Question:	Does the bag rip when you take it out because the can is bigger then the opening
Answer:	If the bag is full and the trash inside is compact, normal kitchen bags will rip on the way out. This is my one complaint with this unit. I switched to using trash compactor bags with it and have not had any rips since.
Question:	Has any body use the electrical adaptor instead of the batteries?, and how it work out
Answer:	Yes I bought two of the AC adapters and have them plugged in. They work great and no batteries to change. There is an add-on for these at about $19 each.. keep shopping/looking, I found the same ones for about $6 each and they work perfect. They simply plug in the back. I have 2 cans side by side- 1 is for recycling... and a small multi strip behind the cans to plug in. Work great!
Question:	can you lock the lid when you leave the house because of a curious dog
Answer:	Yes. There is a small lever that you can swing over the front lip of the door so it mechanically locks it closed. It does MOT however stop the motor from trying to open it if the sensor sees movement on front of it. There seems to be a clutch inside though because it didn't grind gears or break anything when I did this to test it. However... I imagine after a while of this it would damage it. However there IS a power switch on the back to make the motor NOT try to open it. If this is off you can still lift the lid though unless you use the first mentioned lever on the front (mechanical lock)

Answer:	I bought this in 2007, and left a review sometime in '08-'09 about how much I loved this trash can. We are still using the same one and have only had to change the batteries a few times (in 12 years). The only reason I'm buying a new one today is because my kids were messing around the other day and slammed the lid shut, breaking the gear. I just hope my new one can last as long as my first one did (who knows how much longer it could have gone if my kids hadn't busted it)!

Answer:	I think it would hard to open if the sensor breaks. There's not really a lip where you can get your fingers into around the opening. The black top comes all the way up to make taking a full bag out easier so you'd have to put the bag on underneath the lid and pull the entire top up each time.
Question:	What 20 gallon bag packages actually fits in the extra bag storage compartment? It appears bags that come in rolls will not work
Answer:	I use regular white tall kitchen trash bags. I do find that I have to lift the entire lid to pull even a moderately filled bag out, but otherwise I have no trouble. I do not use the bag storage area as I buy a budget sized box of bags.
Question:	I have opened the trash can lid and the bag enclosure lid and now i cant get it to shut. it feels like i'm going to break it if i push down too hard
Answer:	For brand new sensor trash cans, the lid would seem tight when opening and closing. To close the lid, turn off the power switch, use a little pressure pushing down the lid frame. You will hear 2-3 clicks but that's normal and it will not break the can. This will be easier after a week or two. Question:	My lid is closing slowly and not opening up all the way. Have replaced the batteries problem still is there. Can I buy replacement lid
Answer:	I broke the hinge on the lid by accidentally hitting it while open. It still fits back together, but the lid often opens to the wrong place and it won't close at all or closes too soon. I just press the Open button to force it open, then lift the lid and set it at around a 90-degree angle (where it's supposed to be) then press the Close button. All set until someone bangs the lid again.
Question:	Does the large can have a plastic liner or just the ring that holds the bag
Answer:	the ring holds the bag... honestly don't buy this set. i cannot tell you how disappointed i am. i have bought two of these and the larger can motion sensor quit on both within a few months. both did the same thing, stopped opening via the motion sensor. so now we must resort to pushing the open/close buttons to operate, or use the plastic tap to open it manually. sometimes the buttons don't work well so i find myself just using the plastic tab to avoid frustration. i contacted nine stars and they said they would repair/replace, but i have lost so much confidence in this product that i don't want to waste the money to ship. then again, the small ones generally work fine. just thought i'd share my experience.

Question:	Is the trashcan very heavy? Our dogs like to try to knock over the trash, and we want to make sure it is a little sturdier than most other trash cans

You should also male sure to habe take black fit ring that holds the bag in place. That goes on before the lid. That's the trim ring (actually fit ring) that's pictured to the left between the lid and trash can. I hope that I was able to provide you with some viable information. I've had my can for a couple of months now and I just love it!

Answer:	The waste bin wouldn’t work at all so didn’t try any bags. Changed batteries, had two handi folks review it & never worked. Sent back after got return label two weeks ag. No refund yet but.......not holding breath.

It must have a sensor that shuts down the automatic mode when it is being used "manually" (i.e.: pressing the button or pressing the lid down) but then resumes after it resets itself (only a few seconds by my estimate). If you don't want it to open via motion sensor and just utilize the push button option simply take out the batteries. Hope this helps.

Answer:	I use this for compression testing, and I've never had a motor start with all the spark plugs removed and the fuel shut off. That said, if you don't turn the ignition on, you can run the starter with this without ignition.

Answer:	Thank you for your question. Yes, it uses a 30A fuse.
Question:	Is the inside of the trash can also metal, or is there a plastic liner inside
Answer:	probably 14 gauge , only hook up to the control wiring to the solenoid .
Question:	What's the size of the opening when the lid is lifted
Answer:	I do not advise you to wire this directly to the starter coil, although that may be the only easy choice and what the product tells you to do. It is possible that some who state hi current and melting are using this incorrectly. To start the car, this switch would be best In series with the starter relay in the relay box (not the relay coil on the starter), there are " Fuse socket connector kit's" on Amazon. IT may be possible to pull you fuse box stater relay and wire it back to the socket with these, that way you could use this switch to engage the lower current coil in that relay, rather than the higher current coil located on the starter. To complicate that further some cars may have a switch for the power to the relay and some always power the fuse box starter relay and turn it on by the computer supplying a ground switch, so you would need to determine that. This is how I use it in my system. Plus it is much easier to get at the fuse box relay then your starter coil and much safer, if you know how to do this.If you do wire this to the starter relay switch either at the starter or another location, it is a good idea as someone stated to hold it just long enough to start the car. If this is failing as some have stated after 4-5 times then it is no so well designed and you may want to get electrical schematics to figure how to use your fuse box relay.This is not designed and should NEVER be used as a "jumper" that runs from battery directly to the starter windings, in that case, this will melt and potentially start a fire. This would be a very bad thing to do.So in summary most if not all cars go thru this sequence, turn key to start, this supplies power to your starter relay coil in the relay box, that then supplies current to the relay coil mounted on the starter, which is a much bigger coil and relay and will draw alot more current. The large coil on the starter then picks up the final switch that connects the battery to the starter and you have hundreds of amps flowing. That is why starters fail, from the high current, the starter wingdings are fine 90% of the time, its the starter relay contacts that go bad.Best and safest use is to figure a way to wire it IN SERIES with the starter relay in the relay box. Do yourself a favor if you are unsure and buy a fuse from the auto store and another 10-14 gauge wire and wire the fuse in series with this switch if it does not have an internal fuse. Spring for a subscription from Alldata or Mitchell, it is generally about 26$ and well worth your money. You can go to either site and see a full fledged car/truck subscription posted freely, it is 100% same as subscriptions they sell, if they post your car or truck, you are lucky!
