Simple, Fast Installation

Installing the window insulation is easy. You simply unfold the film and cut it to the width of the window, allowing an extra inch on all sides. Next, you firmly apply the mounting tape around the window frame and remove the paper liner. Then you apply the film to the tape, starting at the top of the window, and reposition and stretch the film to remove wrinkles. Finally, you use a blow dryer to remove any remaining wrinkles, then trim any excess film.

Made in the United States, and designed for indoor use only, this insulator kit can be used with aluminum, vinyl-clad, or painted or varnished wood molding, but it should not be applied to veneer paneling or Lauan mahogany molding. The film and tape should be removed from the window at the end of the season. The film measures 10 square yards, or 5.16 feet by 17.5 feet by 0.75 thousandths of an inch (H x W x D), and weighs 0.33 pounds.

Question:	I am from the South, so my big question is, does it insulates from heat so well as it does from cold
Answer:	Short answer: It does not insulate well from temperature exchange through your window, but it does prevent air exchange, so it can dramatically reduce your heating/cooling bill if you are constantly having to condition fresh air from outside.Long answer: I have used this in a warehouse office where we kept it up year-round (because the landlord was too cheap to replace 50+ year old windows). Just keep in mind; First, with less air exchange, make sure that your HVAC has a good filter system, and that you replace it regularly to prevent buildup of allergens/mold in the home. Second, if you live in a particularly humid area then this can result in water (and mold) buildup between the plastic and window during warm weather, which is bad (using the exterior version of this product may work better). Third, these are great to save a few $$ and keep the house more comfortable during extreme weather for a few months, but they are not a good long-term solution. The tape gives out, the plastic can yellow or haze over time, you lose the use of the window, it is easy to disturb and ruin... generally not a good long-term game plan. If you need a more permanent solution then consider using clear caulking to seal the seams/cracks in your window (assuming it is not against safety/fire code, remember you typically need 2 exit points and many rooms only have 1 door and 1 window), or else consider replacing the window.
Question:	How does this hold up compared to frost king
Answer:	This holds up much better then frost king... I have never had frost king last a whole season on my windows but the 3M lasts no matter how long the cold season has lasted. I will never go back to using Frost King again.
Question:	Has anyone had success applying this to a window without trim? Our 50s track house just has drywall-cased windows

Question:	Will this work for insulating from the heat of a hot climate too
Answer:	I would assume so, though we live in Maine near the coast where it can be in the teens and 20s sometimesduring the weather; I assume it would work since 3M is an excellent product - the hardware versionsdon't seem to work as well. You'll need the 3M tape for this as well.

Question:	Is this tape double sided
Answer:	Thank you for asking. The tape is double sided for use to mount the 3M Window Insulation Film.
Question:	How does it work? you use it on the edges
Answer:	The tape is sticky on both sides. You look at the window frame and decide where on the frame to place it. The idea being the 'window film' you purchased will adhere to the tape to keep any breezes out of the house. I usually choose the area where the frame edge is farther from the window. Place the tape and then stretch the film. Really easy after the first attempt!
Question:	Is it ok to apply tape on paint for windows without borders
Answer:	I have been applying it to varnished surface for about 7 years. It has on several occasions removed it but in small areas. I do recommend his product. The pros out weigh the cons. It will make a difference in the R factor of the windows.
Question:	How easy is it to remove the tape at the end of the cold season? Is it made to be removed? Thanks
Answer:	Provided the window surface is sound, it is very easy to remove. This is also the safest tape to use of any of the brands. I've tried several. I've even had this tape up on some windows for over two years and it still comes off easily. This is true for vinyl and stained wood trim. One note. It is strong tape and if you put in onto a painted surface (for example painted window trim) if the surfaces wasn't prepped correctly before first being painted, it may take the paint off. This is an issue with how the window was painted and not with the tape. Even if the paint wasn't done correctly you can still use this tape. When you remove the tape at the end of the season, heat it up with a hair dryer which loosens the bond. Then pull the tape off by pulling it at a shallow angle in the direction of the currently stuck down tape. This reduces the likelihood of the tape pulling up the paint. Since you don't know if the window was painted correctly, I'm always very careful taking this tape off on painted windows.

Answer:	Yes, everything needed comes with it.

Answer:	They worked perfectly on my Silverado 2008 6.5 bed 2500hd 6.6. With Curt should be the same with Reese. They should have a chart to tell you the dimensions if you scroll through to your Reese fifth wheel attachment. Most fifth wheel rails are made to the same industry standard dimensions. They aren't all though. If you measure 22 inches on center between the two rails and they look like the rails of the # RP30035 that you referenced they would be the industry standard. These rails can fit hitch brands Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese, Valley and Husky.

Answer:	For my 05 chevy 2500hd i used "Curt Manufacturing 16204 5Th Wheel Rails Only (Carbide Black)" I have had them on for 4 years with only minor chips in the paint even hauling loads of busted up concrete.

Answer:	I installed on 09 Silverado 3500HD dually. Had to drill 2 holes in the truck frame, but it worked great. Easier if you have help. 1-man install can be done, but added hands helps. Use PN16104/16204 rails.

Answer:	They bolt to the frame rails then have tabs on them that line up with your universal rails from the bottom side. You shouldn't have to buy any other rails.

Answer:	This is a universal kit you need to drill holes in frame to install it. I used it on a 2011 f150 with 6.5 box length work good. What kind of trailer are you pulling with a 5.5 length box if you turn to sharp the trailer can hit the back of your cab.

Answer:	It's not grease. It's an electronic-grade silicone sealant that begins to cure when you open the package, which provides a measure of environmental protection to the connection once crimped on. (Need to keep the package CLOSED when not in use.) Silicone is not conductive. NOTE: this connector is for splicing a wire to an existing wire run - one side receives the existing wire through it, and the other side is for receiving the end of another wire, resulting in a sort of "Y" connection. Essentially for tapping into an existing electrical node.
Question:	Can i tap 10 of these into a 18g wire running from a battery (rv lighting)? basically will multiple splices into a wire increase risk of damaging it
Answer:	I suppose there is always risk of damaging the lead wire. However, these taps were designed to work in the way you are intending. Per the description, they are rated for 18, 16, and 14g wire, so they should serve your purpose properly. I have 8 lights spliced onto a single 14g lead wire and it worked well with no wire damage.

Question:	what's the difference between the sanding and fiberglass style and the lawn and garden style
Answer:	They do fit this mask. I would recommend, however, the normal p100 filter for particulates and the 6001 organic vapor cartridge for fumes. I can literally stain, strip, paint, or use any other number of vapor causing liquids and not smell them AT ALL. Additionally the p100 particulate filter does an amazing job of blocking dust and particulates. Get the specific filter for the job. I wouldn't want a multi purpose filter. Much like the old Jeeepster - it was supposed to be a Jeep and a truck, instead it wasn't really very good at being either of them.
Question:	Does it contain laytex material
Answer:	All bayonet-mount 3M filter housing for 6000 and gas va7000 series respirators will fit this faveplate. The tyoe of catrridge/pre-ifilter, inside that housing, depends on what your exposure is to anything other than particulates and particulate size. Asbestos/lead/mold? Volatile organic compounds? Nuisance-level acid gas vapor? Life-threatening acid gas vapor? Mercury vapor? Formaldehyde? Etc. 3M has a variety of NIOSH rated options to choose from. Woodwork, absent all solvents and treatments, could get by on particulate filtration alone.

Answer:	I spoke with 3M tech support, and the guy explained it like this: "70% of users will fit the size medium. 23% will fit size large. The rest will fall in the small category." I assume that the reason 93% fit medium to large because men typically are the users. I am 6', 225lb guy that wears a medium. My 5'4" wife uses small. I can almost wear a large, but larges are set for people with long faces.

I do know that the 2015 has to have special mounting brackets for the rails that are a direct bolt on to the frame. The Curt 16427 Fifth Wheel Bracket Kit will fit the 2015 2500 Hope this helps
