Answer:	The widest part of wooden part is arms, slightly under 62 inches. There is an eye bolt on each side for chain that adds an inch to each side so 64 inches overall.

Answer:	my swing was made of cedar ,not treated lumber. I stained mine and then put a heavy coat of poly on it.

Answer:	Works great on regular carpet and bare floors, but I have no idea how it would work on shaggy carpet. Best to check with the manufacturer.

Question:	Does it work on wood and vinyl floors or carpet only
Answer:	No. I have 2 long haired Maine Coons and a Norwegian Forest cats. If I could find a buyer for all this cat fluff I could sell it. This appliance, if used on hard surface, might pick up pet hair but does not work on carpet. Sorry, I feel your pain. I've tried everything.

Answer:	Well, our experience has been that it can pick-up any of the usual outdoor debris which gets tracked-into the house, whether on Human or Dog feet....and this has been true whether it be carpet or hard-surface flooring. We don't encounter Straw around here, so I can't know if it would pick THAT up as well. To my mind, Straw-debris pieces would be pretty big (like the size of a drinking straw?). I don't think this sweeper could handle anything so large as that. Small pieces of Straw shouldn't be any problem for it though.
