Where's the HEPA filter? How to maintain the cleaning performances?

It's right under the exhaust grill just above the floor nozzle.

We suggest you regularly wash the HEPA filter and replace every year. Make sure to clean the dust cup filters regularly.

How to maintain the brushroll?

If the brushroll light turns red, this indicates the brushroll is clogged and cannot spin. Brushroll will automatically shut off. You can remove the brushroll by turning off the vacuum, flipping over the floor nozzle and using a coin to turn the locks to open the bottom panel and lift out the brush roll.

Question:	Which Oreck is best for residential use
Answer:	The only major difference between this and some of the lower end residential XL models of years past is the "Commercial" marking, the cord color, and the lack of a bag dock which can be retrofitted. It is also highly likely this can be upgraded to a two speed model by simply installing an Oreck 2 speed switch.
Question:	My daughters and i all have long hair that we have to cut out of the vacuum brush. How is this vacuum with hair
Answer:	Any vacuum with a rotating brush is going to get tangled with long hairs but this is actually a good thing. All upright vacuums have the fan that pulls the dirt in, in front of the bag so all the hair and stuff has to go past the spinning fan first. You can hear this whenever something hard is picked up and can be heard hitting the fan blades, not good. Any long hairs or string that gets past the rotating brush, is going to get tangled on the fan which you cannot get to, to cut them out. This will cause the fan to run hot and shorten the life of the machine.
Question:	I am about to buy the XL2100RHS but do not want to use the thin, cheap commercial bags. Is there a HEPA bag that fits this product

Question:	Anyone compared this machine to a Dyson? I just bought a Dyson C33 which I really like, but I am wondering if I am missing out
Answer:	Just jumping in here. We've had a few dysons (some second hand, others new) and I've always found them to be incredibly underwhelming. "But they last forever!" Maybe, but they don't do a better job than I've seen $150 cleaners do that still last for many years. The dysons were also unusable for stair cleaning and on the model I had, the brush would turn off when it was in full upright mode! Terrible design. I'm also pretty convinced they're not sealed that well for allergens. Their bagless design is also terrible. We're going to give this Oreck a try and see how it goes...

Answer:	Your 1 1/4" carpet nozzle should fit the Mighty Mite wand but not the hose. The Mighty Mite hose is 1 1/16".
Question:	Wow! I see most people like this vacuum, but ones who hate it, really hate it. I'm still on the fence. Is it worth the bother? Price is right
Answer:	I've had all sorts of vacuums, including real Electrolux vacs back when they weren't assimilated, and this is an excellent vacuum for the money. It excels at hard floors, although the head that comes with it is a tad narrow and noisy. Here's what you want in a vac - suction. Lightweight. Reliability. Ease of use. Not just inexpensive to buy, but inexpensive to keep running. People shouldn't pick on the little things - if you don't love the hard floor head, you can buy a 3rd party one to your liking (I did) very inexpensively. You want a HEPA filter? Around $10 to add one. Strap? Sure - the part number to order one is in the manual it comes with.This is a great BASIC vacuum, very simple, which translates into light weight, and (one would assume) with less things to break - more reliable. I'm buying another for my daughter right now - I've had my for about 2 years and with a big black dog that sheds like crazy, a crazy cat that sheds like the dog, and most of my house being white tile, I use this vac a lot. No babying. It gets dropped (by accident), the cord gets yanked, hoses stepped on, etc - nothing has broken, it has never done anything strange, it just keeps plugging away - change the bag and filter regularly and it never misses a beat.
