Answer:	This is THE best for dog hair. I have 2 Mastiffs and a bulldog. Total poundage of shedding dogs in the house is over 440 lbs (not a typo) and believe you me, these guys can shed some hair!! Plus, I live in the country with dirt roads, so dust, grit and dog hair is a daily occurrence. I also have parrots, so vacuum cleaners come to my house to die. This light weight little guy will pick up feathers, seed hulls, bird pellets with ease. On dog hair, it pulls up the dog hair tumbleweeds inches away. It's light enough not to bother my arthritic hands, and its EASY to clean! I suggest getting a second filter so one can be ready to go in a flash. Answer:	I had the 50010 for 8 years, and just purchased the 50020 today after the other person living in my house dropped and broke it. The differences I see are: The 020 has way better smooth rolling wheels, my 010 was noisy on hardwoods, this one feels padded and it quiet and rolls much better. The 020 also has covered rear wheels where as 010 are exposed. The 020 has a black color scheme the 010 is silver. The 020 has a slightly larger canister/dust bin, but I think this might be in width as I believe the old canister fits. Canister on 020 is smoke colored, on 010 it is clear. You can see content easilt on both. Interior canister plastic dust filter on 020 is clear, on 010 its red they apear the same dimensions and are interchangeable, however the fit of this in connection is tighter on the 020. My 010 was old and mucky, but I believe the 020 has better picking up off the side like when I clean at a floorboard. I also feel relatively confident that it possibly has a slightly better battery life, although both use same battery. Both use same filter and filter holder, same power switch scheme, same method of attaching / detaching head, assembly (one screw to attach handle to body), and both have a visible battery meter in the same location. The 020 of course is the updated version. My local box store only had this one in stock.

Answer:	I've had all sorts of vacuums, including real Electrolux vacs back when they weren't assimilated, and this is an excellent vacuum for the money. It excels at hard floors, although the head that comes with it is a tad narrow and noisy. Here's what you want in a vac - suction. Lightweight. Reliability. Ease of use. Not just inexpensive to buy, but inexpensive to keep running. People shouldn't pick on the little things - if you don't love the hard floor head, you can buy a 3rd party one to your liking (I did) very inexpensively. You want a HEPA filter? Around $10 to add one. Strap? Sure - the part number to order one is in the manual it comes with.This is a great BASIC vacuum, very simple, which translates into light weight, and (one would assume) with less things to break - more reliable. I'm buying another for my daughter right now - I've had my for about 2 years and with a big black dog that sheds like crazy, a crazy cat that sheds like the dog, and most of my house being white tile, I use this vac a lot. No babying. It gets dropped (by accident), the cord gets yanked, hoses stepped on, etc - nothing has broken, it has never done anything strange, it just keeps plugging away - change the bag and filter regularly and it never misses a beat.
