will work for it, just have a good firm hold on the grinder. The cutters can be a little grabby depending on the thickness of the metal.
Question:	I want to cut and widen a hole in a metal plate for a magnetic phone mounting. Will this work for that
Answer:	They cut great on aluminum, that is what i primarily got them for. However I have bent 3 of them on accident as I got them for my 56,000 RPM pencil grinder and I can only run them at low RPM. 3 times now i have went to twist the dial to turn down/off the grinder and not paying attention turned it up and they immediately spin out of proportion and the shank bends pretty much instantly. Just have to be very carefully how fast you turn them, I can barely turn mine on to where it starts to spin much more and they bend. Probably says rated for only certain RPM in the fine print. Hope this helps,

Answer:	it depends on the size of the arbor on the dremel. Most are 1/8”. The burrs have 1/4” shank.

Answer:	I think the speed rating is much lower. When used in my pencil die grinder at high speed these bits vibrate violently.first problem is the shanks are 3mm not 1/8 inch which makes the shank undersized creating a possible misalignment in the collet. The shanks are much too long making the problem worse.My solution is to shorten the shanks making the cutterhead closer to the collet, and slowing the die grinder to about 1/2 speed, this makes them run much smoother and quite effective. A great deal for the price.
