Answer:	There is a switch, but this is misleading because the only difference btwn the hardwood and carpet setting is how fast the beater bar spins. SHark does not fully, accurately describe this in their product description but the beater bar cannot be turned off or raised to keep it from scratching hardwoods. Very frustrating, actually.
Question:	What filters does the zu561 take

Question:	This model gets good reviews for keeping pet hair out of the beater brush. How about long human hair
Answer:	Yes, Yes, Yes. Long haired wife, long haired dog, long haired cat. Vacuumed a rug that had more hair than fiber. Brush was clean as a whistle. I was hoping new hair-clipping rotor would work half-way, it worked the whole way. My old Shark roller would have been a solid hairball after the two rugs i vacuumed the other day. The new guy was clean... and so were the rugs.

Question:	Which Oreck is best for residential use
Answer:	The only major difference between this and some of the lower end residential XL models of years past is the "Commercial" marking, the cord color, and the lack of a bag dock which can be retrofitted. It is also highly likely this can be upgraded to a two speed model by simply installing an Oreck 2 speed switch.
Question:	My daughters and i all have long hair that we have to cut out of the vacuum brush. How is this vacuum with hair
Answer:	Any vacuum with a rotating brush is going to get tangled with long hairs but this is actually a good thing. All upright vacuums have the fan that pulls the dirt in, in front of the bag so all the hair and stuff has to go past the spinning fan first. You can hear this whenever something hard is picked up and can be heard hitting the fan blades, not good. Any long hairs or string that gets past the rotating brush, is going to get tangled on the fan which you cannot get to, to cut them out. This will cause the fan to run hot and shorten the life of the machine.
Question:	I am about to buy the XL2100RHS but do not want to use the thin, cheap commercial bags. Is there a HEPA bag that fits this product

Answer:	Just jumping in here. We've had a few dysons (some second hand, others new) and I've always found them to be incredibly underwhelming. "But they last forever!" Maybe, but they don't do a better job than I've seen $150 cleaners do that still last for many years. The dysons were also unusable for stair cleaning and on the model I had, the brush would turn off when it was in full upright mode! Terrible design. I'm also pretty convinced they're not sealed that well for allergens. Their bagless design is also terrible. We're going to give this Oreck a try and see how it goes...

Answer:	I had a problem with my plush carpeting. The suction was so much it was hard to push. WOW, there is an adjustable collar to reduce the suction. Works great.

Answer:	ANY vacuum with a beater brush can be adjusted to be easier to use on the carpet. Start with the cleaner on the carpet you want to clean, with the head raised as high as it will go. Turn it on and start to lower the brush head slowly, one click at a time. You will hear the tone change when the brush makes contact with the carpet. Drop it one or two more clicks until you hear the tone of the brush head get noticeably lower as it pushes hard against the carpet. Then take it back up one click. That will be an optimal height for cleaning and the brush head will actually help propel the unit as you clean; more of an assist vs. self propelled.
Question:	We have only had our vacuum for a few weeks, and it smells like dog when we turn it on. What can we do
Answer:	No No No Lol, do not use soap it will ruin the filter faster, it gets stuck in the micro fibers, I repair vacuums and Steamers and hear and see this all the time, wash filters w water only let dry 24 to 48 hrs, drying in sun is fine, completely dry before putting back in you can use a scent tabs on the side top of the filter, also you can spray Lysol or disinfectant on the carpet {test small area to make sure no stain} and run the vacuum over it, and of course new filters, recommended every 2 years, if you have pets or kids or both every year, if cleaning service more often

Answer:	Hi Madeline. I did a brief review of the nv356e at the Amazon site, compared to the 360 (which I own). The 356e claims to have a 9.5" vacuum path, while the 360 is 11". The 360 is 15 or so lbs, the 356e is 14 lbs. It appears the technology and mechanical functioning of the models are nearly identical. Attachments are also similar. I own two of the 360s, which I bought from Target. I'm very happy with them.

Answer:	This vacuum works on all types of flooring: laminate, tile, wood, marble, travertine, etc. I have never had a problem with it scratching.

Answer:	I ordered the $24.99 blue version. I honestly can not say why there's a price difference between the 3 models offered as they, to me, appear to be the same in all respects but color when I study their photos (noticing that the listed attributes do not change at all between models). I can say that I am so very pleased with my $24.99 / blue vacuum because it does exactly what I bought it for (tiled floors &low pile throw rugs) and taking advantage of the hand-held changeability is huge (***** great at sussing "stuff" out of cracks between stove & cabinetry, and snatching creepy-crawlies off the ceiling)
Question:	How a about pet hair
Answer:	It looks like it should stand up to a number of gentle light cleaning/brush-offs and several washes, but it would be convenient to have at least one spare, so I can use that while the other one is drying. Be careful, there are a number of Bissell featherweight vacuums, and they take different filters. Bissell part number 1611508 is hard to find, but with the part number in hand, I found my local vacuum repair shop was able to order it ($4.99, no s&h), and I was able to order it from Bissell.com ($3.75 +$5.95 s&h) and partswarehouse.com ($4.99 & $5.98 S&h)

Question:	does the unit have power to move the unit
Answer:	I hate swiffer. For that type of cleaning I use libman and the pads are washable and reusable so as not to increase unnecessary waste. I bought two extra pads for mine so I always have one or two clean. I have an older model dyson cordless and I love it. I'm sitting here drooling over this one and cant wait to be able to buy it.
Question:	How much does it weigh
Answer:	10-60 minutes depending on power setting. I find medium gets me 30-40 minutes and is more than adequate for general cleaning. Max suction will suck a golf ball through a garden hose and not necessary all the time. I’ve used max suction a handful of times yet never with a powered head attached as it’s pointless and will actually make the head stick to area rugs it’s so strong.
Question:	my hoover paws vacuum just died after 4 years. Looks just like this one minus clear view on front brush. Will this work for pet hair
Answer:	The Motorhead is the entry level. You only get a crevice tool and another small crevice attachment with a brush. Also please note that even though the motor design is new, you also get a 40% smaller dust bin size on the Motor Head. The Absolute gives you everything. 40% bigger dust bin, crevice tool, another stubby crevice tool with a brush, a blind/curtain brush, the motorized small power head for cars/couches etc, a head "meant" for hard surfaces such as tile, wood, etc which is a soft fiber velvet-like brush and a head meant for carpet which is your traditional stiffer brush. My opinion is that the Animal is the best value as the only thing you miss is the brush head meant for hard surfaces which everyone has done fine with for all time beforehand and you then save $100 dollars versus the Absolute.
