Answer:	From 210 to 225 is what I set it at on my printer. You will just have to play around with temps as every filament will react different even the same brand and color. Just be sure when you are done keep the PLA in a dry bag with the desiccant it came with.

Answer:	Bear with me while I do some math on this one. From www.matweb.com, the average material density for PLA is 0.0473 pounds per cubic inch. So, a spool weighing 2.2 pounds should have 46.511 cubic inches in it. With a filament diameter of 1.75mm (0.06889 inches), the cross sectional area should be 0.003727 square inches. 46.511 cubic inches divided by 0.003727 square inches = 12,479.6 inches in length, or 316.9 meters. Does that seem about right?

Answer:	I doubt its from the filament: At least not if its fresh from the box. I've used this on 3 brands of printers from .4 nozzle to 1mm nozzle on basic settings ranging from 190-210°c without issues. If you hear sizzling or popping from the nozzle then the filament has absorbed humidity from the air and needs to be dried out-Just like all PLA/PETG/ABS. More likely a problem with the heatbreak not cooling or not a good seal between heatbreak and nozzle.

Seriously, they could have sold easily 6-12kg in rolls to me by now - and more in the future - if they'd simply let me pick the color I want rather than force 2 more down my throat that I don't need. Question:	I've attempted to print with this several times. Each time it clogs in the nozzle it appears to become very brittle when it stays in the nozzle
Answer:	I've noticed this color is more brittle than any color I've used from them so far which includes blue, red, green, transparent blue and transparent red. It often snaps when I remove the spool and try to wind the end through one of the small holes on the spool. Haven't had a jam yet though. Printing at 212-215 since its abs.

Answer:	The PLA is not certified as food safe. Regardless of the type of filament that is used, 3D printing that uses FDM technology generally is not safe for printing food safe parts. There are many reasons for this. One main factor is because bacteria can build up in the small gaps that is created in between the layers that are printed. Another reason is because typical stock nozzles are made out of brass, which contains lead.

PLA Filament

Polylactic Acid (PLA) is created from processing a number of plant products, it's considered the greener plastic compared to ABS. Since PLA is derived from sugars, it gives off a semi-sweet smell when heated during printing. This is generally preferred over ABS filament, which gives off the smell of hot plastic.

PLA is stronger and more rigid, which generally produces sharper details and corners compared to ABS. The 3D printed parts will feel more glossy. The prints can also be sanded and machined. PLA has much less warping versus ABS, and thus a heated build platform is not required. Because a heated bed plate is not required, many users often prefer to print using blue painters tape instead of kapton tape. PLA can also be printed at higher throughput speeds.

Please store PLA plastic filament in a dry cool space. Absorption of moisture can cause bubbles to form because PLA reacts with water at high temperatures.

Question:	Will sunlu silk filament prints fade or crack in the sun? if so, what type of uv protectant can be applied
Answer:	That is common to all PLA filament, haven’t tested for very long but I have an idol in my car made with this filament, the car remains in sun for almost 8-9 hours a day. I have not seen fading or cracking, but it has not seen the summer.

Answer:	It's PLA. You don't need to heat your bed at all, and you should have the tip set to 200 degrees celcius, not 215. At higher temperatures, the plastic is far too malleable and will cause stringing. 205 is the max you would want it at. 200 is the minimum. Ideally run it at 30 millimeters a second print speed for 0.2 layer heights. 0.4 layer heights are ok to run at 60

Answer:	I don't know the length off hand, but there is a Pursa calculator that can help you with determining the real cost of the filament. See the Pursa web site: http://www.prusaprinters.org/calculator/ It uses the the weight or spool length, then calculates the cubic centimeters, along with the cost per cubic centimeter of that product.

Answer:	This filament is the second brand I tried on my Ender 3 and I have not switched back or tried any other brands. Works really well and is very strong pla. It runs a little better with the extruded set to 210c. I have not experienced a clog yet with this brand.

Question:	How much filament comes on a spool? It shows the item weight or spool weight as 1kg. Does not specify how much filament weight is a part of that
Answer:	The weight of the filament should be 1kg. The spool should be extra. If not it should not weigh more than 40 gram.
Question:	The 11 color pack says it is 10kg, 10*1kg spools, Is it 10 or 11 kg
Answer:	Generally 10 kg. They add the +1 in case more of it gets past quality control.
Question:	I have never used carbon fiber filament. is this as easy to print with as regular pla
Answer:	It does have fibers in it not just "colored". It will wear brass tips out fast. Plan to change it after 30 to 40 hrs of printing. I've used 3 rolls of it so far and love the color and the way it prints. Does take some tuning on the settings. And I've found 0.6 nozzle doesn't plug like a 0.4 does with carbon fiber.
Question:	Does the carbon fiber filament include carbon fibers ... or is it carbon fiber colored? Do you have impact and strength data
Answer:	I'm pretty sure this is just carbon fiber "colored" filament. That is why the seller won't answer this question. To print with real carbon fiber, even if its just added to PLA is not easy and requires special settings and hardware.

FAQs: Why Can't Print Silk Filaments as Easy as Normal PLA?

1. Check Temperature Setting Before Printing, Our Silk PLA Filaments Suggest Printing Temperature 195-210℃;

2. Check if 3D Printer Nozzle Has Been Used for a Long Time, It's Recommended to Replace a New Nozzle, which Diameter Recommended 0.4mm+;

3. If First Layer has Poor Adhesion, It's Recommended to Re-level Print Substrate to Reduce Distance Between Nozzle and Surface Plate;

Good to Know:

1)Be sure to fix the filament end after each time use, such as insert the free end of the filament into the hole to avoid the filament being tangled for next time use.

2)In order to extend the life of your filament, please store it in a dry, sealed bag or box

I'm looking for a substitute, is this brand ok

Answer:

I have used several brands before this one. And I don't think I will ever use another Filament brand again! I'm using a CR-10 3d printer , and this filament just comes out so smooth. No bubbles ("zits"), hardly any layer separation (it's cold now, and it still sticks well!) Better than Hatchbox and Robo3D. And the price!? Who can complain about that!? Amazing quality and absolutely affordable! I've already gone through 2 rolls with perfect prints and I've just ordered more!
