Don't forget that the odor control only works to neutralize odors produced by the vacuum--it won't last after you shut off the vacuum. Can't speak to how well they work. Answer:	I think it's the best vacuum for all floor types as well as all types of rugs. I have not had any issues with any of my flooring in fact I'm pretty sure my carpets are cleaner since I started using my Miele. The best thing is that it will automatically turn off the roller brush on it's own when I'm moving from room to room and you have 5 levels to choose from level 1 being hardwood flooring and as high as level 5 for deep pile carpeting. The suction is outstanding and I love that when I change the bag it's completely sealed so nothing in the bag comes out. I highly recommend this specific Miele Vacuum.
