Answer:	The inner flap does not open but the weight of the diaper allows you to not have to use your hand to open it, the diaper just falls right in.....unless it's super light!
Question:	Are you happy with the size, or wish you had gone with the Plus (bigger size
Answer:	It depends on what you’re using it for. I just received mine. The trap door is approx. 3 1/2 x 5 inches, and the bag area is approx. 10 x 12. I ordered this for adult diapers. I think it will be difficult for my arthritic grandmother to fold the diaper small enough to fit through the trap door, and it appears the bag area will only hold 3-4 medium sized adult diapers. I will update this answer after we’ve tried it.
Question:	Is it exclusively for disposable diapers or does it work cloth diapers work too
Answer:	You probably could use it for cloth diapers but it would depend on how large your diapers are as the opening on top is quite small. If your diapers were larger, I also imagine that the bag would fill up quite quickly as the bag inside isn't too large. We use a combo of cloth diapers and disposables and use the Diaper Dekor for disposing of used wipes/disposable diapers and then use another container for the cloth diapers.

Answer:	I used 13-gallon trash bags. They fit well. There is some overhang when the bag is empty, but as you add diapers, the weight pulls at the slack. I wouldn't use anything less than 13-gallon capacity.

Answer:	I use the Planetwise bag liner. I just throw it in the wash with the diapers.
Question:	This does not seem like it would hold odor in well? It is smelly when you slide open the lid
Answer:	It is super smelly!!! We have only had it for a couple of weeks and I thought I just have something wrong - a lid ajar, the slider slightly open... But no, it really just stinks and does not contain it! We are returning.

Answer:	Mother of 3 here. Unfortunately, toddler poo can and will permeate ANY substance or surface. The military should do experiments with it. Anyway, as soon as you accept your diaper pail is an ultimately disposable item, the second part of your life can begin. To extend the life of your can, change the bag often. Lysol is good too, but make sure can is completely dry before putting bag back in. Toddler poo microbes like moisture, even if it’s Lysol moisture (in my personal experience). Again, lots of untapped chemical warfare potential here.

Answer:	It is normal for the odor to escape when the lid/clamp is open while inserting a new diaper. If the unit is not containing the odor while the lid/clamps are closed please give us a call at 800-222-0453.

Answer:	I use this for the liners and wipes I use with the cloth diapers, but not the diapers themselves. You would be better served to use a wet bag that you can wash along with the diapers. Plus a good quality wet bag keeps the smell under control!

I will say that now that we have been using this for just over 2 years, it has been great, but if we wait longer than every other day to do diaper laundry now that our son has more inserts in his diapers, the lid does not close all the way - it's not a big deal to us, because we keep it next to the washing machine in the laundry closet, and we do diaper laundry at least every third day, and usually every other day. Just wanted to let you know. Question:	Do you think this pail would work for scoopable cat litter
Answer:	I scoop the clumped cat litter into a small plastic bag, tie it shut, then drop it into this can (which I line with a kitchen trash bag). Only have to pull put the big bag once or twice a week for my 3 cats. No odor problem for 4-5 days even in hot weather.

Question:	Reviews of a different model mentions the "squish effect" when depositing the diaper in the narrow opening of the diaper pail. Is this an issue
Answer:	Old question but answering for anyone curious: yes, you have to push soiled diapers through the narrow opening. However, this hasn't caused us to get anything gross on our fingers or caused a struggle. My kid is very big for her age and wears size 7 Pampers. I take off dirty diapers and tightly wrap the sides around the diaper to make it very compact. The only time we have an issue is with her AM diaper that she wore to bed because it's fully saturated with pee, so it can be weird getting through the hole. Sometimes I'll let toss that one into the kitchen trash because I empty the kitchen trash daily so one pee diaper isn't going to cause a stench.

Answer:	It's plastic. The 'metallic' parts are silver plastic. It's super easy to clean.

Answer:	TL;DR: Yes, it's great for this purpose. Love it. Except NOT DOG PROOF. I bought this trash can exactly for this reason. It is perfect for this use. I keep it outside in the backyard, but somewhat sheltered from the sun and rain. It is able to fit plastic grocery bags, which are perfect to collect the poop and then toss the whole thing in the larger garbage can when it's full. The foot pedal makes the poop-picking-up process easy, like when you have a large shovel-full (gross) and you don't have an extra hand to open the lid. The can feels sturdy, like it will last. Sure, it isn't like the heavy duty trash cans that are provided by the trash service, but good enough for general home use. The lid definitely keeps the smell INSIDE THE CAN, which is soooo important. Man, when that lid is opened, it is like death... ugh. Luckily the lid drops quickly once you release the foot pedal. The lid is not heavy at all, but it is heavy enough to close quickly and completely without needing to touch it or close it harder. Some other trash cans I've dealt with in the past have really flimsy-closing lids, and you have to press them again to close them all the way, and those other ones definitely don't keep smells inside; that is NOT the case with this trash can. One thing worth mentioning; This can is NOT DOG PROOF. If you know that your dog is one that likes to mess with things, this can would NOT keep them out. The lid IS ABLE TO OPEN WITHOUT PRESSING THE FOOT PEDAL. A dog could likely get his nose on the lid and open it. Or could tip it over and the contents (gross) would spill all over. My dog doesn't mess with things (so glad), so this is not a factor for me. I will definitely be buying more of this trash can in the future. If I ever have to replace my backyard one, and more for the bathrooms around my house.

Answer:	Yes, You can use a 13 gallon trash bag. They'll fold easily where the dekor liner replacements go and are far cheaper. The liner ours came with lasted a little over 6 weeks emptying a full load about every 4-5 days sometimes sooner. Which would have been about 12-13 trash bags. The $15 2 pack replacements would last a little over 3 months with about 25 replacements I'd guess. Right now you can get 110 glad odorshield trash bags on amazon for about $13 which would last about a year.
Question:	I have one already and LOVED it until recently. It's like the plastic is literally stained with a smell. How do I get the smell out
Answer:	I've found the only thing that gets rid of that rank smell of urine odor in plastic is baking soda. I use about 2/3 cup per gallon of hot water, then let it sit 2-3 hours or overnight.

Answer:	works for cloth diapers with a planet wise pail liner. there is a spot for the liner to hang inside the pail. the pail gets full after about 15 pocket diapers(i use bumgenius 4.0's). but its no problem i usually keep my cloth diaper loads to about 12-15 diapers anyways.

Answer:	If the bag is full and the trash inside is compact, normal kitchen bags will rip on the way out. This is my one complaint with this unit. I switched to using trash compactor bags with it and have not had any rips since.

Answer:	Yes I bought two of the AC adapters and have them plugged in. They work great and no batteries to change. There is an add-on for these at about $19 each.. keep shopping/looking, I found the same ones for about $6 each and they work perfect. They simply plug in the back. I have 2 cans side by side- 1 is for recycling... and a small multi strip behind the cans to plug in. Work great!
Question:	can you lock the lid when you leave the house because of a curious dog
Answer:	Yes. There is a small lever that you can swing over the front lip of the door so it mechanically locks it closed. It does MOT however stop the motor from trying to open it if the sensor sees movement on front of it. There seems to be a clutch inside though because it didn't grind gears or break anything when I did this to test it. However... I imagine after a while of this it would damage it. However there IS a power switch on the back to make the motor NOT try to open it. If this is off you can still lift the lid though unless you use the first mentioned lever on the front (mechanical lock)

Answer:	I bought this in 2007, and left a review sometime in '08-'09 about how much I loved this trash can. We are still using the same one and have only had to change the batteries a few times (in 12 years). The only reason I'm buying a new one today is because my kids were messing around the other day and slammed the lid shut, breaking the gear. I just hope my new one can last as long as my first one did (who knows how much longer it could have gone if my kids hadn't busted it)!

Answer:	I had the same problem! Love the stool for my photography purposes, but was completely baffled as to how to get the darn thing to close! I thought you would just pull the legs apart and push together to open/close. However, that's not the case. To close, the top actually folds down to the legs. To close: pull the pin out to release the legs and...holding onto the top, push down on just the top.
Question:	Do all models of this brand require custom trash bags
Answer:	I have had at least 6 of these stools over the past 15 years or so. I use them as a seat when playing keyboards at gigs and jams. I have to replace them because of being lost or drifting away, plus I lost two in a house fire. In all that time, only one of them collapsed, when a friend was playing my keyboards at a jam. He was having such a good time he didn't even notice, which I frankly don't understand but he was surprised when I pointed it out. I think he may have been a bit rowdy. ;-) I weigh 180 lbs, and both sit and lean on the stool as I play, standing for some parts, sitting for others, shifting around quite a bit, and also lifting it and sliding to play higher or lower parts on the keyboard. I'm not gentle, and don't have to be. But I would be gentle if I weighed 300 lbs (the rated amount.)
