| Answer: | I washed mine in a front load washer, gentle cycle, and they came out pretty much ruined, for my purposes, anyway. Did not hold shape, lost the firmness I require, were lumpy, no matter how much “fluffing” I tried. Those are now cat pillows. I do love these pillows however, so I purchased a new set and used a hypoallergenic, anti-dust mite/bedbug, zippered pillow protector, since day one. I change/wash the protector with each pillowcase change. I also aggressively fluff the pillow every night, to help it keep its shape. With 5 vertebrae in my neck messed up in all sorts of ways, and being a side sleeper, I must have adequate support from my pillow. These are the best I’ve found so far. Even with doing all of the above, I have to replace them every 2 - 3 years, due to my neck problems. I’m pretty sure that someone without a completely messed up neck would get much more use out of them. Despite the claim on the packaging, I don’t recommend washing them. |

It will not go completely flat, but it will go flat-ish in the middle (or wherever you tend to keep your head on the pillow). I still like it enough, however, to simply replace it every few months |
