To attach the tools to the end of the handle, press “Handle Release” located on the front of the vacuum handle. Then push the tool onto the handle. | Answer: | I have hardwood, area rugs, and regular carpeted rooms. This works equally well across all surfaces as long as you keep the filter cleaned. This is a good daily, preventative use vacuum but for a very deep restorative clean you’ll want more power. |

| Answer: | I don't know how you measure "lasrt long". The battery that comes with the Hoover is for light use and does run out of power in 20 minutes or so. I bought the higher power battery and that is more than sufficient for my 1100 ft. apartment that includes carpets and hardwood floors as well as some corner work with the accessory kit. |
