Question:	what grit is this
Answer:	it will likely remove the calcium and leave a red tinge to the tile. I bought to touch up excess dried mortar on tile and stone and it turned it pink from the bristles. It may work for other applications but on non-hard-smooth surfaces it will leave discoloration and residue. Dico brushes either the orange or blue would be better for this application.

Answer:	Yes, you can if the mandril thread pitch matches the thread pitch on the cup brush. Don't overwork your grinder, watch how hot you're getting it and stop when needed.

Answer:	Cannot be attached to a drill. Has to be a grinder with 5/8 attachment capabilities. I may not be too effective on stripping paint on big areas. On rough materials like brick it will wear down quickly.

Question:	Will this remove paint from molding soft wood - pine with marking the wood
Answer:	no...these bristles are very hard. If this tells you anything, I used this to remove excess grout, that had been dry for at least a week, from patio tile. To remove paint from wood I would use a stripping gel like "CitriStrip". Brush it on, let it sit like 20min then simply wipe away old paint or stains. Like $12 a quart from HD or Lowes.

Answer:	we used it - wore one out and bought another - on a thirty year old 9 inch 15 amp angle grinder which was definitely not variable speed in truth it is easier to control than a twisted wire brush

Answer:	The shaft or core of the brush is the metal portion that sticks out from the brush. This is the portion of the brush that is inserted into a drill. The diameter of the shaft has to be small enough so that it can be inserted into the drill chuck or head. For example, if your drill has a 1/4" chuck and the brush has a 3/8" shaft diameter, it would not fit onto the drill. Hope that that helps.

Answer:	Excellent question. Yes this Makita 2 Inch Nylon Cup Brush will work to remove old flaky paint from crown molding. It is important to note that the Nylon brushes minimize the amount of damage on wood, but it is always a good idea to use sanding paper to leave a nice smooth finish before repainting. Also note that these cup brushes are for small working areas and would not be ideal if you have long surface area of crown molding to complete.
